To be incredibly blunt about it, if we do Beirut we likely won't be able to do Karachi, and I would really like to get Karachi done. MARV fleets beyond maybe Savannah can wait until Q1 when we're actually pushing Karachi through.

Because our timing on Karachi is very, very, very tight to get as much prep as we can crammed in before Q1 and whatever nightmare we crack open in India? And we don't have the spare dice for multiple MARV fleets?

For the Simon plan, yes.

Personally I'd prefer to get Savannah only, spend the military dice on general improvements and the Tiberium dice on dedicated RpT actions, but the leading plans right now either do no MARVs at all, or Savannah and Beirut.

They may not be leading plans right now, but there are plans that only do Savannah. And they can become leading plans if enough people approval vote for them.

I just think the Beirut MARV both isn't immediately necessary, and is liable to leave us committing dice to MARVs next turn when we really want to work ourselves up for the Karachi sprint. Our Ground Forces are the most confident of any branch- they can hold the approach to Mecca a little longer.

Personally I think it'll split up later phases of Zone Armor factories into Zone Defenders and other Zone suits.
 
So speaking as the person who made Plan Mass Military and the Mysterious Martian Materials, I would strongly encourage everyone voting for it to also consider voting for Plan Mass Military and Martians and a MARV.

In fact I'm now preferentially voting for just the MARV version over my original variant, I think the Bureaucratic Assistance die is probably better used getting us a new income stream than it is getting some extra progress on the OSRCT station given the 8-10 extra dice we're about to have dumped on us next turn. Losing one unmodified die on OSRCT this turn will be more than made up for by getting multiple full Mil dice with the full modifier next turn, and funding those dice by completing the MARV this turn will help keep the plan reality.

This is not chucking a wrench in the works; its exploiting the natural function of the reactor to discharge more energy than is safe.
That joins catalyst weapons and explosives as ways to make liquid T go boom.

Yes but the scale is totally different. Bombing a liquid Tib reactor with anything besides a catalyst will not get you kiloton scale detonations. Trying to present all failure modes as "building kiloton bombs in our back yard" is straight up wrong, that's a very specific worst case failure caused by ONLY catalyst weapons. A more reasonable failure state with conventional bombs won't blow up any harder than a chemical plant or any other energy-dense industry would, and we build those wherever. A fertilizer factory probably cooks off harder than a liquid Tib reactor honestly.
