[X] Promote Internally - Best for morale, but brings nothing new to the table
This is the most pressing issue, and it's what we came here for.

Actually, I'm disappointed with Plan Wizardening, too. This is our last purge turn, we should be firming up our combat abilities before Drakenhof. I don't we're going to get anything combat-useful from Qhaysh Juice and it's far too late to get anything from Enchantment in time for the fight.
Mmhm, it was supposed to be a "if we think we're already prepared" plan when I drew it up alongside another "prepare more" plan.

[X] Plan Sword-wizard
-[X] Really Good Swords: You have achieved proficiency with the Greatsword. Future progress is possible, though it will take more effort to see results.
-[X] There's always room for more shadow spells in your repertoire. Send off to the Grey College for the basics on one of the others and get started on trying to learn it.
-[X] Shroud of Invisibility
-[X] Ranald's Blessing

I prefer Wizardening to Arm Thyself, but the votes are low enough that it might catch up without me, which lets me vote for something I like more.

This is a last minute prep-for-combat plan. Our preferred method of undead mook killing is a big sword, so I'm trying to get that to improve. And if a vampire pops up and tries to geek the mage like we're all in Shadowrun, then Shroud of Invisibility gives Mathilde a bit of time to run to her boyfriend Abelhelm. Plus, invisibility is just cool.

On second thoughts, this looks fun, even if Invisibility is hard, changing my plan vote.

Arm Thyself is okay but there's a lot of thing we'd better do instead of buying a pistol. Also Ranald's blessing would better be placed on something more interesting.

My problem with sword wizard is that it's unlikely to get us better at swording results. Right in the description of the action is "Future progress is possible, though it will take more effort to see results." It's likely that getting the Greatsword skill to increase again will take multiple actions to get a result out of it. Going off to buy a pistol will improve our ability in only one turn's worth of actions, especially since our skill with a pistol is currently equal to that with a greatsword.

I suspect the voters there are hoping for martial bonus from associated Fitness, not Greatsword itself.

[X] Plan Gaining Military Intelligence

If we want to help in Sylvania this is the right plan. Mathilde is not truly a warrior and the campaign is going to end soon anyway, so further Greatsword training is unwarranted at this point. We have skills, now is the time to use them.

Morale, and dogs are a genuine (police) force-multiplier. Promoting experienced watchman to formalise passing on local knowledge and experience isn't a bad thing, either.

Not keen on any of the leading plans. I've no interest in pistol shopping (and though Invisibility is great) more Greatsword training leaves me cold, too and IMO (though I dont think it's especially important for us), we'd learn more from Martial training the turn after Drakenhof.

Earning Dwarf Rep is probably a limited time opportunity, so that at least makes sense. But not keen on slogging through the hills again.

My issue with dwarf rep is that we got (1) for a super lucky double crit. Just joining the artillery isn't going to give us big gains like some people seem to think. It might even lose us rep when it's revealed that we don't always function at double crit level of ability.
[X] Dog Breeder - Stirland Terriers become part of the Watch
[X] Doctor - Watchmen learn first aid

I say we go for those two, both seen to be rare oportunities, dogs and not dieing tend to be good for morale.
Aren't both those options non-conventional picks that won't sit well with the conservative Watch?

I have to say I'm not really liking how meta we're getting.
I don't know anything about this setting at all. I know what I've learned during this quest and I've done some research on different kinds of magic within this setting so I know similar things as Mathilde and can more easily put myself in her position.
This also means I know absolutely nothing about these Skaven that get mentioned every once in a while (I feel no need to know more about them either). Appearently they are a huge threat. I'm not sure what Mathilde knows about them either (that is something I'd like to know), but as far as I can see in this quest, Mathilde certainly does not think of them as a threat in any way, seeing as they have not been mentioned in the main quest at any point.
Please, let's not focus on what might be or might become and instead focus on Mathilde and what she might do or think with the knowledge she has.
Thanks for reading.
I doubt Mathilde is aware of Skaven
(hidden secretive world-spanning underground religious slaver empire of feuding clans of paranoid mutagenic ratmen)
at all, other than perhaps having heard occasional reports of some Rat-Beastmen variant in big-city sewers (@BoneyM- does that seem reasonable?)

But I tend to agree about not using OOC meta knowledge, although knowing 'canon' Warhammer lore adds to the richness of the quest. Sometimes it's tricky to separate the two. The problem can be compounded by the timeline being before the RPG supplements, different rules, and Boney having their own take on a few things, and has definitely led me to making a few incorrect assumptions before now.

I think we should look at uconventional options in a case by case basis, because while we know the convetional choices are safe be their very nature we can't know how they would react to the unconvetional ones.
For example they complained about wanting better conditions and not liking the sewers so while the doctors seens like a good choice the smugler would be bad right now, and how the dogs are an stirladian breed and I fell even tought those option are unconvetional they would result in an overall positive effect.

Action Plan:
Leading
  • [*] Plan Arm Thyself
-[*] Gun Shopping: You're currently using a pistol that was a spare for the pistoliers. Visit Nuln to upgrade. (will trigger a subvote next turn for what type and how many)
    --[*] Ranald's Blessing
-[*] Practice, Practice, Practice: Having been thrown into the deep end of imperial politics, it would probably be a good idea to brush up on your skills and internalize the lessons you've learned (choose which trait; can be taken multiple times; will be more effective if you've used the trait a lot lately).
    --[*] Martial
Runners up

  • [*] Plan Sword-wizard
-[*] Really Good Swords: You have achieved proficiency with the Greatsword. Future progress is possible, though it will take more effort to see results.
-[*] There's always room for more shadow spells in your repertoire. Send off to the Grey College for the basics on one of the others and get started on trying to learn it.
    -[*] Shroud of Invisibility
    -[*] Ranald's Blessing
  • [*] Plan Wizardening
-[*] Enchantment: You're naturally talented at enchantment; so far, this just amounts to being able to make your desk meow for about an hour. See if you can improve on that, or at least figure out a way to make that useful.
-[*] Qhaysh Juice: Whatever it is, it's dripping out of the box at a steady rate. You've got several gallons of the stuff and it's still coming out. It's got to be good for something.
    --[*] Ranald's Blessing
  • [*] Plan Gaining Military Intelligence
-[*] Countess Gabriella von Bundebad appeared to quite well informed, arrange some meetings with her.
    --[*] Ranald's Blessing
-[*] Attach yourself to the army so you can join in the final push of the Purge of the Haunted Hills. (specify which regiment to join; can join the artillery under Narfi of the Throng of Zhufbar).
    --[*] General Staff

Having Medics is pretty different from expecting heavily injured ex-soldiers to become part-time sawbones. They were hired to keep the peace, not stitch people up.

The issue as I see it is that the Watch as it currently exists hates anything that will lead to significant change in the way that things have always been done. That includes becoming part-time doctors just as much as part-time dog breeders.
