[Rolling...]

"Zog that," he says, his voice a low rumble that reverberates through the cave, and then he's gone.
Thread: Oh man, are we going to be able to beat Birdmuncha?
Birdmuncha: *nopes the fuck out*

All because you and Johann stole a gas mask.
And so it is acknowledged in IC.

Also, again, I feel that it must be remembered that this was all set in motion by Plan Slow And Steady.

Suggestion for the Transcendant Boon: Have the Karaz Ankor launch an expedition to reclaim Karak Drazh so we can hunt Birdmuncher down and get that climactic duel we wanted. /jk

Oh, and building off of Heidi's comment on planning, and other thread thought, for the lesson learned over the 4 years:

Ranaldite 'Planning': You tend to shun long term plans, instead being an opportunist who spends time creating and maturing those opportunities. The eventual payoff seems like pure chance.

EDIT: Seems like this might be too vague as well.

I think I kind of want to focus on traits that represent personal change to mathilde character rather than the battle and karak stuff.

@BoneyM

Perhaps a trait to reflect a change towards valuing multi-racial ventures the idea of alloys being stronger than the sum of their parts? No idea what this would look like outside of partially diplomacy related.

Are there any other potential spell development traits that this could open up. I suggested a Shadownblade trait above, focused on killing enemies personally, but I could potentially see one developed from Mathilde's understanding of the confusion and chaos of having multiple enemies fighting each other that makes it easier to provoke mutual enemies into attacking each other and develop spells that help do that, such as spells that upgrade Doppleganger/illusion to automatically assume the form of someone both you and a specified target are hostile to, even if you're unaware of who that is.

I can't think of anything worthy of such a boon that King Belegar can offer, right now. But something might come up later.

I propose we take our vacation first and see what happens.

Hell, maybe Malekith will chose that moment to invade and we'll get enough Elf favor to patch up Elf-Dwarf relations by personally bridging the two.

For Loremaster: A trait for building a battle mountain. Maybe a bonus to WMDs (weapons of magical destruction)?
For Personal: Something because of our report with Kragg? We've made an effort to hang out with him whenever possible. Not sure what it would give. Maybe Grumpy people instinctively feel Mathilde's fondness, and are more likely to return it?

Do we get just one choice or one in each category?
Check the update.

In the coming day or so, I will continue the turn where things left off. I plan to have a big wrap-up of the Eight Peaks campaign at the end of the IC year, and there will be three different ways these events will have ended up shaping Mathilde: one from these past two days as Thane, one from these past four years as Loremaster, and one reflecting on her personal life. I will be taking suggestions for possible entries to this list; please make these suggestions with an eye to Mathilde's continued evolution as a character, rather than mere mechanical advantage. I've put in a few examples for each.

"King Belegar's Dalaz Kron," he says. "Many scores to settle at the closing of such a momentous chapter in history. He's instructed me to tell each of you that you're each to be granted a Boon, and should start to consider the form you wish it to take."
EEEEEEEEE he's doing it!

I'm not sure how much support this will have, but i really hope we take the "forgive Sigmar" trait.
Not because we forgive Sigmar as such, but the disdain we feel for him, and more importantly his worshippers, is a kind of weakness i wish we could get rid of.
Just remember the issue with the watch and worship.
Not saying we should like Sigmar, just that we should be able to deal with his worshippers, who are many.
The trait hasn't been relevant except as thread memeing for four months IRL and something like five years in game. It is not a weakness that needs to be cut, because it is just not a thing that comes up very often.

K8P life traits:

Magical Architect: building and operating Eye of Gazul has left you with a fine taste for magical structures of unusual size. Bonus to research and construction of magical towers, henges, and other megastructures.

Cosmopolitan: living in multi-species holds of K8P means you're well accustomed to peculiarities of different societies. Bonus to diplomacy and cultural research towards less common cultures.

@BoneyM how about a Saboteur or Infiltrator trait? We did a lot of that during our time here. Especially in our free time.

Added infiltrator. Saboteur is a bit too general, considering what it would mean would change radically based on the target.

I think I kind of want to focus on traits that represent personal change to mathilde character rather than the battle and karak stuff.

Added a trait for gaining diplo skills for cultures that aren't Old World humans.

Added magical superproject trait for the former. Latter doesn't make sense IC.

Both added as per previous suggestions.

When dawn breaks, the Dwarves carefully comb over every inch of the Caldera and cave in every single break in its surface. If there's greenskins trying to wait out the Throng, they'll quickly run out of air, and a final few holdouts dig their way out and are quickly cut down by the unflagging Dwarves.
And at some point the few remaining Clan Mors forces under Karagril will collapse, and the constant pressure from Karak Drazh will have to be held back by Dwarves.
Dang, Mors has held out for two and a half days and still has a bit of steam left. Impressive.

It would be nice to do snake juice research first, but is there anything else that's important before we go?
Getting our skill with Branalhune up would be good. It's better the more skilled/experienced with conventional swordplay the enemy is IIRC, so it'll probably be very effective against elven warriors.

Suggestion; reorient this towards a gift for getting different species to work together?

I think we're missing the importance of the suffix -ed

Does it refer to a person, a journey, in the past tense?
Yep, adding '-ed' to the end means that the noun is in a verb form and is in the past tense. Possibly in "X'd" or "had X'd" or "will have X'd" form.

--------------------------------------
"In Khazalid almost every noun has a verb form which is usually denoted by '-it'. In the present tense and '-ed' in the past."

As in the example above -- verb signifiers usually appear at the end of words. In Khazalid almost every noun has a verb form which is usually denoted by '-it'. In the present tense and '-ed' in the past. Tenses other than the simple present and past are denoted by additional words before the verb rather than by different endings -- the equivalent to 'will steal' (an skit) in the simple future tense. Although separate words these are often written together as shown.[4a]
  • Skit -- Steal[4a]
  • Sked -- Stole[4a]
  • Anskit -- will steal[4a]
  • Adsked -- had stolen[4a]
  • Anadsked -- will have stole[4a]
--------------------------------------
So it's like... it takes the words "Azril" which (as others have said by now) means a silvery metal or weapon-metal, possibly Gromril, or possibly being a reference to K8P itself. Since K8P's name is Vala-Azril-Ungol, Queen of the Silvery Depths, so in a sense it'd make sense to me if somebody used the word "azril" to reference K8P in general. And "Drek - Far, a great distance; great ambition or enterprise."

So it's something like... ... Doh, I dunno. My imagination's failing me here.

Silvery or Argent Wanderer maybe, as an amusing nod to Gandalf's title of the Grey Wanderer. :V

Not a bad suggestion; It's basically the total opposite of Tzeentchian 'planning', too.

If we're getting any spell trait out of this, it'd be something for personally ending the lives of five hundred thousand people in a single moment using a magical superweapon to borrow a god's Smite button, and then seeing all the gods who were circling around the situation.
Ideally top off the intrigue traits to advanced and make our selves a +1 magic staff.
The staff, maybe, but the more Elfcation turns we take the more Elfcation turns we can take; after a certain point it's just more efficient to make a quicker start of it, even if it isn't as cool as we would like.

I would say that it's more because we're not near a major center of the Cult of Sigmar. If the thread wants to, for instance, head for the Empire it would be better to take the removal option. If we're looking at staying here, heading to Tilea/Estalia, Ostland, or somewhere Sigmar is not held to so fervently there is no need. This is something that will essentially push us towards other fields if taken, simply to justify why we took it.
