Broad Strokes Ideology: Pro-Aurigan Democratic Socialists
Desired Form of Government: Socialist nation-state organised around direct democracy
Notable Systems: Cavalor, Gunthar, Renown
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [Warm], Aurigan Coalition [😍], Taurian Concordat [lukewarm], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
Surprising few given their name, Aurigan Federalists are largely defined by their goal to leave the Celestial Mandate and join the Aurigan Coalition as full members. A popular ideology across the Mandate-Aurigan border, Aurigan Federalists have derived legitimacy from the peaceful integration of Hurik and Ward into the Aurigan state, with support largely coming from the lower classes. One of the most broadly popular groups in the area even before the civil war, Aurigan Federalists seek greater economic and political freedoms, even to the point of determining their own leaders via direct democracy.
Initially dedicated to changing Cavalor's planetary politics via peaceful means with minimal violence against others, repeated crackdowns by the Mandate combined with a singular lack of success prompted them to use increasingly more pointed methods in the leadup to war. Radicalised by the spiralling cycle of violence and relatively close to the Republic's own ideology, Cavalor's Federalists received a great deal of support from the ORDI as a whole and the Helghan Republic in particular; many hundreds of weapons and dozens of vehicles ending up in their hands before the civil war. Following the outbreak of violence, Federalists moved quickly to seize numerous sites across the planet, sympathetic locals and Helghan "trainers" assisting them greatly.
Broad Strokes Ideology: [Numerous, but universally pro-Capellan Confederation]
Desired Form of Government: [Numeorus, but generally compatible with the Capellan Confederation]
Notable Systems: [Numerous, including Decatur, Buenos Aries, Niomede, and Sax ]
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [Lukewarm], Aurigan Coalition [ambivalent], Taurian Concordat [ambivalent], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent], Capellan Confederation [Warm to 😍]
Description:
Not to be confused with Concordism or Aurigan Federalism, Confederationism is a grab-bag of various ideologies and movements bound together solely by their desire to rejoin the Capellan Confederation. Driven by opposition to the Mandate, latent nationalism, support and encouragement from the Capellan State, and covetousness of the Confederation's incredible economic growth in recent years, Confederationists desire to rejoin the Capellan Confederation above all else. The most widespread movement involved in the Mandate civil war in terms of how many followers it can claim to have and how many systems it has reached, Confederationists are as varied as their systems of origin but universally despise the Celestial government,
Present since the Mandate split off from the Capellan Confederation, Confederationists have been involved in a very quiet, very violent struggle for numerous years, only recently gaining the support needed to make a true go of splitting off thanks to the Mandate's increasing repression triggering an ideological landslide. Supplied by the ORDI and supported with intelligence from the same, Confederationists began their part in the civil war by quickly capturing the systems of Decatur, Buenos Aries, Niomede, and Sax utilizing advanced tactics, sympathetic locals, and fifth columnists inside the Mandate Armed Forces.
Broad Strokes Ideology: State-atheist republicanism that seeks to destroy the nobility as a class
Desired Form of Government: Unitary semi-presidential republic
Notable Systems: Xieng Khouang, Madras, Menke
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [lukewarm], Aurigan Coalition [Cold], Taurian Concordat [cool], Magistracy of Canopus [cool], Capellan Confederation [ambivalent]
Description:
Imported straight from the Federated Suns Outback, Neo-Jacobinism is a revolutionary political movement that desires nothing less than the total destruction of the nobility and the establishment of a highly-centralised republican state. Though less secular due to its growth in a nation ambivalent to organised religion, Mandate Neo-Jacobinism matches the original's patriotism and desire for wealth redistribution from the nobility and exceeds its zealousness for state intervention in an otherwise free market. Most popular with the middle class, Mandate Neo-Jacobins are split almost fifty-fifty over whether to join the Concordat or to Confederation, and the resulting arguments have been... loud.
Organised primarily through middle-class haunts such as cafes, Neo-Jacobins started out happy to provide violent resistance to the Mandate and only grew in strength as the state attempted to crack down. Responsible for numerous assassinations and firebombing attacks even before the civil war kicked off, the Mandate's Neo-Jacobin movement succeeded in securing Xieng Khouang due in large part to Capellan weaponry. After capturing the system, the Neo-Jacobins proceeded to arrest, try, and punish numerous Mandate nobles for their crimes; vast amounts of wealth were redistributed in the process, which in turn triggered a large-scale flight of the nobility from surrounding systems.
Broad Strokes Ideology: They want to join the Taurian Concordat
Desired Form of Government: Constitutional monarchy
Notable Systems: Mitchel, Jackson, Victoria
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [lukewarm], Aurigan Coalition [lukewarm], Taurian Concordat [😍], Magistracy of Canopus [lukewarm], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
Coming as a shock to no one given their self-selected name, Concordists are essentially the same as the Outbacks Taurian Federalists and are so for many of the same reasons. Defined almost entirely by their overarching goal to exit the Celestial Mandate and join the Taurian Concordat, Concordists are found throughout the Mandate-Concordat border and beyond and enjoy support among almost all classes. One of the more orthodox rebel groups active in the Mandate Civil War and friendly to the Concordat besides, the Concordists received heavy backing from the Taurian state despite not inhabiting worlds once claimed by the nation.
Seeking everything from the Concordat's much-vaunted political freedom to improved education, healthcare, security, and all-around wealth, Concordists wish to partake in the same economic miracle that the Taurian Concordat has enjoyed and have not been afraid to make it known. Though the Concordists initially attempted to use peaceful means such as strikes and protests to achieve their aims, they quickly found themselves opposed by both the Mandate government and local nationalists; numerous people murdered in clashes with both. Radicalised by the violence, Concordists quickly proved willing to arm themselves and have spent much of the time since the Civil War began embroiled in an insurgency against local Mandate forces.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Pan-national cursed fash shit where a strong man is needed to reform the Star League and purge the degenerates.
Desired Form of Government: Fascist, authoritarian state led by one man and controlling the Inner Sphere
Notable Systems: [Varied]
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [cucks], Aurigan Coalition [cucks], Taurian Concordat [cucks], Magistracy of Canopus [cucks], Capellan Confederation [cool trending to cucks]
Description:
Despite adopting the moniker of 'Dark Cameronists' and claiming to be a completely novel 31st-century movement, Dark Cameronism is little more than standard reactionary fascism given a coat of paint. Congealing among the middle and upper classes in response to the rapid rise of left-wing movements across the Rimward Periphery, socialist and otherwise, Dark Cameronism is a reactionary movement built around the idea that the only mistake the Camerons made was failing to kill enough people. Reactionary in the extreme, Dark Cameronists are typically extremely nationalistic, enthusiastic for authoritarianism and violence, and view the Inner Sphere as corrupted by some nebulous other. Both pan-national in nature and extremely nationalist, followers of Dark Cameronism typically square the circle of these mutually contradictory beliefs by either claiming that the struggle against progressive "subversion" crosses all borders or by simply not thinking about it that much.
Scattered throughout the Federated Suns and Celestial Mandate, Dark Cameronists, also known as 'Forloughists' in regions bordering the Concordat, exist in an uneasy state of tension with many planetary governments. While less savoury governments will often support Dark Cameronist groups, tacitly or otherwise, other governments view them as a threat to their own stability and power due to their tendency towards strongman-ism and open violence. With that said, however, Dark Cameronists in the Federated Suns have recently come to support Duke Michael Hasek-Davion in a major way as a result of his crackdowns on rebel groups in the Outback, and similar groups in the Mandate have become some of the Celestial government's strongest supporters and most eager footsoldiers.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Socialism(?) with a constitutional Monarchy
Desired Form of Government: Soldier and Workers' Councils which send delegates to a Congress of Councils under the monarch.
Notable Systems: Mechdur, Taygeta, Mandaree, Hobson, Cumberland
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [Warm], Aurigan Coalition [😍], Taurian Concordat [ambivalent], Magistracy of Canopus [warm], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
An unusual ideology typically described as leftwing despite its paradoxical nature, Aurigan-style Monarcho-Socialism has spread from the Aurigan Reach to the wider galaxy thanks to increased trade brought about by the Reach's growing wealth.
Conceived by a fringe group of pro-monarchy and anti-dictatorship philosophers in the wake of the Aurigan Civil War, Aurigan-style Monarcho-Socialists desire a classless workers' state with a monarch at its head. As theorised by its proponents, a Monarcho-Socialist state would feature soldier and worker councils that elect delegates to a national Congress of Councils that forms the supreme legislative body of the state. Though this body would technically exist beneath the monarch, the monarch's primary purpose (and sole power) is to dissolve the congress should it be found to be counter-revolutionary.
An unpopular ideology due to being too rightwing for many leftists and too leftwing for many rightists, Monarcho-Socialism has nonetheless found some success in the Federated Suns' Outback. Brought to the region by independent traders, Aurigan-Style Monarcho-Socialism has found fertile soil in the minds of FedSun patriots due to the high regard in which they hold their First Prince and the low regard their nobility claim. Unsurprisingly, adherence to Monarcho-Socialism typically slews towards the most nationalist of the region's peasants, though several prominent members of the upper class have begun engaging with the philosophy in recent years.
One of the least revolutionary ideologies in the FedSuns outback, recent actions by security forces and staunch supporters of Duke Michael Hasek-Davion have sharpened the contradictions inherent in the ideology, and observations points to fracture occurring among its believers shortly.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Marxism-Leninism but the army has a permanent seat in the praesidium to defend the revolution a la Aleksander Kerensky
Desired Form of Government: Elected bicameral legislature which, in turn, elects a praesidium from among its members with only the military having a permanent seat.
Notable Systems: Pleiades Cluster, Brusett, Ridgebrook
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [lukewarm], Aurigan Coalition [cool], Taurian Concordat [lukewarm], Magistracy of Canopus [lukewarm], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
A more conventional ideology than it would first appear, Marxism-Leninism-Kerenskyism is a syncretic ideology derived from Marx, Lenin, and Aleksandr Kerensky as viewed by the people of the Outback. Initially entering the region as pure Marxism-Leninism, the philosophy swiftly took on a life of its own and adapted to suit the conditions of the Inner Sphere within a matter of months; its Helghan originators soon surpassed in influence by local philosophers. Opposed almost immediately by the region's nobility, MLK found succour with the students, proletariat, and peasants that made up the bulk of the Outback's population and has since spread like wildfire across dozens of systems.
Much like the Marxist-Leninist philosophies of the past, Marxism-Leninism-Kerenskyism holds that a multi-stage communist revolution is necessary to replace the neo-feudalism that dominates the known galaxy. While the exact number of stages varies from group to group, all believe that a period of capitalism is needed to produce a superabundance of resources and set the stage for an eventual communist state. To achieve this, a vanguard party organised through democratic centralism would seize power on behalf of the proletariat and establish a one-party socialist state. This state would, in turn, control the means of production, suppress opposition, counter-revolution and the bourgeoisie to pave the way for an eventual communist society that would be classless and stateless. However, unlike traditional Marxism-Leninism, adherents to MLK also hold that the military should maintain a permanent seat on the highest elected committee to guard against despotism and better defend the revolution. Keenly aware of the risk of an autocratic stratocracy forming, the proposed military would be a confederal force featuring elected officers and other, less orthodox measures.
One of the most widespread ideologies in the Outback, Marxism-Leninism-Kerenskyism maintains bastions of support in Brusett, Ridgebrook, and the Pleiades Cluster. Consistently targeted by security forces, MLK groups are some of the most well-organised and militant of those operating in the Outback and have a highly developed AgitProp wing. In addition, MLK groups have recently joined forces with Taurian enclaves and Maoist-Gaullists against Ducal mercenaries, numerous actions attributed to the united front.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Space-Trots
Desired Form of Government: Elected bicameral legislature which, in turn, elects a praesidium from among its members with only the military having a permanent seat.
Notable Systems: Pleiades Cluster, Lothair, Ridgebrook
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [lukewarm], Aurigan Coalition [cool], Taurian Concordat [lukewarm], Magistracy of Canopus [lukewarm], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
A strain of leftism born from a split within Marxist-Leninist-Kerenskyist parties shortly after the ideology arrived in the Outback, Trotskyist-Kerenskyites hold a far more aggressive and revolutionary worldview. Popular with the same groups and suppressed just as hard, Trotskyist-Kerenskyism diverges from its forebear on several crucial points, the least of which is its wariness of counterrevolutionary bureaucracies.
As with Marxism-Leninism-Kerenskyism, Trotskyist-Kerenskyism holds that only a multi-stage communist revolution can replace the neo-feudalism that dominates the known galaxy. However, unlike MLK, Trotskyist-Kerenskyism holds that a revolution limited to a single country will inevitably be overwhelmed and destroyed by reactionary forces as capital rushes to protect itself. As a result, adherents of the ideology argue that the revolution must spread across the galaxy with the military's help, and that peaceful coexistence with neo-feudal and capitalist states is impossible. A significant divergence from the mainline MLK view, this belief has spawned arguments that have already become legendary throughout the Outback.
Furthermore, while agreeing with Marxist-Leninist-Kerenskyists that the military should maintain a permanent seat on the highest elected committee, Trotskyist-Kerenskyists differ significantly on the why. Believing that the military can and must assist the international proletariat in overthrowing their governments, Trotskyist-Kerenskyists believe that only a seat on the highest committee can prevent the revolution from being beset by passivity. Interestingly, though maintaining the confederal form, the ideal Trotskyist-Kerenskyist military is organised along trade union lines as opposed to the broader people's militia favoured by Marxist-Leninist-Kerenskyists.
Roughly as popular as Marxism-Leninism-Kerenskyism and sharing many of the same systems, Trotskyist-Kerenskyism has caused no end of trouble for the nobility and their hatchet men. Though not officially a part of the united front formed by MLK, Maoist-Gaullist, and Taurian enclave groups, Trotskyist-Kerenskyists have cooperated with all three on several occasions. In addition, Trotskyist-Kerenskyite groups are among the most organised in the region due to their early presence and descent from similarly well-organised Marxist-Leninist-Kerenskyist groups.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Militant anti-imperialists with a dream of uniting the Outback and maintaining autonomy from the Inner Sphere.
Desired Form of Government: Single-party, unicameral democratic state
Notable Systems: Tentativa, Cohagen Songgang, and Naka Pabni
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [ambivalent], Aurigan Coalition [cool], Taurian Concordat [ambivalent], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
Also known as Marxism with Periphery characteristics, Maoism-Gaullism is an unusual blending of two very distinct (and vaguely understood) ideologies into a single whole. First appearing on Naka Pabni before spreading to several nearby systems, the populist ideology emerged in response to the failure of other left-wing ideologies to appeal to the needs of the peasantry. Initially one of many competing ideologies, Maoist-Gaullist cadres swiftly took charge of resistance efforts when the planetary government attempted to crush strikes and protests, and more than a few officials have since found themselves on the wrong end of a rifle.
Distinguished in holding the peasantry and not the proletariat as the revolutionary vanguard needed to overthrow the existing order, Maoism-Gaullism has proven extremely popular among that class. Aggressively anti-imperialist, Maoist-Gaullist fighters routinely attack extractive FedSun enterprises before melting away into the countryside with the aid of peasants and other military groups. Somewhat less democratic than its related ideologies, a central pillar of Maoist-Gaullist thought is the idea that only a single-party communist state can open the door to socialism, inter-party democracy serving to safeguard against authoritarianism.
In addition to being anti-imperialist and democratic, for a given value of the word, Maoist-Gaullists also seek to unite the Outback into a single unified state capable of resisting Inner Sphere aggression. While not necessarily wishing to join the Taurian Concordat and uninterested in bringing revolution to the entire galaxy, Maoist-Gaullists have thus far maintained positive relations with both Taurian enclaves and various left-wing groups throughout the Outback. Typically referred to as the United Front, the alliance between these disparate groups has caused substantial trouble for regional governments and Michael Hasek-Davion's mercenaries.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Blanquists with Marik characteristics
Desired Form of Government: Presidential Socialist Republic
Notable Systems: Courcelette
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [ambivalent], Aurigan Coalition [ambivalent], Taurian Concordat [ambivalent], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
Less a distinct ideology and more a means of achieving a goal, Blanquist-Marikists hold that a relatively small group of highly organised and secretive conspirators is all that's needed to set a nation on the path to socialism. Disregarding the proletariat, peasantry, and all other mass movements, Blanquist-Marikists would see a small group of professional, dedicated revolutionaries coup the government before returning power to the people in a manner akin to the Free Worlds League. Rather interestingly, despite the lack of an ideological underpinning and the suspect means, Blanquist-Marikists in the system of Courcelette have succeeded despite the odds.
Taking the planet in a bloodless coup with the aid of the planetary militia, local Blanquist-Marikists have already disassembled the old neo-feudal structures and started superseding them with an ostensibly-socialist presidential republic. Modelled after the Free Worlds League, the new order is a federal republic split into provinces that are further divided into electorates based on population. Headed up by a president who will be voted upon by the entire population every 5 years, Courcelette has seemingly lept from feudalism to modern democracy in a single rather risky bound.
Broad Strokes Ideology: State-atheist republicanism that seeks to destroy the nobility as a class
Desired Form of Government: Unitary semi-presidential republic
Notable Systems: Keuterville, Drienfontein, Kiserian, Weippe, Die Moot
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [lukewarm to warm], Aurigan Coalition [cold], Taurian Concordat [ambivalent to lukewarm], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent to lukewarm], Capellan Confederation [cool to ambivalent]
Description:
A distant descendant of Jacobinism kept alive against all odds, Neo-Jacobinism is a revolutionary political movement that desires nothing less than the destruction of the Federated Suns' nobility as a class and the establishment of a highly-centralised republican state. Aggressively secular thanks to the reach of religious organisations on its home worlds and equally patriotic, Neo-Jacobinism seeks to transform the Federated Suns into an atheist state that has destroyed its nobility. Unlike other ideologies in the Outback, the establishment of a socialist state is not a goal of Neo-Jacobins; the primarily middle-class movement merely seeks heavy intervention in an otherwise free market and dramatic wealth redistribution from the nobility to everyone else.
Desiring a heavily centralised state to call their own, Neo-Jacobins have broadly aligned themselves with the idea of replacing the Federated Suns' extant neo-feudal system with a Unitary Semi-Presidential republic featuring both a President and a Prime Minister. A force to be reckoned with on several worlds, numerous nobles have chosen to flee in the face of the growing Neo-Jacobinist movement; the wealth they left behind rapidly expropriated before police could arrive to defend it. Organising primarily through middle-class haunts, Neo-Jacobins have responded to violent repression with greater and greater strength, numerous police stations burned down, and their ruins tagged with Neo-Jacobin graffiti.
Given the group's middle-class origins, pro-FedSun patriotism, and retention of a free market (however constrained it may be), Neo-Jacobins have an understandably rocky relationship with socialists, communists, and Taurian enclaves of all stripes. While elements of the first two can and have worked with Neo-Jacobinists and respect many of their goals, conflict is common, and most prefer to limit engagement as much as possible. Meanwhile, Taurian enclaves maintain a bitter relationship with Neo-Jacobins due to their immensely pro-Federated Suns stance, the desires of the two groups diverging widely.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Direct Democracy with French Revolutionary characteristics (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sans-culottes)
Desired Form of Government: Anarchism
Notable Systems: Ashley, Wrentham, Mendham, Robsart
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [lukewarm], Aurigan Coalition [ambivalent], Taurian Concordat [ambivalent], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent to lukewarm], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
An amalgamation of many different preexisting political movements crystalized by the Outback's current political crises, the Sin Seda (lit. without silk) are a loose but widespread collection of anarchists opposed to the monarchy, nobility, capitalism, and state wherever they lie. Initially starting as a grassroots movement among the lower classes of Ashley, the Sin Seda were so named due to the vast gulf in clothing materials available to nobility and commoners; the sole source of substances such as silk being trading cartels that rendered them prohibitively expensive. Forming in response to the power of these cartels, the Sin Seda fought for many years for a better world before recent events bolstered their support and exposed the wider Outback to their arguments.
Unlike those movements inspired by the Helghan Republic, the Sin Seda practise a two-stage form of democracy typically free of elected proxies to ensure as broad a range of views are presented and debated. In small votes, I.E those with only a few hundred or thousand stakeholders, consensus-based direct democracy in which the viewpoint of every member is heard and voted on directly is used. Meanwhile, for votes involving tens of thousands, a statistically random sample of the general population present their views for the electorate to debate and vote.
Already forming armed militias when Ducal mercenaries arrived in the Outback, the Sin Seda have since redoubled their resistance efforts; factories and mines across the region shut down by strikes that have cost the nobility greatly. Closely aligned with ethnic Taurian communities where they aren't already one in the same, Sin Seda militias have been responsible for several prison breaks and rescued numerous disappeared activists. While not officially part of the United Front, Sin Seda groups nonetheless maintain ties with the alliance and reportedly feed vital intelligence to them.
Broad Strokes Ideology: They want to rejoin the Taurian Concordat. That's the goal.
Notable Systems: Bromhead, Midale, Brockway, Hyalite
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [ambivalent], Aurigan Coalition [ambivalent], Taurian Concordat [😍], Magistracy of Canopus [ambivalent], Capellan Confederation [cool]
Description:
Surprising no one given their name, Taurian Federalists are defined almost entirely by their overarching goal to exit the Federated Suns and join the Taurian Concordat. Relatively popular throughout the Outback, Taurian Federalists enjoy the most support on worlds that border the Concordat; sheer proximity to the Midas-touched state driving great unrest in the traditionally overlooked and exploited region. Supported by members of all classes, Taurian Federalists nonetheless enjoy a solid core of support from those Taurian populations that survived the post-Reunification displacements imposed by the Federated Suns.
Seeking everything from a return to a mythologized promised land to improved education, healthcare, security, and all-around wealth, Taurian Federalists are desirous of the economic miracle that the Taurian Concordat has enjoyed, and have not been afraid to make it known. Though the Federalists initially attempted to use peaceful means to achieve their aim, they quickly found themselves opposed by both planetary governments and Federated Suns' nationalists. Radicalised by the subsequent violence, Taurian Federalists have resorted to strike actions, slowdowns, and other activities to hurt the state and pitched street fights to fend off nationalists.
Closely aligned with Taurian communities due to their makeup and the Taurian Concordat due to their goal, Taurian Federalists have maintained lukewarm relations with members of the United Front since its formation. Though opposed by Federated Sun authorities in much the same way as the Sin Seda and Maoist-Gaullists, the lack of a Federalist ideology has left them very much on the outside of the alliance; the occaisional bit of information shared, but outright cooperation off the table.
Broad Strokes Ideology: Reactionary, monarchist ultra-nationalists
Desired Form of Government: Absolute monarchy
Notable Systems: [Varied]
Diplomatic Views: Helghan Republic [😡], Aurigan Coalition [😡], Taurian Concordat [😡], Magistracy of Canopus [😡], Capellan Confederation [😡]
Description:
Similar in many ways to the Dark Cameronists that exist across the Rimward Periphery, New Avalonists are nonetheless more reactionary, more nationalist, and more inclined towards autocracy. As suggested by the name, the New Avalonists are a movement founded by FedSun ultranationalist supporters of House Davion; the entire movement exists within the Federated Suns and is funded by FedSun nobility. A deeply strange political movement, New Avalonists are strong supporters of First Prince Morgan Davion despite his lack of acknowledgement, and believe he should rule with absolute authority over the nation even though it has been a constitutional monarchy for centuries.
Ultra-nationalists even by the standards of reactionaries, New Avalonists view the cultures of other nations as infections to be fought off, and many of the movement's noble backers have funded efforts to promote 'Federated Culture' among the FedSuns' many systems. Particularly opposed to Combine and Capellan Culture, numerous incidents of arson, robbery, and even murder have been carried out by followers of New Avalonism; the stochastic terrorism raising tensions and disrupting daily life in the state's usually equanimous core. Though small in number, the New Avalonists wield outsized influence due to their backing by members of the FedSun nobility, and many New Avalonist attacks on Taurian enclaves in the Outback have gone unpunished as a result.
