Back! Editing pass done. Should read a bit smoother now

To my mind, it's a microcosm of the trappings of knighthood versus what it means to be a Knight. She lives in a mountain and walks shoulder to shoulder with her troops rather than towering above them on horseback, so getting a horse would be a surrender to conventionality and appearance. She can be a Knight without a horse, just as she can be a Knight as a woman, and on the far side of the continent from Bretonnia.

Thank you so much!

Setting up the entire hostile population of Karak with their own agendas and having the thread understand that, treat the enemies as enemy players rather than static terrain, and use that to build up this chain of dominoes has been really rewarding, and I'm glad it's paid off in a way that has rewritten the story of Eight Peaks.

Karak Eight Peaks is a very very well-designed Thunderdome, and that quality has paid off.

If there are no extant branches of the Broken Toof or Crooked Moon tribes. It'll take a century or two of no sightings before the Dwarves will be satisfied they're gone for good.
the fact that a whole tribe of Orcs can make a come back from a couple of spores if there is enough food, water and time is incredibly annoying for everyone else.

Well, they might be orcs, but tribes are a culture, I think, so even if they're related they might not call themselves by the name of what used to be the tribe in the area.

ehhhh, some of the lore makes it out to be that they have something like genetic memory.

like, they are born knowing how to speak, what mork and gork are, some of them know how to smith just because etc etc.

knowing 'you come from this tribe' isn't far out there and explains why some tribes just won't go away.

You know I don't know why, but I am sort of imagining that when Belegar takes to the field in the coming battle it will have the same effect of Sauron doing so in the movies. Mainly him swinging his hammer once and a handful of Orcs are send flying from the sheer strength of it.

So kinda TWWH?

Where legendary lords do that kinda thing.

About the horse thing fr our local questing knight (need no input of BoneyM).

Is that a plan to get Mathilde to give the knight an artifact to summon a shadow horse so that she has a horse?

I think the implication is that she just doesn't want one, because then she'd be separate from all her pike-wielding friends.

Some people have wanted to do something along those lines but I don't see a need. If she wanted a horse she could have gotten a horse. No need to get her a magical horse if she doesn't even feel strongly enough about horses to get one for herself.
