a kinda pointless filler post wich was my fear with this option winning out but a well written one i guess.

And the point was that the dragon ogre might have been hunting and we got distracted for a long while we should have been checking the port, the underway entrance and to see what inhabits the port if there are any. There is a slight time limit atleast if boney sticks to current update a week pace ingame with some thrown in actions/updates thrown in.

altough we might have a few more days than i thought since dispelling supervision and checking the eggs shouldnt have taken many of the days up for the week if boney is sticking to the artificial limit of a week.

[X] Continue following it. It would be good to know where this creature calls home, and whether there are more of it.

That went better than expected. Decent information gained, little time lost.

Edit: Changed my vote. Not that is matters.

Looks like its just hunting, wonder if there's a small gathering that allied or wipe the goblins?

@BoneyM, since you seem to use TT mechanics to resolve (mass) combat now, how would our rune of spite look in that? Strength doesn't seem to be a linear scale, so "return twofold" is unlikely to be a S*2 hit (that would return a greatswordsman's hit with dragon+ strength). Is it something like S+2 hit, or just two hits with attacker's own strength?

Two hits is an elegant way to do it. I'll be working on a statblock for Mathilde for tabletop.

@BoneyM How much is time a concern? Would deviating to Thunder Mountain delay us enough that scouting the port wouldn't be possible anymore?

Your scouting is projected to take two days; detouring to Thunder Mountain will take you about half a day out of your way. The Expedition is to reach the port in a week and a half. Sooner is better for intelligence, but it's not a huge delay.

It's an acceptable delay for potentially invaluable information. Being flanked by the Night Goblins is already gonna be a pain. If they're allied with Dragon Ogres it could be disastrous. Better find out now.

It was hunting, not scouting for a larger force.

There's prudent investigation, and there's getting completely side-tracked by nonsense. We've wasted enough time on this.
