Just to throw in my 2 cents. I'm still enjoying the quest, in large part because there were consequences and setbacks, and I'd much prefer you stay the course instead of using a lighter hand.

For the standards of Warhammer this whole venture has been rather successful.

Still personally desirous of going on Dwarven expeditions!

Because I want to hit Number 1 most liked by Dwarves human in the Empire, and that requires being a Dwarf Bro!

What I like about our current character development is that the losses we suffered makes us seem more real.

Agreed.

Again, agreed. After we hit Magister though.

That reminds me. Since we Are apparently Number 3 on the list of most liked By dwarfs human in the Empire, who is Numbers 2 And 1 right now?

I'll say that, as new to the party, I quite enjoy these last turn of events.

Sure, it's been a proper downer and such, and I don't really see what we'll do from here, but it makes the character feel so much more alive.
We were the spymaster and now that chapter of our life is closed. Now we can start on the next.

That's my bad, then. Apologies.

Is this view widespread? Has the quest become unenjoyable? It's not the first time it's been said, and if the bottom has fallen out then there's little point spending the time I do on it.
I enjoy it. I think this viewpoint is just because we're between jobs. Once we consolidate and move on to the next part of the quest, people should be fine.

Well here's my vote(s):

Also: @BoneyM how does this enchanting turn affect us? Will this work like a(n advanced) trait with 3 steps with step 1 now completed? Or is this something else entirely? I couldn't quite find out in the char sheet or in the post. Secondly: Is the Dramatis Personae informational post still being updated, or is it something you have decided to stop for now? (because I believe Markus's informational is incomplete at the moment)

Then some more thoughts:
I have been greatly enjoying this quest ever since I joined, which was fairly early on. I think this is mostly because BoneyM is a great QM. I like how punches aren't pulled, I like the dialogue and I like the way the setting is portrayed. Truly, I think this might be in my top 5 personal favorites.

The only parts I have enjoyed less is certain voters and their behaviour (this doesn't mean I want you to quit or change, just hear me out and maybe think about it). Specifically on Skaven. I have recently against my better judgement looked up what Skaven are and what the deal is with them, because I didn't know and the thread does not tell me about them. I have found them to be fairly underwhelming. I don't think they matter at all. The reason for that is the Mathilde doesn't know about them and thusly doesn't care. As soon as we learn about them we can worry about them, but until such time arrives (if it arrives), I'm certainly not worrying about them.
This is the most prevalent example of meta-knowledge influencing the players, but there are a few other examples when the voter-base suddenly showed some changes that (in my idea) didn't fit Mathilde at all, but BoneyM has certainly always made it work.
End rant.

Didn't see this edit. I enjoy the quest just as much as I always have, even if I'm constantly getting into arguments that frustrate the hell out of me. That's my own fault, though, and doesn't impact what I get from the updates themselves. I'll be here until the quest ends.

The quest is fun and I've long held the belief that a protagonists suffering makes any happiness they find that much more satisfying.

On an unrelated note, anybody else really starting to dislike the term "Dwarf Vietnam"? From what I gather, it's from another quest and has no bearing on this one, so the constant repetition of it as a reason not to help the dwarves is becoming rather annoying.

Magister then Dwarves makes sense to me. We just need to remember that expectations will be higher for a Magister than a Journeywoman.

I think after we become a Magister we should take a few turns off to actually do all the research we've been putting off. Research/investigate the liquid magic box, read the Necromancy book, do some enchanting. Maybe work our way up to learning Battle Magic so we can actually help the Dwarfs?

Cause we aren't particularly good at army scale magic at the moment. Might help to change that before we and join up for some army scale battles. At the very least let's finish off the list of Relatively Simple Magic spells.

That's my bad, then. Apologies.

I'm still enjoying it a lot.

Yes - dwarven crops might still grow here and the dwarves might find deposits deeper down than the humans looked.
Do we think there's a chance the Halflings would be able to figure our how to get crops to grow here, or even have different crops to try?

Cause I do remember that Halflings are geniuses at Agriculture and, unlike Dwarves, they'll probably be willing to take a look for cash and not cost favors.

I think eventually we will need blacksmith tools if we want to do our own swords(basicly fixed shyish kebabs) so dont sell them since they keep things a secret. Even basic enchanted swords sell for a decent price . Probably will have to learn smithing abit in addition to getting the enchanting formula done .
Why would we need to smith ourselves to enchant swords?

Buy a sword.
I think we should return the ring. Using it is flashy and the Witch Hunters will probably investigate to find out where we got it.
The benefit of fireball is, we're an ulgu wizard.

No one will suspect us of being the one throwing fireballs.

Eight bullets, more than enough to kill anything that moves.

But seriously, I enjoy the quest. And while Ablhem Van Hal death was a downer I look at it as a new direction to Mathilde's character arc.

Like, I dunno, vowing to cleanse Dhar from Stirland and Mathilde using her knowledge of enchantment and the Liber Mortis to create a sentient Ulgu spell that hunts all Dhar users in the province (all skeletons, zombies, vampires and necromancers) that is powered by the Qhayash juice from snake-in-a-box. An enterprise that would surely never go wrong and is as righteous as it is ambitious.

A reason for us to Smith them ourselves would probably to be able to imbue the enchantment into the weapon on a baser level, like soak the entire blade in it not just the surface.

I've had a suspicion, and I don't know why but I do, that why we might be able to burn Dhar out of an area through the use of Qhayash.

We'll find out when we finally get around to investigating it I guess.

People buying multiple pistols... you remember that we are a wizard and greatsword warrior, right? And that we just got a three-shot magic ring? How much firepower do you guys expect to need?
It seems unlikely that the young girl burying her father in private was calculated as an insult to you.
She didn't take our feelings into account?! That bitch.

Definitely a good reason to spend a few years learning a whole new mundane trade, amirite

I wonder how much ulgu we'll need to pack into one of our swords to balance out the fact that it's a shitty sword made by a novice?
