"You scout like a Ranger,"
A high complement from a Dwarf.

[How high up in the Tribe was the Boss you killed?: 100.]
Ha! A battle won before even begun.

[X] Kragg and his Unsealing.
We did our work, time for pleasure.

No seriously we have done our part. We single-handedly crippled all three layers of defence that Belegar had to get through. If the expedition cannot capitalise on the start we have given them then they really don't deserve to succeed.
Let the armies do their jobs. We can take an afternoon to watch the strongest Rune Lord on the planet working some of the oldest vault runes ever forged.

Very well. Though, noting I was not using it to insult anyone or label actual people, I apologize and will edit, and take note of that for the future.

To be fair, you were using the word in an insulting fashion toward said fantasy creatures. And even if you were only insulting fantasy creatures and not actual people, by following your logic one could justify using other, more inflammatory slurs to insult trolls.

Best to avoid the entire spectacle.

Presumably the players of Warboss Quest had discovered that they could successfully avoid supplantation and challenges by encouraging fierce rivalry between their underlings to the point where they were at each other's throats - and thus too exhausted/distracted to challenge their rightful boss.

An infallible strategy, they thought... up until now.

Besides the fact that being an overachiever could get us more Dwarven favor, both for the action and expediting future success that nets more of such favor?

I'm not 100% Kragg won't tell us to fuck off if he sees a manling trying to "steal" Dwarven tune secrets.

[x] The Chiselwards below.

Or

[X] The Highways, where Karag Lhune joins the rest of the Karak.

Be spoopy in urban combat or be spoopy elsewhere, tough decision.

Between that and set up artillery we can dominate the Peaks with suppressive fire from artillery and air support, as well as aerial reconnaissance
Notably that artillery advantage is lost if we're attacked from underground below, so I'm leaning in favour of securing that entry point.

But I'd also quite like to see Kragg at work, we might learn something.

Because the ability to cause the other side to break is useful in urban combat. Alternatively insuring that the area that might allow anyone seeking to push the expedition back has to push through a fortified position, or push through a forified position, and being rained on by artillery.

Hi, I just caught up with the quest and am really enjoying it.

I read through the character sheets and have a general question about Mathilde's capabilities.

My impression is that she's not a Battle Wizard, right? Her primary contributions will be scouting/spying, assassination, and sabotage. In a straight up battle, she's a very good fighter, but not a force multiplier like she would be in more asymmetric combat.

Of course, even in a giant melee, there's still opportunity to wandering around to take out important targets, and to try and scout. And the Seed of Rebirth means she'd be an especially good bodyguard. But overall, which area would maximize Mathilde's effectiveness?

If things go wrong, its going to be by reinforcements coming in from other peaks. If we hold the underway we have the gate peak bottled up and can hunt down the survivors at our leisure.

Urban combat and being spoopy, given she's fighting things which suffer badly from fear and has the awesome spell of Dread Aspect. So the Chiselwards being primary zone of urban room to room combat, the Highway since there's a good bet its where the Skaven are and scaring the pants off them is useful.

We once took a skaven-occupied fortress more or less solo thanks to dread aspect and a lucky crit.

She might not be 30+ martial murderblender or a battle mage, but she has a comparable impact against Terror-vulnerable enemies.

The only place there's a reasonable and Weber-counterable likelihood of things going badly enough to be a strategic problem in the assault. I also don't want to risk looking like we're interested in yoinking Dwarven secrets, cause that's one of the only ways I can see us harming our current relationship significantly.
