Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

[X] That she would accept, becoming a vassal of the Cai, and Renxiang in particular, with all that it entailed.

Loads of resources for cultivating, adventure and politics, more Meizhen time as well as a chance to get to know Gan Guangli and CRX more, what's not to love?

[X] That she would respectfully decline. She was too young to make such a permanent decision, even if that meant losing the offer.

Welp, I guess we're turning on the molten salt reactor. Cai's off to an early lead.

Fuckkkkkkkkkk.....here we go boys..... I was hoping to get input from momma qi first but alas.... we have been dragging the decision and going back and forth.

I'm feeling the accept option. Having an extremely solid support network for the time we're in the Inner Sect appeals to me. Not that we wouldn't have one otherwise, but being in Cai's corner would make that even better. Beyond that, Cai has been pretty good to us even if it was self-interested. Which isn't really a bad thing, just a sign of what we can expect working under her. It definitely beats trying to figure things out semi-alone.

Ulitmately if she wanted a vassal she needed to put more work into Ling Qi specifically. I don't object to working together with her, but it is far too early to ask Ling Qi to offer herself as a full vassal.

Cai has put very little into working to earn Ling Qi's loyalty as she boasted she would and asking for full commitment for the rest of our lives on this short a timescale, without her putting a lot more pro-active effort into courting Ling Qi is a bridge too far.

We may have limited actions but Cai has essentially never invited us to do anything, every first step has come from Ling Qi.

If she wanted to be sure of her allies or resources she should have spent more time trying to reach out to us personally and ask at the end of the year. Invest her major resources for this year into Ganguli etc and have a small amount left over for discretionary use.

If she takes the time to get to know us next year and asks again I might agree, but not now. And perhaps this will provide Cai a valuable lesson about where to focus her efforts.
Why shouldn't it be Ling Qi's responsibility to find out more on her own in order to make an in formed decision?

The difficulty of befriending her is part of the cost to offset her benefits, you may as well blame Gu Tai for not being able to shower Ling Qi in artifacts and stuff to entice her to choose him or for Jiao for not being able to make the offer personally and needing to visit Zeqing in order to find out the offer was serious with no way to even knew about it beforehand.

I like Renxiang. I like Meizhen. I like this option.

Many people have made good and reasonable arguments. So regardless who wins I'll be happy, still I want to be adopted by xin and jiao and learn the ways of the troll

Now, i'm out until new update or at least until the salt stop flowing.

I don't want to make this decision now, even if it means giving up on this possibility later. Being locked in so utterly young and while still so uncertain feels antithetical to her nature and love of freedom. No material benefits feel worth this, let alone the horrible regime we'd be swearing the rest of our life to.

Edit: also the Sect route seems interesting and open enough that we can pick something else later.
