By the way guys, I don't know if anyone pointed it out besides in Discord, but between her recent comments, what we've seen ourselves, and her going closed door it's likely the Xiulan minor is celebrating her breakthrough.

Besides just being a cool scene, it will be useful tourney info to see how she's progressing, especially in regards to her tribulation.

For me, the build discussions are the least interesting part of the quest as they give me Nam flashbacks to my days playing WoW and DnD where if your build wasn't in the 99th percentile it was useless trash and you were a moron for running it, when they were actually perfectly viable and even really good just not the best.

The vibe of build discussions reminds me of those arguments and I just hide my head and say nay. I've done my time in those wars and now have retired to idyllic cabin with a Thematic/Character discussion vegetable patch.
 
Speaking of Discord info, @yrsillar has confirmed that as this year was a special year when it comes to the audience, the tournament disciples with high family backing can be expected to be fully blinged out.
 
Yeah, looks like we're going to need to crack open at least one more piggybank before the hammer falls.

Maybe we can use our Third Grade Moon Core to upgrade our flute after we've done this?

We don't have any acceptable theft targets anymore but Renshu, but we can still challenge folks.

I doubt anyone Yellow would accept a challenge from us without very favorable prearranged gear odds, odds that would make little sense for us to give unless we wanted to do a bunch of these and be sure of winning them all. Maybe we could con Chu Song into an even fight, but most of the other Greens we have a reasonable chance of losing to.

Really in the end I don't see a reason to gamble like this while we have plenty of money available for gear if we just liquidate instead.

In all seriousness, with at least 16 auto successes I believe Zeqing could seriously injure Ling Qi with a cold snort.

Hello all, new reader here. I've finally caught up and am now stuck in the accursed land of waiting for updates. But at least I can vote now, hurray!

As always, choosing my favorite minors is hard. For now I'm voting for the Sixiang and Lan Lan choices because they seem to be the most time limited. I'm still holding out hope that we might be able to bind Sixiang in time for the tournament. It's also been a while since we've spend some time with Su Ling and the Ma sisters and I think it would be nice to go catch some Pokemon with them. I want to vote for Mom and Zhengui options, but I think it would be okay to wait the next round of voting. As others have mentioned, it may also be a good idea to give Zhengui a bit of time to work things out himself.

You probably hope in vain.

Sixiang is, iirc, fourth realm. there is no way we will get far enough in our cultivation to bind her in her time remaining among mortals.


That being said, in a few years time we may get another chance. Hard to say at this point.

Agreed, and if we're not doing that we should at least interact with Hanyi, given it sounds like we might have a chance of binding her before the tourney.

Also, it also sounds like we WON'T be binding Sixiang, just like I thought. Unless we get a last-minute curveball of course.....

Sixiang is third realm stage 3. Likely expensive, but hardly impossible for us to bind. Heck, not even necessarily particularly game breaking if she's not combat specced.

Still, the option doesn't sound like something that'll let us bind her before she goes back to Dreaming Moon. So I wouldn't hold my breath there.

Yeah, I thought I remembered that (s)he was a 3rd realm, although I admittedly wasn't aware (s)he was stage 3.

Still, while it's very possible we won't be able to bind Sixiang, I still think taking the minor has a good chance to lead to more Dreaming Moon stuff in the future, and the Dreaming Moon is the patron I'm most interested in checking out next. I also just like Sixiang.

Oh, I know, I've voted for the action as well for dreaming moon stuff, but not for the persistent belief some people have that they're bindable just because they're a unique character than exists. By that logic, Heizui is bindable, and I don't fancy to see dragonmom's reaction if we attempted THAT.
 
Yeah, Sixiang's in a weird place. If they'd been early green or late yellow or something then I'd have assumed yrsillar was giving us another spirit. If they were green 4+ I'd say he definitely wasn't. Green 3 is an awkward place where it kind looks slightly too high, but maybe isn't?

Anyway, on another note, from an outside perspective Ling Qi asking for help with meridians isn't really silly. By most standards, she actually has quite a lot of meridians open and would be expected to be having difficulties around now. Also, from a long term fluff perspective getting a bit of meridian theory under her belt probably isn't a bad thing. She's mostly been coasting by on raw talent and narratively tutoring should really have longer term educational effects.

Still want yrsillar to interpret this vote as indicating she has a crush though :p
