Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

So, this is mentioned at the very end of Dissonance of Night's Terror
This effect activates immediately after the users turn when activated, and immediately before in all proceeding turns.
To me, this is one of the strongest upgrades for Dissonance as it means that we will benefit from the multi-attacker penalty. And with AC, that means dissonance, by itself, could provide a total of -12 before we even attack. This is especially potent, as Dissonance doesn't affect just physical defense anymore, but all defense.

I was kind of meh on binding Sixiang before this, mostly because interactions had been kind of lackluster(with the exception of the first meeting), being a powerful spirit was even off-putting to me, but now I want Sixiang, the idea of Cai sending Ling Qi to parties in her place as a sacrifice, only for Ling Qi to hide in the corner and release Sixiang on the unsuspecting fools brings a smile to my face.

[X] It's time to finish this, one way or the other, infiltrate Yan Renshu's base and break the back of his operation for good.
-[X] Invite Meizhen along

I see no particular need to talk to Cai about this. We started this before we were vassals of the Cai, we can end this without their assistance as well. And Yan Renshu certainly doesn't have the connections that would make one seek permission before going forward with a ruination plan.

However, I doubt that we can deal with Yan Renshu alone, and Meizhen helped us the first time. I say that since we started this together, we should end this together.

While Yan Renshu may be quietly cultivating and building to get into the inner sect and not worrying about us, I don't particularly want him to be in the inner sect. Irrespective of the use that Fu Xiang would have in us eliminating him from the competition, I don't want a person as resourceful and cunning as Yan Renshu getting into the inner sect when they have a grudge against us.

Yan Renshu was scary and powerful in the outer sect, I have no desire to see what he could pull off with the inner sect's resources at his disposal.

The actual problem here is, Yan Renshu may be covered by the peace from Sun's formal surrender.
A preemptive attack on him, even acting on reliable intelligence, may be interpreted as Cai's breaking her side of the treaty. Even if the victim is from commoner stock and only a Sun associate instead of a vassal, this could be used politically against Cai.
In this situation, it is wiser to ask for permission than to beg for forgiveness.

[X] Take the matter of Yan Renshu to Cai Renxiang.
-[X] Explain that you would prefer to deal with this by yourself, with the help of Meizhen who has a stake in it too.

Winter Eternal Cadenza: ooo
Cost 8 Qi
The completing half of the Spring's End Aria, a song with it's roots in the bleak, frozen lands that lie beyond the Wall. Usable only while Spring's End Aria is active, this technique unleashes if only for a moment, the absolute cold of a winter without end. This technique triggers a spiritual attack against all enemies within fifty meters at a bonus of two. This attack is DV6, and deals semi perfect damage. The user gains one qi for each point of damage dealt to a target which has at least one level of cultivation. On hit, targets have their speed penalized by 5 and their initiative by 2, as well as suffering a two die penalty on all clashes, this effect lasts two turns.
Cultivators need art to block semi-perfect damage, we should get information how common this defenses are, and how much health average cultivator have.
Ling Qi can accidentally kill someone with it.
With our current bonus this tech already have DV7 and it will likely grow as we upgrade our talismans.

[x] Take the matter of Yan Renshu to Cai Renxiang.

That Xiulans arm is basically bones on fire now is pretty ominous. I hope it is only a side effect of her spiritual cultivation being a stage more advanced than her physical cultivation, causing the fires of her Green soul to scorch her merely Silver flesh.

If it's caused by her advance in power instead of an imbalance she is probably going to loose that arm before she makes it to Steel Physique were she can heal it.

Find this more interesting than bringing up to Cai.

Oh wow, I didn't notice the timing change on Dissonance. That's huge for us! Especially paired with Argent Current.

After our turn. Dissonance benefits from Ling Qi's attack, not the opposite.
I misread it dammit. Sorry. Woah.
The tourney is the whole of week 52, so we'd have no time to train.
If this means no training week 52, then we have only 5 weeks for FVM7. This does make it much harder though not impossible. Training it every weeks with 3 EPC successes toward it should get us close enough that doubling down on last week (and if we go closed door every weeks we can do it without losing anything) can get it.

That, and Sixiang should hopefully give us some hefty bonus to cultivate musical art.

But yeah, it's a significant commitment, though not one that actually need sacrifices in art levels. It also more or less assure Domain 1 if we go for it.

By contrast, if we take him now we give him nothing to lose. And despite what people seem to think, even if he was stripped of all resources he would represent a dangerous threat. There is nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose and we cannot protect everything we have and care about from him if he is determined that he must hurt us above all else. If we take him now we constrain ourselves for the rest of the year. A determined green cultivator can go through pretty much anyone of the people we know and care about except us and Meizhen. So we'll hvae to turtle for the rest of the year, try to keep our friend's as close as we can and always worry.
We can tank his chances at Inner sect but he'd still have things to lose. There's a limit to what the sect and society at large will consider acceptable behaviour in such small time conflicts, especially as the vassal of the future Duchess, I don't expect robbing him again will make him risk offending the sect or the Cai by going after our family.

With the risk to our friends, I'd say that limiting his resources would actually make them safer. Though I'd still expect him to target us rather than being indiscriminate in his vengeance and having more people hunt for him. Suppose that's the benefit of having all of our friends in different groups, attacking them escalates further than going after someone only we care about.

Yeah, as expected, an Art transitioning into third realm is a colossal upgrade, yikes!

Hopefully we can grab a few of the Argent Arts up to that grade too. Certainly can't hurt, right? Especially since we've all but locked down our core Arts and brought them up to Third Realm. Just SCS to go if I'm not mistaken.

Hmm, the big expense though is chewing through our Talisman wish list. Might have to consider doing Sect Jobs for money soon.

SCS/TRF/AE if we discount PLR2/FVM7.

Still, we can get AM5 and AC5 if we want (and can get FVM7 on top of it if we go closed door every weeks).

If we succeed in sticking a funnel into QiMom's mouth and pouring pills into her until she awakens, are we able to teach her any of the arts we know? Could we teach her Eight Phase Ceremony and start making a moon cultivating family?

I see absolutely no reason why he would be covered by the treaty with Sun.

Sun publically disavowed any connection with him, gobbled up some of his assets, and continued the war with Cai. There is no reason why an individual who is not connected with Sun's faction would be covered by Sun's peace offer.

He wasn't there for the peace treaty, he didn't provide any reimbursement to Cai for fighting her, and at the end, he wasn't part of any faction, just doing freelance work for Sun, which wouldn't even be public knowledge.

The only person who could even try to make a political attack on Cai for her vassal attacking Yan Renshu would be Sun, as she would be the one to claim that Yan Renshu was protected. Since she disavowed any connection or protection of him and actually took some of his assets, it would be two-faced and a blatant manipulation of Sun's surrender to Cai. Such a blatant manipulation that Cai should have no problem turning around and making Sun look simply silly for trying it.

So, I was thinking. We were all excited about AE's new AoE qi drain tech last turn... And then we level up FSS and WEC basically renders it redundant.

So as a crazy idea, why don't we give Renshu his jade slip back as a peace offering?

If we want AE4 for the tournament we should still be able to get that from our existing studies (see how training AS works). Long term, I don't really have any interest in making AE part of Ling Qi's style. It's ugly. It's earth. The attacks are honestly kind of redundant with our other arts that fit us better. And if we really want a summon art then we can get one next year that fits us better and is actually focused on summoning (and will thus have better minions).

[] Let it go. Remain on guard, but leave it bbe
-[] return his jade slip as a peace offering

Crazy? Or crazy enough that it could just work?
