An apology for the late arrival of this update doesn't really cut it. Especially seeing as how it's so short and, honestly, pretty low-quality. Truth be told, RL hasn't been too kind to me these past few weeks. Between that and my usual problems with writer's block and procrastination, it's been difficult to get my head into the writing mindset that used to let me crank out updates every week.

[X] Gift the Title: Well...your children could use some experience in the art of rulership. Gawain may be the first in line for the throne and already busy with his diplomatic posting besides, bbut you're sure one of your daughters would be able to make the most of the situation and put their skills and unique knowledge to use. Who knows, they might even learn something from the experience. Of course, there's the obvious question of who to give it to...

[X] Duchy Dissolution

I'd like to gradually shift towards a more absolutist and less feudal administration, this is definitely a step in that direction, and we don't have the immediate concerns the instability would interfere with.

Well this is actually quite the conundrum

Installing a replacement leads to potentially an internal political force that could oppose us. Yet gifting the grand duchy to ourselves is BOUND for issues. This might be an opportunity to install some sort of limited democracy amongst the nobles... but I'm at a loss to how to do that easily, and it's not the best time anyway.

Gifting the title, and making the "Grand Duke" the title of the Crown Prince like the Prince of Wales does have some merit, while also devolving responsibilities to the lords.

[X] Duchy Dissolution: You'll dissolve the Duchy. It'll cause some chaos and inconvenience in the short-term, but it's the only option that won't anger the nobility and risk causing you further problems down the line.

[X] Duchy Dissolution

I was thinking of maybe making the title a Prince of Wales/ heir to the Empire thing.
But I think dissolution is best in the long term, we can maybe make our heir the grand duke, but keep the power in the imperial administration instead of it being separated... but this is for later, when we have control of the duchy.

[X] Gift the Title: Gilda Golden-Feather

I don't think dissolution is the answer here, it needlessly disrupts the system.
Gilda is a good Steward she can do well there.
Gleaming will likely end up in the Crystal Protecterate.
And Gawain is in line for Emperor, while Gwyn is set to be in reserve for emergencies.
It gives Gilda a responsibility in the future.

Could we split the grand duchy into two smaller duchies? I'm not sure it would be a good idea and it would cause administrative chaos but it would expand the range of options.
