Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Thief.

[X] Plan More Sixiang
-[X] Overflow to spiritual, vent drip to AC, Grinning Moon successes to PLR
-[X] Buy/use stuff
--[X] Use two YSS, two virtual YSS
--[X] Heavy Rains Pill (15 RSS), 10 Dice Wood Pills (30 RSS), 5 Dice Water Pills (10 RSS), 5 Dice Darkness Pills (15 RSS)
--[X] Monthly green stone from sect (200 RSS)
--[X] Total: 270 RSS, 2 YSS
-[X] (MAJOR) Mother
--[X] (minor) Mother
-[X] Train Music arts with Zeqing
--[X] (MAJOR) FSS
-[X] Cultivate in the White Room
--[X] (MAJOR) Open Lung Meridian
--[X] With Gu Xiulan
-[X] Cultivate with Cai Renxiang
--[X] (MAJOR) TRF
--[X] (minor) Well, you've taken the plunge, Cai's invited you out to train. Time to work on your understanding of her further
-[X] Go into the cavern, finish your quest
-[X] (minor) Continue training Zhengui in the Vale, and make sure to pay some attention to Zhen as well... maybe you can get Heizui to contribute?
-[X] (minor) Sixiang shouldn't be a problem for the moment, but you are interested. She said she was a muse after all, maybe she can help you improve your music?
-[X] (minor) Meet Gu Tai, and give him the polite refusal. It just wasn't going to happen

On further plans:
Week after:
Yan Renshu--best not to leave too long, but this week's tight, between Mother and moon quest
Mission/finish moon quest
TRF
White Room: Meridian
Zeqing
Week +2:
Sable light
Week +3:
Sable light

I urge people to wait on the talisman. We'll have better information after the moon quest, and if we're going to upgrade the flute, it'd be better to do that during the sable light pill weeks, when we aren't expecting combat.

[X][Talisman]
-[X] Upgrade Ebony Heartswood Flute
--[X]Upgrade offensive dice on music clashes to dice on all music clashes, increase expression dice, replace Haunting Echos with a bonus to DV for music arts and attacks.

Reasoning:

Getting FSS to to level 2 while being able to equip it is very useful. We also need to boost TRF, so doing so while fulfilling our obligation to Cai kills two birds with one stone, as well as opening a chance to get to know her even more. We also need to finish quest, so this does so. As for minors, Zengui is basically mandatory until tourney time, we need to formally reject Tai, and I just want to see Gan Guangli mud wrestle :p
I'm fine with the majors here, but I'm not voting for anything without Sixiang. She's our best bet to bind another spirit before the tournament. I was already against not having her minor this week - two weeks without her seems rather foolish to me.

Let's see how we expect Ling Qi's fights to go in general.
First round:. Use Mist of the Vale: Attribute: Darkness, Water, Music, Yin
Current Meridians: Heartx2, Lung x2 for 5 qi.
Dissonance in the Night: oo
Cost 4
Second round
Hundred Ring Armament: ooo
Cost: 7 qi(initial)
Could someone else please do it? It would help us pick what talisman would be must useful. I think a flying sword attacking well we spend our time buffing and making ourselves untouchable, but I don't have much to work off of.

Umm... We only need to use one yellow stone. Argent Vent provides 1 and EPC provides another 2.

So, to get to our maximum of 4, we only need to spend 1.

Or just a necklace that boosts our spiritual offence. Maximise offence for the competition.
I agree with this.
Regardless of which talisman we end up getting i think stacking the bonuses upon themselves instead of trying to get a wide spread of lesser ones is the better choice.

Specialized offensive Talisman:
+4 dice to all offensive clashes

instead of Random Necklace Talisman:
+1 offensive dice
-1 Qi on Lungs
+1 Expression
+1 vs dispels

Note: @yrsillar i really really hope it ends up as more than "one point per effect" because otherwise it makes for a pretty crappy talisman no matter what we vote for. As in Red Spirit Stone level talisman.

Better to reduce the Qi cost of our moves which we are already doing.
I would argue "better increase the power of the moves we are using". I don't remember a fight were we lost due to Qi reserves being too small (all the more so with the new Qi refill pills). On the other hand our raw offense has already been called out as an issue.

An other food for though: An other thing we could use the talisman vote for is Mother's Comb (An old comb carved from a piece of bone in the shape of outstretched wings. A gift from your mother, it offers a feeling of comfort when used)[color].

Going with this. I'd like to see what's in the Moon Cave before getting a new talisman and see how Sixiang is doing.

I really want to do the mystery boy option since he could be a powerful asset in disrupting Sun's schemes. Just his spirit beast pretty much no sold us.

So all our actions are used up during that right? So if we just keep doing the buff cycle and can't be touched then a flying sword should be able to gradually chip the enemy down without using our actions.

Does the buff cycle use up all our qi eventually?

Does this include the moon party?

@Nightfire Also, sorry, yours was better formatted than my preliminary plan, had the pills I wanted to use, and was only different in the single minor. I didn't think you'd mind

[X][talisman] Wait

Eh, I'd say finish the moon quest before we pick a talisman. It'll be done before the tournament either way, so there's no need to rush it.

Sweet, sweet loot. I would personnally be interested by a cultivation talisman, but I think I am all alone here.

Yeah, @yrsillar thanks for the journey but this is the point where we part ways. You have created a story that in many ways is the equal to the true greats of the genre and as I said quite a few times your characters were a refreshing sight to someone who had long grown tired of the one-dimensional caricatures that are otherwise so common. Your writing was a pleasure to read and if you ever publish a book or something of that nature I will do my best to check it out (and I will see to it that some of my next paycheck gets added to your Patreon if at all possible). I have little doubt that this quest will continue to be one of the best on this site but I can't change that this last vote thoroughly destroyed most of my interest in seeing where this goes (and basically every scene with Cai is reinforcing that) and I have little doubt that future updates are going to change that (I had similar experiences with for example Dragon of the North as well as We stand in Awe and in nether case proved staying with the quest to be a very enjoyable experience). As it stands though you are competition to far to many other ways of how I can spend my limited free time to make staying with your story despite my issues a viable option to me.

So as I said, thank you for hard work and good luck with the story.

[X] Plan More Sixiang

Has Sixiang.

[X][talisman] Wait

We should really wait on this. We're fairly sure that the Moon quest has a flying sword, a tailsman, or materials as a reward. We shouldn't get our Cai reward until we know what the Moon reward is - what if the Moon reward is a tailsman that reduces Qi for lung arts, for example? Certainly seems possible with all of our Moon-given arts that use lungs. We wouldn't need another tailsman that does the same. Any other possible Cai reward is similar, we could get something from the Moon that fills the same spot or has the same buffs. We should wait.
