Mmm... i do wonder if it's possible to temporarily divert logistics to a heavier naval presence for the offensive while we rely on our allies for groundside forces. And if it wouldn't be better to do so.

1. Fix the damaged warships.
2. Bring up fresh troops from anywhere, hire any/all available mercs nearby(That can make it to battle before the big batchall battle) shuffle the MWLR's to the front line.
3. Full court press with everything available to reclaim as much FRR clay as possible, use undamaged warships as troop transports along with jumpships. MWLR's to the Clan strongpoints.

edit: added to point 2.

It's between attacking and not I guess. Everyone should be on the same page so Consolidation and attacking on a narrow front. We need to take out troops either on the ground or in space.

Issue a Challenge on the opposite side of space make it BIG then then hit them somewhere else.

Any other ideas?

How many wrecked or damaged Mechs just lounge about in the Inner Sphere? I say We buy up every one we can get our hands one with money not already spent hiring more mercs to fix and refit everything we can and finding any dispossessed and going 'Hey, if you survive this battle you get to keep your mech!'

If Smoke Jaguar folds like cheap cardboard within a week, perhaps we'll just Operation Bulldog them a decade early.

-[X] Diplomatic Efforts
–[X] Via the usual diplomatic channels, attempt to coordinate a full-on offensive to retake as much territory from the Clans as possible, or failing that to press the proverbial thumb on the scales for Comstar's Lyndon Gamble. As an example, seconding the naval assets already deployed to the Combine for the effort or encouraging the Lyrans to make full use of the MAWLR-IIs, their escorting screening force, and the multiple Divisions previously spread across their frontline. Feed whatever data we obtain from observation assets to the involved Great Houses. Yes, even the Suns.
-[X] Open the Checkbook
–[X] Purchase any gun sitting on a rack going cold, any mercenary unit frittering away their time in a bar nearby not already hired, every spare part keeping a unit from being maximally mobile. Spare no expense, it's all going down the Clans' throats. We'll need it if it's within the frontline range and not already part of someone's logistical chain. Right now.
-[X] Rally the Partisans
–[X] Any stay-behind units on Clan worlds not already coordinating directly with ORDI invasion efforts will direct their efforts to be the guiding hand of a local partisan effort. Exhort them to cause as much short-term chaos and damage to Clanner organization as possible within the timeframe allotted. This may be the last chance any of them will have to make a real difference.
-[X] Operation Santiago Phase 10
--[X] The Republic asks its ORDI allies for the following:
-[X] Pledging reinforcing vessels for those they lost at Skandia, further reinforcements using capacity now spared by the Republic's losses, and finally, pledging one ship each to the Lyran front, due to the total losses of those deployed there last quarter.
--[X] Plan CRUSADER - Maneuver to wrest eight Rasalhague worlds from the hands of Clan Smoke Jaguar, being Weingarten, Thannhausen, Kandis, Memmingen, Stanzach, Vorarlberg, Kempten, and Radstadt. The plan's ultimate goal is the recapture of Radstadt to restore the Free Republic's fighting spirit and secure the life and liberty of all its citizens therein. During the push, Cybernetic SOF will be pressed to execute whatever operations against local Jaguar forces that they have actionable intelligence to pull off; Within reason, everything is on the table, and priority is given to things that will help minimize collateral damage to civilians.

It took me a few days to just read this. And I can say that it was worth it.

Now I can take part in the real action and seeing all that has happened so far my question to all those who have come up with plans and proposals is this:

Why the hell hasn't enough been invested in the navy?
It's the only advantage we have and in several turns it hasn't been expanded further nor have there been any proposals for a large navy or something like that.

I'd argue that the past several main turn plans actually have invested significantly into the navy. Basically every winning plan has a shipyard construction option being taken, often two, and multiple new naval options have been procured (namely, the conversion of the Charon-class freighters to yardships, the Handyman construction, the procurement of dropship modular yardship options, all of which can also be sold on to our allies as well), and the provision of energy shields to our allies has significantly increased collective ORDI naval power, particularly in light of their own naval construction programs, each of which, it should be pointed out, individually dwarfs the various non-ORDI great house naval programs, even the Federated Suns's shipbuilding program. The pace of naval construction slowed down post-Outback War because the Republic Navy hit the fleet size cap, but that just meant most of the "naval" AP budget went to construction that increased fleet size cap, namely planetary and orbital yards.

Really do hope that the clans take the DC main world during this
I highly doubt that. With the clans elite troops being deployed to the Lyndon Gamble the troops that remain likely don't have the capability to take the Combines most defended world. In fact it's far more likely that the counter attack will result in large swaths of Combine territory to be retaken.

That is really a shame, want more problems for the DC, so lets hope that after the war with the clans is over, that the fedsuns will attack a weaken DC

Well really, the Combine's continual existence as a viable nation-state benefits us tangentially insofar as it presents a border that the Federated Suns have to continue committing forces toward defending, at a minimum, which keeps them from giving us both of 'these hands' since one of them is occupied with keeping a snake from biting them in the ass.

Though to be honest, I don't like Theo's odds of not catching a case of the 'violently coup'd' by the Black Dragon Society. Or Word of Blake. Or Word of Blake working with or manipulating the Black Dragon Society. Or just one of the district Warlords being like 'fuck this' and multiple others following.

Anyway, what the Combine does or doesn't do is barely our concern. I say barely because it's just concerning enough to keep the Clans from grabbing all that extra infrastructure and aggregate GDP to slightly help them out, but it's not worthwhile or practical to do more than that. Like for all that we would ordinarily 'wish the Combine a happy death', Luthien is a heavily industrialized world with a sufficiently educated and skilled workforce to make use of all that industry. Wishing the Clans to capture it is probably shooting yourself in the foot. No one wins there. Some lose harder than others, but that doesn't even tangentially benefit us whatsoever.

As repugnant as the DC's government is, even by IS standards, it is not and will likely never be our problem considering it doesn't border us. The FS, meanwhile, does and is said to have issues with the far-right elements in the nation and even without them has revanchist feelings against us anyway.

I'm shrugging my shoulders at the DC's losses as a whole but I don't actually want them to be weakened to the point the FS never has to station a significant part of its forces on those borders. The DC has its own uses for now and in the near future. If you have the time and energy to actively hate them, you have the time and energy to actively hate the FS.

So I brought this up on the discord but what do you guys here on the thread think about using omni tech salvage to redevelop modular design in the vain of the Dragoon (the mech that eventually led to omni tech)? Like modular design while not as versatile as Omni tech does have many of it's upsides like being able to switch out weapons far faster then what would be possible on a standard mech (though with the limitation only a weapon of the same type as the original weapon can be placed in the same location so only a energy weapon can replace another energy weapon) along with making these mechs far easier to repair and maintain. Another benefit over omni tech is that we don't have to completely retool our military industrial complex to produce podded equipment as modular mechs and vehicles can use standard equipment and it doesn't increase the cost of the mech or vehicle at all unlike Omni tech based machines who are more expensive to produce and maintain. We do have to update our current designs with the modularity but I belief that would be possible trough upgrade kits instead of having to fully make new machines like what would be necessary with omni tech.

And the modular design research shouldn't be long at all as the Innersphere developed full on omni tech in 3 to 5 months after the invasion which modular design is a less complex version of. Heck it might be possible one of our allies is working on the research right now as the research choices our allies are doing haven't been updated in a while. So trading for it to get it soon wouldn't be difficult.

Edit: And I know this is more focused on things for the potential sequel but I think it would still be interesting to talk about now before the sequel.

Chris, I think it's an excellent suggestion.
So, I would support it as the last major upgrade program for our military. Even if we can´t make use of it and it's just "flavor text" at the end of this quest.
