Emperor love melee. So if you want to keep favor of ??? , we better got Blademaster feature. Also, I think Zeal is enough and extra chaplains will be too mach

I wonder if ??? Is Malice, the whole "tamed ball of limbs and jaws" thing does point to geetting favour from the god that hates everything.

Then again I don't know if he is even cannon in this quest

Entrenchment doesn't work when the other side is willing to use and able to deploy extermantus which is what they will be up against during the age of apostasy

If the enemy deploys Exterminatus Grade weaponry then nothing really matters anymore. We cannot plan around hypotheticals where we have already lost by definition. Notably though we do have many records of attempted bombardment being much less then fully successful and survivors forcing the enemy to the field after the fact. The battles of both Istvans during the Heresy are a premier example of that. The failure to quickly eliminate loyalists was a major reason for the eventual Imperial victory.

Though if you are worried about our capacity to help on the ground I did put up a plan aiming to make them ideal seconds for the Imperial Navy. Not their most obvious use, but one where they can be widespread and effective nonetheless.

Traits
Favor of ???: This chapter is favored by ??? - the powers of the divine, both Chaotic and otherwise, are weakened in their presence.
The Pallan Warp Eater: The Chapter has tamed the dread Pallan Warp Eater, a large predator resembling a mass of human limbs surrounding a singular large maw. It is attracted to, and actively prefers to devour, individuals with the blessings of certain Warp Entities.
Poison Resistance: This chapter is especially resistant to toxins, even by Space Marine standards.
Zeal: This chapter is fanatical and driven in its tasks. They will not be made to rest easily.
Stubbornness: This chapter can be exceptionally stubborn when it comes to holding a position. Naturally, this can have both positive and negative impacts.
Imperial Truth (Ideology Spread): The Marines of this chapter are firm believers in the Imperial Truth, and will spread its beliefs as far and wide as they can manage.
... Huh.

Our Chapter Traits basically mean that you are going to have to kill the Astartes with normal weapons if you want to succeed, and be very certain you did in fact kill them. Aren't they?

My guy, exterminatus weaponry requires you to be in position to freely bombard the planet, a series of fortifications beyond that range would make a fighting chance to beat of the exterminatus (which probably would require a roll lower than 10)

Question, is ???, Necoho the Doubter AKA the Chaos God of the opposition to religion itself?
Actually might be. The Imperial Truth seems right up his alley, and the effect of weakening all divine magic no matter the source, fits him like a glove.

Honestly getting the favour of Necoho isn't even a bad thing in 40K. The Emperor is powerful on his own, even without worship, and the only other relevant Gods mankind can pray to are the Chaos Gods.

Although, I suppose there is that one planet on the list with a very big chance of worshipping a minor Goddess. If she's trustworthy, that could be worth investing in.

Chapter finding out a chaos being favors them

Astartes: Why do you try and help us foul demon.
Necoho: Becuase the ones most likely to get rid of me is you.
Astartes: Wait What.
Necoho: Yes please help me stop existing!
Astartes: Do… Do I need to call someone?

[] Plan: Warp Riders
-[] Name: The Riders of Truth
-[] Symbol: A horse bearing a warrior with a torch
-[] Creed: "We ride for Truth!"
-[] Spear Mastery
-[] Chaplains
-[] Heavy Weaponry
-[] Specialist ammo

I think it would be cool for them to ride these creatures as they fight like how the space wolves ride thunderwolves. Failing that put a howdah on them and mount heavy bolters. I also don't want to do another defensive chapter
