@Boney

1. Do the We use our library?

Nobody uses the library yet. The We do occasionally request books, but giving up a book after they have it is conceptually similar to death for them, so books are purchased for them out of their accumulated silk funds.

2. What's the range of Animus Imprisoned and how is it functionally different from Life's End bar the latter's willpower test? At the moment it reads like a reliable instant kill spell if successfully cast.

Animus Imprisoned requires prolonged physical contact, Life's End can just boop the soul right out of someone from across a room.

3. Can Mathilde see souls?

Yes.

4. Can Deathsight see the souls of living people?

No, but it could if the physical body of the owner of the soul wasn't in the way.

5. Is Power of Truth a brain spell?

Yes.

Do we actually want the Drakenhof books for reading material or just to sequester any dark stuff? Because if it's the latter, we can pay AV to send Thorek have fun with lava.
We do. We can use the dark lore to develop countermeasures and to provide a smokescreen for our own Liber Mortis knowledge. Furthermore, there's quite possibly many non-evil books in there looted from Imperial libraries, plus there may be non-knowledge loot like silk sheets, non-rusted metal objects of any kind, and good-quality doors.

I get most of your arguments. But not this one. How does spending an AP on it now save us an AP? Isn't the net the same?
If we do a recruitment action or two later, we'll have to do another Lay the Foundarions action afterwards to integrate the new tradition(s). By doing the recruitment now, we'll already have them as part of the foundations right away.

This doesn't mean we won't do more recruitment later on down the line, but if we do, we'll likely want to do an entire chunk of recruitment rather than one or two at a time. There's a real worry we'll get sort of locked in to our current set of participants for a while due to not wanting to re-spend the AP on the Lay the Foundations action; while we might do it a second time I very much doubt we'll ever do it a third time. Better to try and have enough participants in on the ground floor that we can go a long way before we need to do a second round of recruitment, or if we're lucky, not needing to do a second round at all.

There's more than dark stuff in there. It was the capital fortress of a country ruled by immortal egotist conqueror-thieves with a natural interest for academic and intellectual pursuits.

:D I love the phrasing.

I thought Boney explicitly explained that that's not how it works. Can't find a quote for you though.

Three lores of magic that can bust through invisibility then. If Lore of Shadows' spells weren't so wonderfully good I'd say it was getting cheated.

This would be the GM's call, and personally, I'd say that Shroud of Invisibility would trump Deathsight here. Shroud of Invisibility doesn't operate by making the caster impermeable to light or anything like that, it works by magically making them unable to be seen, and it seems correct to me that they'd still be unable to be seen by someone under the effect of Deathsight.

You'd only need to relay the foundations if the new recruit comes in with something fundamentally impossible to reconcile with the foundation that you had previously built.

I kinda missed the discussion, but why is the Sunken Palace winning in the EIC vote?

I thought that we wanted Eonir trade first

I think the pertinent point arising from the last update is that if we leave Eonir trade alone long enough, other people are alreadly thinking about it and will get it done for us. Very efficient AP-wise! :)

Jreengus' plan sounds nice. Clear everything off so we can finally stop being buried under high interest side projects.

[X] Plan: No Recruitment

Oh, it says so right underneath the slots. I think this is enough looking at magic today. I need rest. Sorry for the bother Boney.

So were most people aware that we wouldn't have to redo the foundations for new recruits, and still wanted to pay a likely surcharge to get them in beforehand, or was Derpmind's misunderstanding widespread?

Well either way, here's a plan pretty similar to the fatherless variant, except it drops investigating AV powerstone interactions (Which potentially seems like something we could do with probably Max or Egrimm later if we have him learn to make powerstones with us) for WEBMAT enchanting interactions in order to pick up another AP. I put that AP on apparitions with Johann, but could be convinced to change either of the WEBMAT choices, I just really don't think it makes sense to forgo an extra AP here when the cost to get it is so small.

[X] Plan Don't Disregard WEBMAT, Acquire More AP (Fatherless)
-[X] One Overwork Action
-[X] WEB-MAT: Hire someone as a full-time Gyrocopter pilot (Adela)
-[X] Lay the foundations: work with the current members of WEB-MAT and the Waystone Project to build a single unified framework for understanding the Waystones.
--[X] COIN: The Gambler
-[X] Attempt to bring a Major House or Ward into the Waystone Project (Tindomiel)
-[X] Branulhune's ability to disappear and reappear at a thought allows entirely new forms of combat. Continue to work on them.
-[X] Study an artefact: Ghyran Nut
--[X] With Panoramia
-[X] EGRIMM: Experiment with integrating the Vitae into enchantments.
-[X] WEB-MAT: Hunt an apparition with a member of WEB-MAT (Johann, Red Rider)
-[X] EIC: Have the Hochlander set up a shadow headquarters for the EIC in the Sunken Palace.
-[X] KAU: Decide who your library staff will consist of, and go about recruiting them.
-[X] SERENITY: Write a book: Windsoak Mushrooms (1/2)

[X] Plan: No Recruitment with Arcane (Marks and Khazalid)
[X] Plan: No Recruitment with Arcane (Marks and Spells)
[X] Plan: No Recruitment
[X] Plan Disregard WEBMAT, Acquire AP (Fatherless)
