What build up? What excitement? Half the problem right now is that the quest isn't building up to the tournament and is rather just grinding along tediously.I'm quite fine with the pace as it is. Also builds up excitement towards the tournament.
And yrsillar is going to show us that (if any significant further development was planned this year). By giving him greater control and the freedom to focus on those parts he should be able to do such development better. What you call "filler" some people call "story".
I'm much more interested in how our relation with Suyin will develop than seeing a fistfulls of dice for an other fight scene.
Month or two would be incredibly optimistic. We're at the beginning of week 44 in game and early April irl. Week 36, or 8 weeks ago started in December. That's more than 4 months irl, though it did include the Yan Renshu raid. The current pacing is slow and I don't expect us to even make it to the start of the tournament before another month or two passes IRL if it continues.
Do people really care that much about filler scenes?
Accelerating will still see our relationship develop, it just won't be as bogged down in great but superfluous scenes that drag the overall story down. I am a big believer in "now that you have finished your story, cut 30% of it to see what is actually important and tighten the flow", but lately FoD has been 'add 50%' instead. What you call "filler" some people call "story".

Those people would be wrong, Yrsillar has already told us what the accelerated version would do and that we can vote for characters to get more screen time. What you call "filler" some people call "story".

Ah so even worse then I feared.Month or two would be incredibly optimistic. We're at the beginning of week 44 in game and early April irl. Week 36, or 8 weeks ago started in December. That's more than 4 months irl, though it did include the Yan Renshu raid.

Why cut away the part I'm enjoying?!

Im not concerned with chars not getting any screentime in the accelerated version. Yrsillar has asyured us of his best intentions and best efforts when he picks our minors.
I doubt we will be lacking for cool stuff or cute stuff and we wont miss out on shinies.

It's come to the point where even though a ton constantly happens it feels like nothing does.
All thats left is voting on the unimportant stuff while quickrunning the important stuff.

Pretty sure that is wrong, and we would still be voting 1 week at a time in either case. The choice is just about cutting some less relevant character scenes. The big advantage of the accelerated version is that it allows us to make a cohesive training plan for the next few weeks in which we can specify our tournament goals and wirk deficated towards them.
He said we'd have one single build vote to follow for the rest of the tournament preparation, and another vote for which character relationships we'd like to prioritize.Pretty sure that is wrong, and we would still be voting 1 week at a time in either case. I disagree. He said we'd have one single build vote to follow for the rest of the tournament preparation, and another vote for which character relationships we'd like to prioritize.
Notice how "training plans" is plural? That is inconsistent with your interpretation.you will get to vote for training plans, and I will choose minors myself to move along the remaining plot threads we still have at this point to write between the dice rolls and such.
Considering the actual training votes are the most boring part...*Shrug*Could you rephrase or expand on that? I dont quite get your critique.
Edit: i guess you are afraid of minors being waysided and pure mechanics taking the center role.
I doubt that. For one purely mechanical progress posts dont have much "meat" to them and would need to be padded, which is what we want yrs to cut down on. Interaction with people and developing relationships will always be a main focus of the story.
Instead of that i actually think that we will learn more about our friends because with yrs picking the minors, he can be sure that he will pick a char in succrssive weeks allowing for mini char arcs.
That we could observe character growth instead of another week of checking in and catching up.
I'm strongly hoping the screentime vote is completely independent of training plan vote(as in, in separate voting phases) if we accelerate, because this is going to be heart and center of the incoming thread salt, and it is expected to leave nobody happy with the outcome when expressed in this manner. If folks vote for acceleration, you will get to vote for training plans, and I will choose minors myself to move along the remaining plot threads we still have at this point to write between the dice rolls and such. I will still give you guys input on which characters get the screentime though. You may also vote for your talisman as you can during all voting periods.
