[X] Plan: Keep Severance Pay, Give everything else
[X] Plan: Exam Preparation

Well, that was unfortunate. Oh well, we'll live. I'm definitely interested in fighting with Belegar, it sounds interesting.

[X] Plan Wizard In Residence
-[X] You're quite comfortable where you are, thank you very much. Wurtbad is your position of power; Spymistress was just one arrow in your quiver.
-[X] Enjoy a well-deserved holiday catching up with personal projects and living off your accumulated embezzlement.
-[X] Give report, Runefang, Repeater Rifle, Information Network
-[X] Keep Liber Mortis, Abelhelm's Study, Gong Farmers and Niter Factory, DIscretionary Funds

We don't actually want her to run Stirland into the ground; that's our home, Van Hal's legacy, the place we've spent a decade of our lives. Stick around and keep an eye on the old joint. Hang out your wizard's shingle, catch up on some projects that have languished, see how Wurtbad does for at least a few years, at which point we'll be more than ready for Magister.

Unfortunately I don't think we can keep the Information Network running on our own, it can't pay for itself if we don't sell tidbits back which is suddenly a lot more treasonous than it was a month ago. But I think the Niter Factory can pay for itself through our contacts in the EIC, so I say we keep that. The Watch never liked the Gong Farmers, anyway.

Anyway though, normally, you're right in that Wizard + Dwarfs is a bad mix.

But we've got the third highest Dwarf Rep in the Empire right now.

I'm pretty sure Mathilde counts as the Exception that Proves the Rule.

Wow. I mean.... Wow. When a Journeyman Witch has your 3rd highest rep with the closest allies....

Karak Eight Peaks isn't anywhere near as badly off as Karak Ungor was.

Low bar.

Eh, is it really stupid?
As was stated when we first got the thing. You can be pretty damn sure that, sometime in the last 1,100 years, some member of the Van Hals has tried to destroy it. That they have failed is no surprise.

The Liber Mortis, is one of, if not the, greatest tomes of Necromatic Magic and undead knowledge in the world, only beaten out by Nagash's Nine Books. These kinds of things have POWER. If you tried to destroy it, I would bet IRL Money it would Fight Back, and it's a fight we would lose.

[X] Plan: Exam Preparation
-[X] Good riddance to Wurtbad; you've got a nice bit of land up in the hills and a commitment to invest in it, and some solitude will do you good. Lock up the Sunken Palace in case you ever need a safehouse in the future.
-[X] Return to Altdorf to face the Magister's tests, and determine what to do with your life later.

I do admit that the plan name is misleading as we are also keeping the Liber Mortis, but the plan is very reasonable.

[Among a great many rolls to generate her attributes and attitudes:]
[Her attitude towards magic-users: Roll, 9.]

Then she steps outside the formality of the greetings. "My father spoke well of the service you provided him," she says, her voice stilted and formal. "I thank you for this, and will provide you with a glowing letter of recommendation. It may be that the curse of magic you labour under is undeserved. Nevertheless, I will not take the chance, and release you from your service to Stirland."

Your eyes narrow as you stare back at her wordlessly, and she leans away from you as the silence stretches, nervousness growing in her eyes. But then you incline your head. "As you wish," you murmur.

I take solace in the fact that Stirland Quest is now having a bad day considering the new Countesses's roll.

Not to mention that it also includes some of the best info on how to Undo Necromancy.

Vote for my plan for following benefits!
  • Minimum risk in anyone finding evidence of anything.
  • Keeps the Damn Book, Rifle, report, and money
  • Getting out of Wurtbad to avoid scaring the count, she is afraid of wizards exploding instead of hating them. But the Watch definitely hates Mathilde for pushing her Ranald agenda.
  • Actually be a wizard, noble, priestess, and business women.
  • A clean break from the Stirland government, no lingering connections for anyone to blame Mathilde for anything.

I kinda want to convince Anton to stay on, help her get settled.

If she crashes and burns we're all in the shit, and Anton had that magic diplomacy touch.

I want to continue with our efforts, either from our estate, from the Sunken Palace, or from Drakenhof. My goal in this quest is to destroy Necromancy in Sylvania and Stirland.

This is a much more difficult task now that we have been kicked off the council, but not, I think, so difficult as to be worth giving up over.

We need the money from the Gong Farms and the Niter Factory if we want to continue this so I say we keep them.

I like this organizational, economical approach to intrigue and taking down evil we have going on. I don't want to be reduced to some random mage who has nothing to work with other than her magic, especially after we've seen how easily magic can fail you in Drakenhof. Magic is a nice supplement, but as we've seen it is through the beating hearts of the people that we best accomplish our desires.

One spy/mage without a support base can get some stuff done, but it's nothing compared to an army of informants and mountains of money and rich businesses.

Did you forgot how we can partner the network with the EIC, and we are only selin useless gossip, and the whole thin is gon farmes are going to give a profit sine we don't have to fund the watch, we can totaly keep the network.

Guys, we spent dwarf rep on the niter factory!

It's fucking ours.

And I seriously want to keep the rifle, not only it's a great great weapon, it's Van Hal's.

The new count wouldn't trust a wizard having the network. Her spy master wouldn't like it either.

To be fair we will have a bit of a support base in the form of our shares in the EIC and our estate. I sort of like the idea of upgrading our estate and creating an elite guard (yes I want Smoke Knights) all with enchanted equipment, then showing up the next time Stirland goes to war and steal the spotlight.
