Edit: More seriously, the arrangement, as presented would not make Hanyi ours- at least not in our or Zeqing's view. It would be more of an extended... scholarship? for Hanyi. Or exchange program. One very likely to lead to some kind of permanent arrangement, but it's also one that is strongly tied to Zeqing herself at its core, and to the Sect as an extension.

Even as busy as we'll be, I'd be surprised if we didn't visit every couple years. More often, depending on the geography. The travel routes along the border probably aren't the most robust; it's more likely routes trend inwards and movement from one border station to another takes a roundabout route.

Because we don't have the real/new version of FVM in a jade slip/memorised form, and neither does she as far as I can tell (she can't learn human arts as such). However, she could teach us the full FSS version. So we need her help to guide us toward the full FVM version, while she has already done so for FSS.

Or that is how I interpret what is going on.

Note that plans that don't tutor AE will cost us either RSS or an extra action, and mean that we trained this art we found in Renshu's cave with basically 0 professional supervision or advice.

AE current xp: 37
AE3 target: 100 xp
AE4 target: 200 xp (low end), 250 xp (in line with others)

With no tutor, 10 dark/5 earth SLP wills we'll get 123 xp, for a total of 60 xp into AE4

+3 AE actions at 5 earth, 5 dark dice: 160 xp, total of 220
+2 AE actions: 107 xp, total 167

With +1 moon xp allocation, we're looking at:
+3 actions: 250 xp total
+2 actions: 197 xp total

These numbers mean we're at over 50% of having to spend another action on AE.

With a tutor, these numbers become:
+3 actions: 256 xp
+2 actions: 202 xp

Still tight, but it means we'll need to spend less RSS on getting the extra dice we might need.

Don't need to helicopter hanyi and zhenguis interactions atm. Unless it gets bad we should let our son grow mature and handle his own problems for now.

This assumes that the main challenge to getting good at an art is being exposed to an "ideal" interpretation of said art. So the argument would be that since Zeqing made FSS, what she has taught us already is the ideal - and we can't learn anything more on the subject from her.

I don't agree with that assumption. I think that mastering an art is a process, and that appropriate guidance is helpful throughout the learning process, even if we have an ideal roadmap to start with. Here are my arguments:

A) Insight cannot be perfectly conveyed
Just because Zeqing knows the ideal form of FSS doesn't mean she can communicate it to us in all its nuance. So even thought Zeqing may have an ideal understanding of FSS, Ling Qi does not - she only has an imperfect imagine of the art that she has formed based on Zeqing's descriptions and demonstrations. As we work on the art and further out understanding, we can repeatedly improve our understanding - but that goes much more smoothly with Zeqing's guidance. If we aren't training with her, we only have out own intuition to point us to mistakes, rather than the knowledge and experience of a master.

B) Training is different for every individual
We've seen that making music is a highly individual pursuit; it isn't just about technical mastery of the play and qi circulation, but also a matter of infusing your own experience and understanding into the melody. I expect the same to be true of arts, especially music arts. In that case, everyone's route to mastery is going to be different; everyone is going to make their own mistakes and have their own challenges. The path is something dynamic, and thus not something that could be captured by even an ideal introduction. To perfect the art requires constant adaptation, and having a master guiding us is much more effective than having a single static introduction.

In both the above cases, I feel like Zeqing can help us more with FSS than FVM.
