It's still worth it--if only for the opportunity to build up more Domain XP if we get in any fights.

Anything we can do to get more Domain XP is worthwhile--since once we get up to Domain 1, our Domain Weapon's base die pool doubles.

Even the el-cheapo knife would jump to something on the lines of 32-34 dice if we had Domain 1. It's one of the biggest ways we can increase our strength in the time remaining.

@yrsillar, the moon quest this time doesn't give minor pre-completion bonus when choosing the moon, unlike the previous time when we chose Hidden Moon? Also, no second visions to clarify things?

Basically this. 150 red stones is not peanuts, but its entirely expendable. Every turn where we can't gain Domain XP for using a flying sword is a straight loss for the competition.

It's not worth it if we don't do anything meaningful with it is my point. If we get it then we should work to make sure it's worthwhile - i.e. get into fights.

Like, seriously: if it's so important that we get Domain XP then take the mission and actually get XP.

Only if that one week actually train domain with flying sword or else it is needed to get to a breakpoint.

As is, buying the sword this week but not fighting might be the same as using a Silverblood Pill but training no Argent art.

So, as the name of the plan suggests, what this plan does:

-Postpones the Cai vote to the next week (after mother interrupt and obtaining YR infodump),
-Advances those arts on which there is already a consensus,
-Chooses Xiulan to use the white room with us (She needs it more that Su Ling, who is ambivalent at best about advancement),
-Allows us to pursue further advancements in formations, hopefully allowing us to unlock further prep options for the tournament (Zhengui MOP mode, trick arrows galore, etc.)
-Lets Meizhen know about the dragon site, which will provide a noticeable boost to her abilities, and Cui's

This plan is mostly my attempt to present an alternative to the Cai minor, as currently there are none.

Not at all. We're going on an adventure this week on Moonquest and potentially one Mission. If we see combat, that means Domain XP from Flying Sword.
Then depending on the loot we find, we might get a perfectly suited Flying Sword for us, in which case we've spent 150 stones for a 1-2 combats worth of Domain XP...or we might just find a lot of wealth and cores, in which case it'd take some 2-3 weeks to custom order a Perfect Flying Sword, so we spent 150 stones for 3-6 combats worth of Domain XP.

The assumption that we'll have the Moon Quest resolved in a single week and a flying sword in hand from it seems kinda far fetched.
It can easily take longer than that or result in some other reward like crafting materials, pills or other gear, in which case we likely want to comission something and the new blade will take even longer to get.

Skipping out on combat xp for 3-4 weeks or longer is way more likely to make a difference and, if get a cheaper sword for training at all, better grab it now to make sure we don't leave any XP on the table.
Standing before the same decision next week with maybe some XP wasted doesn't do us any good and that's where not buying will most likely lead to.

Yes, you are both saying 'it's possible we might get some XP, so better buy this sword we might not use at all'. I mean, if we do a mission (even lost and found) we'll likely see combat this week, but with a plan without a mission it is like using a silverblood but not flat out training any argent arts.

Getting the moon quest done in one week is unlikely, but fighting in the moon quest before the finale is very unlikely. Either we get the moon quest finished this week, or we see no combat... unless we do a sect job.

So how about we make sure of that and do a combat mission?
 
We should be able to get domain xp from training as well as combat missions. Meizhen practised her flying sword on us in training afterall.
 
Ok, so here's a proposed rearrangement of things. Key goals were:
  • to make sure that we do Shambling Terror because missions are important and killing shit is important if we want to train with our flying sword.
  • To get Xiulan to the White Room. Su Ling, as many have noted, doesn't really need it and doesn't like getting given so much stuff by us. Note that Xiulan's fall from peak yellow to late yellow this week was not a slip - it was a failed breakthrough attempt. She really needs the White Room right now. And if we're doing that and a mission, then we can only attach her minor to it. Xiulan's minor though is quite good right now since learning more about the Inner Sect before we talk to Cai is arguably a good idea. Also, the comments about her being lonely etc. would seem to indicate that her mental health might not be in the best place right now and that it would be good to spend some time with her.
The thing this loses then is the Sixiang minor. This is fine. As the minor itself notes, it's not urgent, and we're not going to be taking their minor every week anyway.

Alternatively, if people want, it could drop Cai instead (adding a free action to send a message to Cai apologising and explaining that we want to wait until we can talk to our mother when she arrives).

To be fair I don't really plan on giving WR access to Su Ling after this week if Conservative wins. We've already given it to Suyin once, and IIRC Su Ling is close to getting Mid 2nd realm.
After this I'm happy giving it to Xiulan every week until the tourney.

Alternatively, if people want, it could drop Cai instead (adding a free action to send a message to Cai apologising and explaining that we want to wait until we can talk to our mother when she arrives).
