So my ideas for orbs of sorcery. Finish book next turn earn college credit, maybe do something else, build seeviscope to see reaction, and pay for power stones from all 8 colleges. Than turn afterward study reaction to creating orbs stone and flex to colleges.

we could also make some enchantments or staffs and then sell them to the colleges for CF.

That's always been an option.

You know now that we actually have something to spend CF on we might want to take those back-fill options like the Skaven tech and the organ vat so we can see how much CF they might be worth and spend them.

We already got our reward for the Skaven tech (the apparition stuff), but the organ vat can give us CF. Maybe.

True, going off the front page it looks like this:

Pending College Favours: Salamanders at the Altdorf Zoo, Skaven organ-vat (split credit with Gretel), Anti-Waaagh Lectures
Long-term pending: Economic & Strategic Benefits of K8P, Mathilde's MAPP

I do not think the long term ones are on the cards, but we might want to poke the Salamanders as well

We could make up the deficit real quick, we'd just need to provoke a Waaagh into attacking the Empire to give Mathilde's lectures some field-testing.

I do have to ask, since I don't remember seeing it seriously answered. Is an Orb powered staff possible? Because I would honestly prefer a general use item over something specific like a Battle Altar. On the other hand, I get the sense that the Orbs generally need large scale enchantments for their full effectiveness?

Cython seems more suited to Tor Lithanel where they live on novelty and prestige. We can still get its opinion on obscure subjects, the question is how much we value others having that chance.

Personally, I prefer the efficiency of the We, since the library is ultimately still inside a dwarfhold.

"but no galaxy flex moment" is a dealbreaker for me, so I'd want to take the former (and then sell the Orbs back to the Colleges).
Same! I can't imagine not going for the flex. Like, it's gonna take a bit of time to get all the favors necessary for that, but we're in no real rush and we don't need to get them all at the same time. Even if the only benefit would be watching Algard go boggled-eyed, it would be worth it.

At any rate... I anticipate that the next book-obtaining vote will probably see us getting stuff from the College, if only to get Powerstones and Apparitions. Those are probably a lock-in... Oh, we probably want Liminal Realms too because of the Albion thing. As for the last one... Forest Spirits? Aethyr? Probably one of those.

One problem is that an Orb is the size of a human head, which makes its incorporation in a staff not really practical. I think it's also overkill, and that that much magic would just burn out the staff.

An Orb of Sorcery is the size of a persons head.

I don't think it's physically practical to have that on the end of a staff, even if it was magically useful.

The Waystone Project, you mean?😉 Because if we mess with the Webway, we're not ready for the Eldar retaliation that would follow😏
I've mixed them up so much there is only once choice left.

I'd like to propose our end goal for this quest is for Mathilde to fix the Polar Warp Gates, shutting out Chaos from the world, and allowing access to the Webway. In this way the civilisations of Mallus shall join the galactic stage, heirs to the Old Ones.

We've got a long while before we're ready for the Orbs of Sorcery creation experiment -- we have 22 CF, pay 1 per turn, and gain a variable amount per turn that is usually around 4-5, so call it 4 turns to be pessimistic -- so there's time to do at least some of the other AV research, assuming we can spare the AP, before the Colleges start really wanting to know how the fuck we did that and it will be politically desirable for us to write the goddamn AV book like, right now. We have ~3 AP remaining in that tech tree assuming we skip the "make AV into a weapon" option (enchanting & powerstone creation, but we need to learn how to make powerstones first), because I honestly cannot see a conceivable application of AV as a weapon that is better than turning it into the most powerful death machines that the Empire and the Karaz Ankor have to offer.
Tbh, while our AV discoveries are very valuable look into nature of magic, they are shit at actually creating actionable plan for replicating the accomplishment without some utter fuckery going on. Its actually hilarious how close to Fozzicks tome her book on "how to make Orbs of Sorcery" would be.

Well, least for doing it legally. If you are willing to do some demonology or make a warp breach the techniques have a general application.

Hmm... Cython is 5 votes over locals and I actually prefer it to the We just for the sheer deep lore it could give so taking out the We vote for now. If Locals comes close again I will put it back

[X] Cython

Hold up, can't reply cuz fone but Cython killed the whole ass clan skyre? Not just the local branch?
Edit: oh ok, jist locals.
