This is a good Christmas gift: a triple update of one of my favorite quests.

Right?! I got Art of the Deal and Double Agent Vader vibes right of the bat, it was really nice to see those works recreated in miniature here, brought back some good memories.

So quick question, Gallus is the same Gallus from mlp friendship is magic right? Is this what would have happened if we chose to start during the canon mlp timeline or just what would have been if Goldfeather was born a 1000 years later? would be interesting to see him to go off to the school of friendship to make sure his apprentice is ok.

Maybe? Could be either immediately post-discordian era or 1000 years later. At the start of the quest Griffonstone was an husk of Griffonia glory. 1000 years later shows Griffonstone is a tough place to live, until some ponies fix things.
Garrick's transition to power was fairly smooth. Not quite suspiciously smooth, but sometimes the narative feels like there are hints Garrick is simply some not-quite-random merchant uterlly unrelated to any nobility at all. The ruler he replaced died oddly fast (without a close blood relation, or a clamour of false claimants), near a convenient time to get a merchant focused ruler, with one very impressive warrior among the troops. Ravenburg was our spymaster from the very beginning of the quest.

The cloth merchant was selling Equestrian made fabric, so the omake either happens after the Maretonia war or in an au in which Garrick is born during the show era.

That Omake is a depiction of an alternate universe where, instead of the closing years of the Discordian Era, Garrick was born at roughly the same time as the Mane Six in the canon MLP: FIM.

Huh, neat. I at first, personally thought it was a Cyberpunk AU like your Fallout Equestria AU sidestory.
I was surprised to see Garrick when he showed up and amended my belief that this sidestory took place before the quest started and Garrick ascended.
I'm more surprised that it takes place in an alt-canon (never heard of Gallus since I never got that far into the show).

To be honest, I didn't know Gallus was a canon character. He only shows up in a submod for EaW as a possible leader of Griffonstone rather than in the main mod so I assumed he was an OC

update 1: Belle gets her happy ending. Nothing far from what I expected.
Update 2: I KNEW that was Garrick! It took me until the meal discussion to understand this was from BEFORE the coronation though.
Update 3: ...I wonder, how many of those daughters simply disappeared to live a normal life, far away from their "mother"? It was nice to see Rose's backstory.
Yeah, in hindsight this is obviously a what-if for a "if Garrick had been born in canon time"
I imagine that, sooner or later, he would have visited ponyville for business, and got tangled into a mlp episode or two. Alternatively he might have decided to send Gallus to the school of friendship to "make some contacts for the future" (and also because the poor lad needs some friends his age)
well, not sure how much you know about him now, but he's basically one of the 6 "successors" to the elements of harmony. The "Student 6", (a dragon, a changeling, an earth pony, a yak, a hippogriph, and a gryphon. They're basically the first non-ponies students to be sent to learn in Equestria by their rulers) become unlikely friends in the new school of friendship, at some point they save the day, and they also restore the tree of harmony a few episodes after it gets destroyed by Sombra.

This reasoning only makes sense if you're not immortal. If Phalanx is immortal, then setting up new hives isn't expanding her influence and ensuring her legacy, it's just setting up future enemies to fight over limited resources.

I think it was said that all gynes have the potential to become queens but the thing that triggers it was kept secret from them to make sure they wouldn't go off and try and found their own hives.
