While I disagree with Adventwolf on how to handle Caliban, the Matriach Assault tank is a legitimately terrible design. Its horribly undergunned compared to its contemporaries and far too expensive.
Then how are you going to handle Caliban just say no and then react to what ever happens? Cause that is the only other option here because there is no way we are paying or giving those people back.

I've changed my plan to include the write ups I posted earlier.

@MonkeyTypewriter since there are now more plans then just coyote16able's do any of them appeal to you more?

@Silversun17 are you going to vote?

@prometheus110 would I be asking to much if I requested that you made an info post with the rules, stats and costs for Helghan tech?

That's a lot of work, unfortunately. It could really only be done after this quest ends, TBH.

I'll try give them rules from now on just to minimize work in the future, but I won't be doing it for existing items

Frankly I would drop the Carrier as well. We need to focus on replacing the Workhorse first before we start making the next ship class..

Also what do you mean stats and cost for tech?

Fair enough, at the very least I was hoping for the rules on our counter-grav systems and what diffrances they had from normal hovercraft.

Eeeehhh... if more people want me to change it I will, but I like the idea of having them at long last and no one is telling me they will change their votes to my plan if I do so I have no reason to remove them and for now they stay.

Except the Carrier won't be built soon. We need to focus on the Hasta before we can shift AP points to carriers so making them right now would be a wasted effort until more Hastas are created. But if you do keep them at least switch away from the anomaly as again that is just a shiny mystery box when we have things that will actually help the Aurigans instead of maybe finding something that might help them. It is also just asking about getting it not actaully getting it as the wording of the action doesn't imply we would recover it the same turn. Though it may be recovery as well. It still is not worth it until after all other mining operations are done.

I'm fishing for research bonuses more then anything with that action, who knows we could get salvage rights to an underwater SLDF base or something.

if a normal hovertank gets hit my something like autocannon fire they turn into a giant hockey puck since they floating on a cushion of air.
Is that actually in the rules for BT as I'm genuinely curious about it and don't know the rules for the most part.

Also are you going to vote?

And that is the problem with the action. First of all we have no idea what it was and the "story" is a crashed ship not some secret base or anything and if there was a base it would have been revealed by the Argo that had every base in the periphery including secret unknown bases. But it never was. And no we wouldn't get salvage rights it would go to the Aurigans not us. And we would get more research bonuses from making the Pact into a research one than we would get from some randomly crashed dropship. This is why I am calling it a Shiny object people ignore decent and useful actions for things that look cool and it more often than not bites us in the ass or was something that could have waited.

prometheus110 has yet to give us any useless options so it's not going to be a trap or anything like that and we will get something out of it, but lets say I'm wrong can you please remind me of our previous non write-in actions that have bitten us in the collective ass because I can't remember them.

I am talking in general dude. This is an issue in all quests. People take shiny options and leave productive actions alone. And I didn't say it was a trap I said it was unneeded at the time because it is. What are we going to do with a bonus if it does give one excalty? We already have all our options in work for research so the bonus would not affect them and because we already have used the massive stockpile for a permanent bonus I doubt we will get anything that is worth more to the Aurigans than 70 million C-bills of valuable minerals that they can use to pay off their massive debts.

And in the end it comes down to wanting to do it before something vital crops up there's no life or death rush on the mining and I want to do it, again just like with the carrier design if I have people willing to vote for my plan tell me they want the change I will consider it but since right now it's just you telling me to drop it because you don't like it and I doubt your suddenly going to drop your plan to vote for mine I'm not going to change it am I.

Considering I hate the other plan way more that is why I am trying to get you to change. And yeah there kind of is a life and death situation for the Aurigans dude. They need to make payments every year and they owe a lot of money. It also increases the development of the planets and the Aurigans as a whole.

Which part do hate more tying up most of our action points for the next few turns, the bad optics of having one of our cruisers setting in orbit around Charybdis in the hopes one of the "settlers" will grow a brain and call for help, coyote16able pushing their KF obsession or having our military requisitioning someone's vanity project and the tank equivalent of an AK?

@prometheus110 is this right will the Aurigans be in trouble if we don't help with those two mining sites this turn?

That's a good thing you know because if we get any good Luke from that down ship in the ocean we could keep it if we pay for it because they have to pay debts. If we do help them build up their industry that means they're in a better position to negotiate at the tra

Between the fact that the Reach suffered less damage during the war then canon, the Helghan Republics support of humanitarian efforts during the war, help rebuilding after, Current support in upgrading Mechdur's factories to Helghan standard which ends this turn, previous Mineral Exports, ORDI making pirate attacks less intensive and our current training and trade with the Aurigans means they are not in as a bad situation as you believe.

But they are not going to collapse and fail to pay the Taurians in just one year as we focus on something else.

coyote16able pushing their KF obsession or having our military requisitioning someone's vanity project and the tank equivalent of an AK?
The KF obsession has been discussed multiple times and you have been told multiple times on why it's a good idea for a variety of reasons and that just because I want to do it doesn't mean I want to get away from our own FTL drive or think it's worse then the KF-Drive. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

The Matriarch well I'm not going to say it's the best tank hell 2/5th of it's weight is armor and yes it doesn't have the heaviest load out but for what it is it has a good range bracket. And the Leo well AK-47 of tanks is pretty high praise for a tank.

yes indeed they do but I want the support of the other ORDI nations first before starting on KF research get that and I will back it 100% unless something life or death comes up.

And the Leo well AK-47 of tanks is pretty high praise for a tank.
And yet it's not in use by most modern military's outside of the third world is it, it's a militia focused design and I prefer Silversun17's Lynx as it continues our use of counter-grav tech rather then a technological downgrade because the metal used in the Leo is tougher then the old tanks.

Personally I would ether get rid of the lasers and replace them with a second AC/10 and more ammo or drop the autocannon, machine gun and medium laser in favour of a second heavy laser, a small laser and more heat sinks as it is it's a slow block of metal that should focus on one weapon type and doesn't fit our current military doctrine.

The Matriarch is horribly undergunned compared to its direct peer competitor, the Behemoth. Swap both for the Lnx and add in the ASF
Would you be willing to vote for a different plan instead of trying to get coyote16able to go with different requisitions?

The using up of our points and while I don't like the colonist action just because it is wasteful I don't care too much either way.

And no it won't kill them but they owe hundreds of millions to a few billion and the development will go a long way towards making them more sustainable. It is also far more helpful to the Aurigans instead of the shipwreck which may or may not help them. The rest of the actions I have said my part on why I don't like them.

No it is not because it is very unlikley that what ever is there is worth the same amount as the other actions. And again it would be to the Aurigans with us maybe getting a small part of it because it would still belong to them.

They owe hundreds to a few billion dude. And all those factors you state doesn't change the fact they are the poorest nation and need far more help to build up. And the quicker that build-up is done the more it compounds. Which is why wasting an action for a treasure hunt when we still have things that would actually help them is such a bad idea. My point was never that they would fall apart my point is that we can do more good for them by doing those mining actions first then we can do the crash site. Because it is not going anywhere and whatever it gives us will be no more and no less useful if we get it later.
Also fusion is generally not great on tanks. Do we have other 100 ton tank designs?
As far as I know nope, unless there's one lurking in the design PM which I don't have access to.
The only other is a Chemical Laser equipped fuel cell tank that is a cheap death ball.

yes indeed they do but I want the support of the other ORDI nations first before starting on KF research get that and I will back it 100% unless something life or death comes up.
Developing KF research building jumpships then selling them along with the FTL communications network will do wonders for getting support from the ORDI.
And yet it's not in use by most modern military's outside of the third world is it, it's a militia focused design and I prefer Silversun17's Lynx as it continues our use of counter-grav tech rather then a technological downgrade because the metal used in the Leo is tougher then the old tanks.
Well the AK-47 yes isn't in use but it's descendants are and like John Moses Browning's M1911 the AK-47 is the obvious influence or father of many of the worlds militaries main rifle like the galil.

well originally it was suppose to have a PPC but that meant way to much heat and weight. The AC/10 was for ranged fire power while I went with the lasers as back up weapons for the AC/10 in case it was destroyed or ran out of ammo the machine gun was just tacked on for anti-infantry work. As for doctrine It's purpose is in the name Main Defense Tank it's main purpose is to be a Helghan Militia Vehicle while in the standard army it's more of a support tank sitting on hills and engaging at range in support of attacks and in defenses.

It's a response to mechs both in how the Helghans see battles are done and in how they have seen the capabilities of and how mechs are used. It's going to evolve of course not going to leave it static but that's for the future.

And this turn would be the third year at most they would have to pay that since ORDI was formed.

Also what do you know you're making claims like their fact when it's very unlikely that they are something that I don't know how many time it's been stated You've been called out on.

They have been dealing with this since the end of their own Civil War it is just now that we helped set a limit and amount on it. And as to how it is because I talk to and ask the QM these things. He is open to questions and there even is a discord now if people don't want to do PMs.
