Markus is a great believer in the importance of fitness, and when you grumble, he throws on a pack twice the size of yours and literally runs circles around you for the entire day's march, which forces you to shut up.
Ahahahahaha poor Mathilde

You've always been somewhat on the small side and you doubt anything will change that, but beneath your robes the lean muscle of a warrior has replaced the soft flesh of a sheltered academic.
tiny but fierce confirmed

You run your hand over the bare ground nearest to you, and feel blades of grass tickle your fingers, and thank Ranald that the only victims of your spell are innumerable blades of grass that are now completely cut off from life-giving sunlight. Though that's the least of their troubles, because you're going to cover this entire hilltop in lamp oil and set it alight, just in case.
Let's stick to easier spells for a little while, shall we?

Advanced Greatsword (Beginner) acquired.
This is really not how I expected things to go at the start of the quest with the 6 Martial.

And, they say, they're calling for reinforcements from Zhufbar, apparently unwilling to let manlings so outdo them in heavy artillery.
That's a hilarious way of getting Dwarven artillery support.

[X] Death to the Dead!
-[X] Send for Battle Wizards from a College of Magic (pick which, can be taken multiple times).
--[X] Amethyst
-[X] It seems Countess Gabriella is content to sit back and watch events unfold. If your suspicions are correct, and you don't mind dabbling in what might be considered heresy, her personal intervention could be a great help.
-[X] Recommend to Van Hal:
--[X] Moot

Amethyst know more about killing undead than most orders.

And just for fun:

[jk] How to get burned
-[ ] Send for Battle Wizards from a College of Magic (pick which, can be taken multiple times).
--[] Grey Order
-[ ] An even more hurried and slapdash attempt at weaponizing the Qhaysh Juice.
-[ ] There is an awful lot of Dhar around. And it is, you've heard, easy to use and quite empowering...

Idea for after the Purge: Let's do something with Piety.
I like Ranald, and we amuse him too, so that's great and I'd like to see where things might go with us.

Karak Kadrin Slayers could prove useful in fighting any of the various monsters the Vampires might throw at us, and we can use our contacts to get results in the College.

Order of Light Battlewizards sound good, yes.

Otherwise, maybe try to get some Slayers from Karak Kadrin? They should be happy to fight an enemy as dangerous as vampires, right?

[Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Nope] There is an awful lot of Dhar around. And it is, you've heard, easy to use and quite empowering...

Edit: Created a new plan with recommendations to Van Hal.

The name is an entirely eyeballed attempt to say "Twilight of the Undead". Apologies to anyone who actually speaks German. The colleges are where we're most likely to get results. I went for both Light and Amethyst just in case the issue the grey order has with the light order is reciprocal. Jade Wizards are never bad to have around, but I'm more focused on making sure the undead get put down. As for the Van Hal options, The Witch Hunters should pay big dividends, and the Theogonist can provide even more "fuck the undead" power. As for Talabecland, they're already partially committed, so it should be easier to get them to add more forces than to get someone who's uncommitted to go in.

Obviously we want Light wizards, but I'm torn on what else to devote our attention towards. Heavens would tear through any flying forces they send to harass us, Life is always a good choice, Shadow is always a good choice in the debuffy way, you really can't go wrong throwing more Fire at a problem, etc.

[ ] Apparently there's dwarves gathering for some sort of revanchist crusade into the Badlands. Perhaps they could hone their edge against this fortress.
we'd have to phrase this really well, but if we could pull it off it'd be a MASSIVE force brought to bear

Alternately, perhaps this time could be better spent honing your own skills.

Before anything else, I think it's a good idea to do absolutely none of these.

Martial: 6+3+1+1+1+1+2=15 - You're no longer just a wizard that can wave a sword - you have become a warrior in your own right.

Martial stat has really gone up a lot over this quest.

Fitness (Proficient): +2 Martial
Greatsword (Proficient): +1 Martial; +3 additional to wielding greatswords.
Advanced Greatsword (Beginner)

Advanced Greatsword doesn't do anything just yet, but we have it.

So! It's starting to look like a good idea to train up the safter spells first next time. Not syaing it wasn't worth it to give this one a try right now, but during relatively safer times we can minimize risks by making that magic stat go from four to five first.

The merits of several reinforcement options like "More cannon" and "More fireballs" are obvious. So I'll go over two I think have useful hidden depths:

[ ] There's one neighbour that hasn't been asked for help. Maybe the Moot could contribute somehow?
If we personally assist with this, we probably pick up some info on the Moot which we've been missing (it's Stirland's "nearest" neighbor being practically within Stirland), and it seems like the sort of thing that would also make the Moot happy to be helping with. Recall the first post on Stirland's descriptions. "A Moot Issue: It seems a second curse is on Stirland - an eternal inability for it's Elector Counts to let go of the rich farmlands that once belonged to them, and were handed over to the Halflings of the Moot." Helping to resolve Stirland's land issues by going in a completely different direction, and asking for the Moot's support in this, would send a message that the Moot doesn't need to worry about the Moot Issue.
Whether Van Hal wants us to send that message, though, is another question.

[ ] What purpose could be more holy than this? Request aid from the Grand Theogonist.
If the Theogonist is talked into sending more Sigmarite priests in support, these priests will probably meet Kasmir on campaign and hear about Mathilde while her exploits with the Singing King are recent and first-hand. Great PR. Although I dunno if Kasmir might already be doing this on his own, or maybe we should suggest it to him rather than sending our own letter, or what.

For extra faux-German, make it Lichedämmerung. (The ä is pronounced like e.)

Would't we have more pull asking for battle wizards from our own college than from the others?

Pretty sure the OP said that only using safe spells won't help with advancing our magic stat.

There are safe spells, and then there are riskless spells. It's the difference between going to the gym and getting the heaviest weights and not letting anybody sane talk you out of it, going to the gym and getting weights that you can handle but that will challenge you, and staying at home and lifting bags of marshmallows.

[X] Plan Light and Death

There is a shit ton of Shyish around here meaning they would be able to throw a huge number of big spells around
