Hey I'd be super up for a Loremaster to show up. Means we can compare and contrast sword techniques. As funny it is to say that last sentence. Its very rare to get to hang out with a Loremaster.

  • His driving duty is to protect his homeland and Ulthuan as a whole, not the entire world, he might take a better safe than sorry apporahc to us messing with the things said homeland needs to not sink
I mean if he does totally shut us out we still have the option of going for the Dark Elves instead. It would be morally distasteful, but making a compromise with one evil to enable a far greater good is pretty much Grey SOP.

If he tries to shut us down I imagine it would not be in a form that just lets us walk right into the arms of the Druchi, that sounds rather lacking in foresight if you are a paranoid elf. Put pressure on the Emperor, the Colleges etc... I just don't see Eltharion the Grim of all people just telling us to shut down and walking.

The last statement about pressure was that Ulthuan doesn't have much to pressure the Empire with.

They don't have a coast line for them to raid, see Marienburg.

They can't remove any aid, because they haven't sent any since Teclis left.

The project itself includes the Karaz Ankor, so if they press it anyway it might be War of Vengeance: The Reckoning.

I don't think Ulthuan will even show us what the stick is, unless things go south and they have to threaten to use it.

They have so many carrots to offer...

Not to mention the possibility of them actually approving of what is being done.

I imagine Boris and Queen Marrisith might have some words to say about it too. The only way we could make it more of a bad idea for Ulthuan to force the issue is if we included Bretonnia in the project.

I think the only stick I can realistically see them use is to set up a second, rival waystone project, one that is completely under their control—probably based in Marienburg, or maybe Bretonnia—which they can then use to cultivate influence and power amongst the Old World nations, exchanging magical secrets for various political and economic privileges—and even then, that's still a win, because it means new waystones are being built.

If I'm not mistaken, this is probably the point in the timeline where Eltharion tried to wipe out all the Greenskins in the Badlands.

So K8P is probably (in a few years) about to be hit by the collateral of the mega-Waaagh that forms in response to said Greenskin genocide.
If it were happening at any point around the current time it'd be a great chance to get him to lead greenskins into every threat to the civilized races that lives anywhere near the badlands.

Kinda do hope that the Empire will be as welcoming. Currently, the mindset towards elves is likely... slight animosity, due to the whole Marienburg enclave.
I imagine there's too much surprise and curiosity for that to manifest, really. Elves are known about but never-before-seen by the vast majority of the Empire's citizens, and what little they know is basically "if they aren't looking for a fight, don't go picking one". If they offer some silver or exotic goods, then great! If they're clearly just curious and exploring, then there's no harm.

For any Imperial citizen with a weapon, seeing an elf is basically "do not fuck with them".

Hmm, I guess Mathilde is Raven?
Johann is cyborg, duh.
...I can't of any more good ones.

Lord, who would even be Starfire?
Contenders:

Hubert: Flies, throws energy
Borek: Significantly Orange of late, scantily clad
Deathfang: Alien royalty, very tough and strong, flies, throws energy, scantily clad, refuses to let the inquities of the world change them

Possible contenders amongst Mathilde's retinue include Adela (starbolts fireballs, personality) and Panoramia (personality, eagerness to interact and learn, tanned skin color).

Amongst other Waystone Project participants, Zlata might be the best fit personality-wise.

First, it was the Ar-Ulric. Now it's Eltharion. So who'll be the next worthy to ask to meet?

Grey Apprentice: "Um, sir? Some guy named Valten is here. Says he's Sigmar's Chosen and needs to speak to Lady Magister Weber."
Algard (with a dead-eyed stare): "Of course he does."

Yeah, that line was me partially throwing in what I suspect is the most fundamental difference between the two settings. In 40k, the Chaos Gods have almost absolute dominance over their spheres, leaving only abject asceticism for the forces of ''''Good'''' to exist within. The monstrosities of the Imperium's zealotry, the horrifyingly rigid and petrifying castes of the Eldar, the maximum bass boosted Soviet anthem Greater Good of the Tau, these are monuments to desperation built in the tiny gaps left between the overlapping spheres of the Chaos Gods. There is nothing that can be done to battle Chaos that does not also feed Chaos. The only room for a War God that is not Khorne is Khaine. The only room for a God of Healing is in Nurgle's cage. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

In Fantasy, the Chaos Gods are held at bay, or at least were for long enough that interlopers were able to entrench themselves between mortal beings and Their dominance. That allows Gods like Myrmidia, the Mistress of the Battlefield, the Queen of Muses, the Mother of Invention, to have planted Their flags in the domains of the Chaos Gods without becoming twisted mirrors of them. It lets those Gods shelter Their people without dominating them, and that allows the many peoples of the world to meet and mingle without seeking the extinction of each other. In every timeline Man and Elf and Dwarf stood together, and even in the darkest of them, the planet broke before the Great Alliance did.

I would argue it's also in part that the biggest ''''Good'''' faction deliberately snuffed out any other sparks of hope for the galaxy it could before collapsing in on itself. The Imperium butchered race after race and human polity after human polity if they dared stand against them because, in the Emperor's eyes, there was no possible path to survival that didn't deny the chaos gods in every single imaginable way. In the age of strife, there was the barest glimmer of hope that there might have formed something that could challenge the gods while they were still trying to get used to the loss of the Edict. But then the Emperor looked into the warp, and saw what the chaos gods want everyone to see. He saw absolute dominance, and he was terrified. So he snuffed out that hope, being unable to imagine there was a way for something good to be born.
