Shouldn't the necromancer be interrogated, especially about what is underneath the tunnels that killed the patriarch?

Would shadow mage girl have to inform the other wizarding orders how a team of wizards dissapeared? Or the fact that all the wizards are working together and left Mathilda out of the loop? Would she have to finish whatever task they were expected to perform later?

Not all other wizards. Amethysts had some sort of Amethyst business here, but Light just blew himself up - he wasn't cooperating with them. Colleges having secrets from one another is nothing new. And about disappearing team - it would be prudent to inform their Patriarch, but sadly he led that team and disappeared with them.

[X] Leave a garrison; it is now de facto Stirland, not just de jure.
-[X] Medium Garrison - 6k men, 20 cannon.
[X] Execute him publicly, in the traditional way. Burn him at the stake. (+morale)
[X] Nothing has changed. We have cannon, we have dragon. Castle Drakenhof falls.

Could we set up a ritual to make us dispel better for the time frame of the next battle?

Because between all the canons and the Dragon we don't really need to cast, our ability to dispel is much more important, so if there's anything we can do to increase our ability to dispel, even if it makes us not as good at casting in the short term, we should probably do it.

--[x] Have as many of our walking wounded as is feasible man the garrison, along with enough healers to keep healing them.
--[x] Have the garrison begin patching up the town's defenses, in case the worst occurs and we need a fallback point. Also burn or otherwise destroy the undead so its as hard as possible to use them again.

I added a clarification to the winning vote, but I don't its anything folks would disagree on...maybe.

The 2 Magister amethyst wizards are still alive. They'll be able to file the reports.

Guys, we don't have surprise anymore. Let's do at least some recon/interrogation so that we are not blindsided completely.

I kinda hope Kasmir is able to heal us (no matter how bitter that would feel...), so we're healthy enough to take part of the battle.

I want to personally plunge the Orc Hewer into the bongo that is the so-called Elector Countess!

So, I have a question about the Morr faith.

Are they against transporting bodies?

If not, that's one potential way to clear out Necromancer supplies. Transport all the bodies in Sylvania and Stirland to other Morrite cemeteries where they can better rest and be less likely to be stolen by Necromancers. It would be a little costly but it should be feasible and worthwhile. Can't be done all in one shot, would be an ongoing project, but I bet you we'd see results.

They kinda disappeared in the tunnels under city with their maybe-dead leader, so they may very well die before filing that report.

And it seems that our greatswords borrowed a page or two from Slayers' book.

Oh, @Omegahugger had an excellent thought. @BoneyM , Kasmir failed with Van Hal, but can he heal us? We are de-facto commander and only wizard, that wound penalty has to go.

I mean, that would be incredibly satisfying, but getting into melee with a vampire is a terrible idea. We have about one person in our entire host who should be doing that intentionally and it's the dwarf slayer champion.

Edit: Also the dragon. I approve of the dragon getting into melee with the Countess. That would end well.

Isn't Asarnil the toughest non-dragon person here?

I mean, he has no business meleeing anyone, he should be guiding his dragon to burning everyone down instead, but still. Just checking that I'm understanding his power level right.

He isn't very tough, but he is veritable death-machine and has magical trinket that makes anyone in melee with him about as skilled as a child. He is mostly vulnerable to sniping - only two wounds and 4+ armor.

Asarnil would very likely win if he fought a vampire one on one, but the dragon is so incredibly powerful and valuable to the campaign that I'd say it would be an unwise choice to have that happen unless some unlikely set of circumstances occurs.

Those do happen, though, so sure, Asarnil too.

I do have to remind everyone that the shadow mage girl, does not deserve revenge, she and the count invaded first, they are technically in the wrong, and the undead just defended themselves.

Something should really be done about the mysterious dissapearance of the wizards, its a bad idea to leave the tunnel alone, or it could be that the entire wizarding team accidentally killed themselves due to bad luck.

Is there a reason to attack the castle immediately instead of waiting for reinforcements, resting or for more wizards to arrive? won't it be better to deal with the tunnel first, especially if the mage girl needs to get on the other wizarding orders good sides?

Very much no. The undead invaded first, long ago. The count has just taken a while to muster the army and get around to retaking Eastern Stirland. This is Empire territory, the necromancers would be in the wrong even if they weren't unholy abominations for entirely separate reasons.

This is an interesting point though, I wonder if those amethyst wizards are going to show up again coming out of the tunnels later.

[X] Nothing good can grow in such tainted soil. Burn it to the ground.
[X] Execute him at once, before he awakens. (+1 dead necromancer, 0 risks)
[X] Nothing has changed. We have cannon, we have dragon. Castle Drakenhof falls.

Burn it to the ground and then come back in like a decade or so and rebuild. Kill the necro now for no risks, considering how fucked up the whole campaign has been now. And of course, we finish this.

It would likely be different if, instead, the knight had been given the role, the one you accidentally knocked out in the courtyard all those years ago...
I could literally feel Mathilde's pain and loss oozing though that line.

9,000 crossbowmen
800 pistoliers (dismounted)

4,000 Thunderers
1,500 Quarrelers

Urban warfare and the only ranged soldiers to die on our side were some CoH guys and 200 Halflings? Did the enemy have nothing but various types of melee infantry? Not that I'm complaining or anything...

As a reminder to everyone, the amythest wizards didn't 'disappear'. They went into some tunnels, but then the two came back out carrying a nearly-dead patriarch. Then they left.

Edit: and then they went back in. I'm sorry, I didn't realize how stupid these wizards were. Or desperate.

I'm fairly sure there aren't going to be reinforcements. Literally everybody else had the chance to commit forces, and just about everybody didn't care. The only other forces i can remember are from Ostermark, and they are more 'pruning' their border with Sylvania. Which is a good couple months away from any direct use.

Annoyed that neither of the Amethysts still upright thought destroying Drakenhof was worth hanging about for. That little statue must be srs business.
