The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

We lucked out and got the perfect assault marine weapon spec trait so I feel little need to diversify further when there's specialist help we would benefit from.

There were some good emblems earlier in the thread that would work

For Color, Silver primary with red shoulder guard and gold trim?

Wait, Do we need Assault packs if we have sanguinous's wings? Don't the wings kinda, Yah know, already let them fly? Since these are a legendary trait and sanguineous never had a problem, the marines should be fine to just... use the wings?

I am unsure how wearing an assault pack with wings would work... Or if it would be helpful for either, If the assault pack insterferes with the wings, we should save the equipment and use it on something else. idk it seems weird

Not all marines have the wings so extra assault packs means more people to fight with the winged boys.

I'm just sad Dark angels claimed winged sword.
I mean...I really don't think there's any copyright law in the Imperium and even then it wouldn't be marketable symbol. I get people want the Chapter to have unique symbol because ultimately it is fiction and we want the Chapters to be differenciated from each other, but if sword with wings works then let us use the sword with wings. The symbol should be cool first and foremost, just because the same or similar symbol is used by others really shouldn't matter, beside, Dark Angels is pointing downwards, we can make it at least a little different by simply having it pointing up instead.

Only some of them get wings. Assault packs let us fully build around being air mobile.

Ah! Got it, Makes sense then.

Hmm, I think I like Thunderhawks more then extra dreads, The Increased air pressure and the ability for our extra Assault marines to Jump straight out of transport thunderhawks directly unto the enemy sounds good. Combined with the fact that Dreadnoughts tend towards a slower pace, I think that thunderhawks would let the chapter keep the operational tempo better.
With that execption, my favourite planis the ancients right now, I like Chaps+Apoth+Libarians. If we are dealing with Rage and Thirst, Chaplains are a must.

Maybe and upward facing sword with big upward swept wings as the cross guard? Would kinda look like the Spade symbol from Cards.

All of this screams bait for corn flakes, or obsessing over blood. I'd rather we focus on the wings. Angels of Vengeance, Wings of Damnation, Angels/sons/Wings/Murder of Sanguinius.

Other then that I could take or leave the Bolts, I just wish we'd gotten a power weapons option before this, as Melee seems to hurt Daemons more.

They are obsessing over blood about as much as the Blood Angels. If having blood in their name and having their creed / battle cry include blood baited Khorne as much as you think then every Blood Angles successor Chapter would have already fallen.
Khorne cares not where the blood and skulls flow from. He honestly doesn't need to corrupt the Sons Of Sanguinius because they are already perfectly inclined to spilling blood.

What about 6 wings coming off a Blood chalice? Call to our stronger then average thirst, The fact we have wings and our linage to sanguineous with the imagery of something holy to the Blood angels chapter.

Add unto that, The chalices tend towards gold, so White wings would be striking. If you want to get REAL fancy, you can add the blood drop that Blood angel succors chapters have on their symbol, either Hanging off some of the wing tips, done in gold or red.

Uh I don't think dread naughts and apocathery would actually do h much or anything for this chapter due to the red thirst. Since iirc it causes any who have it to inevitably go crazy from it to the point that chapters that have their members get too deep in it sent into a suicide mission once they become too uncontrollable.

If anything the longer life span is wasted on any chapter that has any of the Big 3 flaws of the Angel boys chapters. As in they seem like they would all go crazy befor the long life span thing even became relevant. Them being crazy also seems like it would negate the issues of the Dreadnaughts.

Unless undead frog says something, extra apothecaries aren't gonna do shit for helping the blood thirst one way or the other. I was hoping he was around to reply back when I sent him this very question, but it looks like we're not going to hear anything till tomorrow. If tomorrow he says otherwise, I will be more than happy to change my vote and I'm sure others will too.

-[ ] Extra Dreadnaughts: The Chapter has more Dreadnought hulls than normal, letting it field more of the venerable ancients… if it has enough wounded veterans to pilot them, of course.

The Red Thrist and Black Rage doesn't really play well with Dreadnoughts, can I suggest changing that with sword master, and if Apothecaries don't help with the thirst then add Marksmen as well?

Seeing as how they seem perfectly specialized for Anti-Chaos operations combined with their flaws and talents, Librarians and Chaplains seem like a no-brainer option. Everything else is up for debate.

[] Plan Sasageyo!
-[] Wings of Victory
-[] Red Chest Plate & Tabbard with the rest of the Armor White, Red Trim, Black detailing on White, White detailing on Chest Piece
-[] Black Background - The Wings of Freedom - Top wing White covered being Red
-[] Battle Cry "On His Wings we Soar!"
--[] Battle Cry vs. Chaos "His Vengence Descends!"
-[ ] Chaplains: The Chapter is blessed with more Chaplains than average among its numbers, and higher quality as well. Treachery and corruption will find it far harder to grow within their ranks.
-[ ] Apothecaries: This chapter has extra Apothecaries among its ranks.
-[ ] Extra Assault Packs: The Chapter has a great number of Assault Packs, letting them retain a greater number of Assault Marines in each Company.
-[] Extra Thunderhawks: The Chapter has access to additional Thunderhawks, of both Gunship, Transporter and Annihilator models, giving them superior heavy air power.

I agree. What is the point of Terminators of extra Dreadnaughts if the thing that makes them a unique fighting force is their ability to fly? Treat them like Paratroopers.
