[X] Plan Doctor Visit and Girl Talks

Yeah, from the blurb, it very much seems like discussing Alicent's feelings is in the option to talk to her alone. Sadge about no trip to Dragonstone, but Mellos has done it. (And besides, the deadline for both Harp and Law is on T17, so we still can prepare on T16 and...)

Very technically speaking Mellos is elected by the Citadel rather than being appointed by the Iron Throne like the rest of the Small Council, and is stated to only be able to be unmade by the Citadel. And given that Viserys is very concerned with the idea of peaceful rule, he is unlikely to really raise of fuss with a semi-independent body that is needed for the Kingdoms to function without a very good reason.

Of course, the Small Council is part of the royal court, hence of the household of the king. The King can remove from his court whom he likes. Of course, the Citadel can then simply not send a replacement, but that is a power struggle they would lose and they know it. This whole "The Citadel appoints the Grand Maester" is very, very technical. Hell, Maegor solved the issue by simply killing every Grand Maester the Citadel sent to him, thus necessitating replacements.

Ok since there is quite a few people who want to talk with Alicent alone I present my plan...

The idea is to talk both with Alicent and Gwayne , that way we can present a unified front when we talk with Otto...

[X] Plan: Important Talks (Doubling Down on the High Siblings Version)
-[X] [Conversation] Speak with Alicent Hightower
-[X] [Conversation] Speak with Gwayne And Alicent
-[X] [Conversation] Speak with Ser Raylon Tarly
-[X] [Conversation] Speak with Laena Velaryon
-[X] [Action] Train

--[X] Challenge to a Duel: Raylon has suggested dueling others as a way of sharpening yourself against new blades. Have others find flaws in you that he has missed (Pick One)
---[X] [Duel] One of the Dornish Nobles
-[X] [Action] Train with Syrax

[X] Plan: Important Talks

...that takes a second most popular plan and swaps talking with Alicent to talking with Alicent and Gwayne? I don't think any plan that doesn't have us talk to Alicent alone is going to be popular ngl, she's had a lot of Feels in the Qoren conversation and it would be good to check in with her as soon as possible

I posted the old unfinished version of the plan, the idea behind my plan is to talk to Alicent first and then to Alicent and Gwayne together, so that we can figure out a plan and then go after Otto ASAP...

We talked to her the turn before last, and incorporated her into a conversation with Qoren and our music study. Frankly it feels like we're entering the realm of unhealthy codependence level of romantic obsession.

We just threw a life-changing bombshell (marriage), immediately followed by Qoren deploying armor-piercing levels of insight and acceptance. Checking in with her after something like that isn't unhealthy codependence, it feels more like basic decency for our committed romantic partner lol

Yeah as I have specifically said, it's not like we have been neglecting her, but it is about the topic at hand, which touches upon our relationship.

I'm pretty certain Alicent saw the marriage coming. Tarly knows Rhaenyra needs to get married, and Alicent was raised to be much more politically savvy than tarly by a much more competent at politics father. She probably figured out she'd be dealing with this soon before Rhaenyra did.

Basic decency would be giving her time to make sense of her feelings on Qoren in particular as Rhaenyra's husband at her own pace instead of coming in as a concerned partner and nudging those feelings towards wants what's best for her considerate partner rather than focusing on what she feels.

One turn lasts three months.

It did not help that you had begun to outgrow some of your clothing again
wow. i hope she ends up so tall her descendents display her armor somewhere just to prove, no, we're not exagerating, she was this damn tall. fingers crossed for like, 6'10 or something.

[X] Plan Doctor Visit and Girl Talks

Queen Johanna was pregnant again.

Her twins were barely Seven months old
Viserys get off of her 🙄

Curiously, rumors abound that your uncle was beginning to sulk. He had not taken to field on Caraxes for weeks now and some whispered he had been spending most of his time in his tent, brooding. This had apparently been occurring ever since Qoren sailed for King's Landing.
i feel like we should be bracing for complications soon. i now, more than ever, really want a shadowy vizier on our side. no, not you, Larys.

[] [Action] Sneak out and Explore the City
When your father and uncle were your age, they regularly went out of the King's Landing at night for all kinds of things. Naturally such things were forbidden to you as they were "unbefitting a princess" but as heir to the throne, shouldn't you have a chance to let loose and explore the city you'll one day rule? The arrival of numerous Dornish visitors has the city as a whole in a rather festive mood.
i want to sneak out SO BAD. Rharnyra's been a very dutiful heir, but even the most boring humbug of a lordling wouldn't think too badly of a single night out on the town, right? maybe with the Lady 😏

maybe during the Dragonstone mini-cation?

No, like I said, Rhaenyra is gonna max out at like Brienne height so like 6'5. She's not there yet though. Got a few more years of growth.

Now Helaena, 6'10 is literally on the short end of where she'll end up.

Edit

I will say if you want stuff like that you guys really need to start doing the side quests.

I would rather not... Apparently Dragonstone has the castle, the port and a few fishing villages...

Don't get me wrong I want to sneak into the City, but when we are in King's Landing

I will say if you want stuff like that you guys really need to start doing the side quests.
I know, and honestly, the fact that we have seemingly found our husband early is great because it frees our schedule and we can do other things...

Or maybe not, there is still quite a few people in this thread who believe that actions like [] [Action] Fly to Harrenhal or [] [Action] Investigate the Death of King Aenys are a complete waste of time...

Wow I thought that Heleana would be around Nyra's Height, but dammit...

As I said before it would be SOOO funny if Heleana ended up being the girly one and Aelora the Tomboy...

There's been so much important main stuff lately, I can see why it's been hard to fit it in. Hopefully the winter will be calm enough to branch out a bit with stuff like finding a squire, sneaking off into town with Alicent, investigating Aenys' death, etc
[] [Action] Fly to Harrenhal
This one isn't something I think is a waste of time so much as actively counterproductive. Sword without a hilt and all that. Plus Viserys just warned us directly, so it's in character to want to move past it without poking too hard. Plenty of Targaryens before and since have delved into prophecy, and it's always ended badly for them.

Also, seriously, what is going on with Helaena? Is she going to turn into a dragon or something?

No action in the middle of a quest chain is a waste of time, so long as we're Diligent. At the very least, taking such actions forestalls Stress gain.
