I think there was a copy paste error. I didn't write the quote you're responding to.

That's strange. Fixed now.

How is Flensburg City doing in terms of size and economy? If it's diminished we could make a case for the Free City status to be abolished.

Flourishing as a tax shelter.

Are the charters in question available? Do they mention the geographical specification? Or is it tradition that is bring argued?

Dieter IV granted the City of Flensburg the title of a free city without bothering to change the legal status of the County of Flensburg, back when he was both Emperor and Elector Count of Stirland. So all the arguments are based around what 'city' really means.

Dieter didn't care because he got paid either way, but once the Elector Count of Stirland and the Emperor stopped being the same person, things got complicated.

This also passes up o the chance to get better at it.

I'm not confidente we will ever see these weapons again if we send them off.
Probably, but you know, we were specifically lured to the barrow, we cleared it, got the ledgers and then this big stack of obviously valuable magic weapons.

Unless they were very stupid theres probably a reason why they're left there. I'd prefer to lose them than to do Fulgrim thing by accident due to lack of skill.
As for raising enchanting skill I'd point to the action to train enchantment. It's legitimately useful, t hough I personally want to learn invisibility first.

They match the style of all the other weapons that were left there, in the style of the pre-Sigmarite original builders of the Mound. It's possible that they were enchanted by a Shaman of the tribe, or they absorbed ambient Shyish over the centuries.

But yeah, everyone on the Council is aware that it could be a trap. That's why the decisions all amount to 'see if it's a trap', all that varies is who's doing the looking.

That useless turd. Even in death he's fucking everything up.

Quick thoughts:
Actions are precious. Stuff that does not take actions is good.
Several people said:
-[X] Reduce embezzlement to 50/turn
I think our embezzlement rates aren't amounts of gold, they are "half" or "quarter". So that would be 35.

@veekie, any chance I could convince you to swap researching Shadow spells for the petty/lesser magics? There are some very nice low hanging fruit we can grab in the lessers.
Quash: You can magically silence someone at a distance for a handful of seconds, and attempt to dispel magic within touching distance.
Dispelling magic at any range would be a great boon, and the same spell can let you cut off an enemy mage if you're quick. Shadow magic isn't that great at combat, not at our level, so being able to prevent another mage from casting could be the difference between life and death.
Security: You can enchant locks so they cannot be picked for a week, and set magical tripwires that alert you if they are crossed.
Better protections for our home and anything with a lock that we want to secure against the vast majority of thieves and nosey people, plus our own alert wards like the barrow had.

How much bigger has the city gotten from the day of the grant up today?

I mean, Can the Elector Count argue that the territory granted immediacy by the emperor is distinct from the territory added on afterwards?

Even with dieter being a lazy fuck, his grant would have said city of Flensburg is now free city, said city would have had its own charter that defined its being prior to the grant of immediacy, unless the grant itself or the charter defined it not as specific territory but as extent of sprawl or defacto authority.

Cities in Stirland don't lightly overflow their walls. It's been growing up, not out.

But in the beginning 50 was the lowest risk-category.
Has that changed?

50 was a quarter of the 200 lump sum you got on the first turn. Now you're getting 150 a turn, so a quarter would be 35 and half would be 75.

"Oh," you note. You try to picture a regiment missing a fifth of it's men and lead by the corrupt facing a horde of skeletons in battle. You wince.

"It is a heavy weight to carry, to take the life of your fellow man," he says softly, watching your expression. "But we deal death to the corrupt to prevent the suffering of the innocent. Never forget that."
Would you consider writing a blurb, of our character asking Van Hal about what could possibly happen with the guy being an agent of the Imperial Spymaster as an addendum? As that information would both be great to read OOC, and would be fascinating given it'd be a discussion between a member of the Grey Order and a former Witch Hunter.

It doesn't fit in the scene in the latest update without taking away from the moment between the two, and I don't want to leave in-character moments littered in small posts between updates. Mathilde will ask him next turn, assuming that time is spent with him.

...assuming I remember, that is. If the next update rolls around and that question isn't part of it, remind me and I'll go back and edit it in.

Make the Comte de jure lord of all floors above the fifth?

I mean, odder arrangements occurred in the empire.

Getting criminals under our control is probably the best we can do right now. It means using an organization that already exists instead of creating one from scratch.
