Not-Plan Get Cookbook
[ ] [LIBRARY] Barak Varr booksellers: Cooking, two other topics.
[ ] [PURCHASE] Books on cooking: Extensive and Esoteric Halfling (250gc), Extensive and Esoteric Bretonnian (250gc)

I would love to write the book next turn with a +20 modifier but we only have access up to Extensive with Bretonnian and I'm not sure if we have access to Halfling books yet (at least from Barak Varr)

Did we ever get the fallout from returning Karak Vlag and being declared a dwarf from those other than Belegar/K8P? I recall the High King actually wanted to meet with us after the Expedition returned but we had rode off that morning. If not, I wouldn't be surprised if checking in on KaK might lead to something interesting with Thorgrim...

For lack of familiarity with cookbooks you'd decided to use your books on chemistry as a model for how to describe the cooking process, and while it produces a set of instructions that could technically be followed to produce something that is technically edible, it's very far from your finest work

Ok so it looks like we need to make peace with Nordland if we want to do bulk trading with the elves. They have the largest port in the empire, trade and have land access to Middleland, Ostland , Hochland, and Kislev through the sea. We could buy charcoal in bulk keep it in a warehouse Salezmund. But in order to do this we will need to make pease with Nordland, Middleland, and elves. So the best way we have is if we can bribe them with money or more likely we will have to favor trade with the Elector counts. The other options I see is the road to Salezmund the elves have to invade Salezmund or we go through Marienburg. Since Mathilde hates Marienburg, Nordland seems to be our best bet for creating a trade route.

Mathilde doesn't hate Marienburg?

She doesn't like them on geopolitical grounds; but I don't think she has any personal animus.

They have books which they are not sharing with the Colleges in spite of being rightful imperial citizens, I think that is pretty personal grounds for dislike, then there is the whole 'they might have poisoned some dwarfs' thing and ambush on the Skull River, if either of those is true it's grounds for hate.

Lastly they tried to stop a project in which she is invested both personally and politically by blackmail. Between all this I think we are into deep and rather personal dislike territory at least.

Boney's said before that Middenland would rather there be no trade at all then Nordland profits from any of it. They wouldn't be fans of trade going through Nordland.

Let's say it like this. There's a reason the idea of making a magical road through a swamp is still somewhat on the table and it's not because people think it's going to be easy...

You've met Loremaster Okri of Karak Eight Peaks once before. Pay him a visit and see how his great ambitions for heavily-armed Ironbreakers delivered by Gyrocarriage are going.

I'm not picklepikkl, but I do have a quote on Middenland-Nordland relations and trade:

Yeah, remember that time when Middenland sent their holy warriors into Nordland with the explicit goal of massacring ten thousand citizens of Nordland? Even if they weren't totally comfortable with it and they ended up relieved instead of outraged when it went sideways on them, that they saw it as a price they were willing to pay at all is indicative that Middenland-Nordland relations aren't exactly rosy. Middenland and Nordland fight like two cats in a sack on religious, cultural, economic, and racial grounds. Middenland wouldn't just rather they get the trade profits instead of Nordland, Middenland would see no trade as preferable to trade that profits Nordland. And both they and Laurelorn have pretty strong grounds to paint Nordland as the villain in this saga, so would firmly reject the framing that Nordland's former economic prosperity should be restored at all, since it was built on stolen land and felled lornalim.

Hey, remember the time when Drakwald collapsed and Middenland was able to snip off a big chunk of it and greatly increase their power and wealth and prestige? Because Middenland probably does. Their God is Ulric, not the status quo.
