Zhufbar rescued Mathilde + Abelhelm, brought down Castle Drakenhof, built Steam Wagons for the Northern Expedition, and now enabled our bookmining with their exceptionally-rolling Ironbreakers.

I suspect that if they ever display a need for aid or a Mathildean intervention of some kind, the thread will descend on the problem like the blazing fist of an angry avenging God.

Really, if you think about it, showing up and having the first Ironbreakers in-story roll well enough to block a varghulf, a terrorgeist and a ghoul king without losing a single dwarf is its own reward

It's like they don't understand thread mechanics

While the favours gained by the rewriting action itself will probably not be very high, our mushroom book is the kind of thing that will give 'pending favours - waiting for implications to prove what a good find it was' on our character sheet, as the Colleges begin using it to help Journeymen. It might take a turn or two (or twenty, if we need a social action to follow up on this) but the total payoff will likely be more than just the ~3 favours from improving the rating of the book itself. Paying a halfling ghostwriter to do the work sounds like a simple enough solution.
I should note that when I say ghostwriter I don't mean an actual ghost (this is the kind of world where that might need to be clarified).

Skull River Ambush is an easy number one for me. I've been wanting to know what the hell happened since we first heard about it.

Getting to know our wizards is always a good thing. Especially such a valuable one.

Time to give Max some head pats. Also I'm interested in seeing if he's come up with anything impressive.

Honestly, I feel like the right thing to do with the paper might be to publish as is but commission a halfling to write up a book of easy mushroom recipes that fit our specifications to accompany it. Costs some money, but it gets the theory to the theorists, the mushrooms to the apprentices and wouldn't take much time.

That being said, I could easily understand either if figuring out what the mechanics for that would even be were too much of a hassle for Boney's time or if he ruled we'd still have to spend an extra AP for that, so maybe not.

Between communicating those specifications, confirming that whatever they end up writing actually works, and making sure a mushroom recipe book ends up in all the College libraries, this would save only a little bit of time in exchange for possibly becoming a massive timesink if one of the new recipes turns out to not work for some reason.

I have no doubt the Vlag/KaK/Wissenland actions will open up some fascinating new subplots to explore. I don't think Mathilde has the time to do much about them right now, though.

To be clear I do not think this is worth it on the simple CF merits for us, it is the difference between 4 and 6-7 AP unless we crit, but this things is not about our AP, it's about the use it gets out there for the Journeymen of the Colleges, the more people see and use it the more3 good it will do
