Got it, thanks. As others have stated, Mellos has to go (and we know that Orwyle's medicine is better for Viserys too). Also including the obvious conversations and the Laena dragonflight.

I don't see how talking directly to Maester Orwyle helps in getting rid of him, if anything it gives him warning that we might be plotting against him. Far better to speak with either Otto or Viserys if we want to get rid of him. If you want someone fired or punished you go to their supervisor or boss with your concerns, only the Hand or the King can realistically relieve the Archmaester of his duties.

Orwyle is the younger Maester treating Viserys, Mellos is the Archmaester who is a dick.

Maester Mellos has been around a long time, it's gonna take some convincing to get Viserys to give him the boot. Having Orwyle there as a ready substitute, with his own diagnosis and treatment plan for Viserys (as opposed to the completely ineffective treatments from Mellos) will go a lot further than Rhaenyra just asking to fire Mellos over his disrespect.

We want to get rid of Mellos, he is the one plotting againist us.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up. The plan makes a lot more sense in that case. Still it's probably more efficient to just have Otto or Viserys fire him based on our reccomendation than it is to try and align maesters against Mellos. The action economy favours using those pre-established relationships over trying to build a whole relationship with various maesters just to fire one guy on the small council. Friendships, family, and favours dictate the court makeup far more than professional differences will.

Not trying to get a Maester uprising, just trying to help one Maester supplant the current Grand Maester. Getting in with Orwyle now, and earning his favor will let us to have some influence over another part of the Small Council.

We'll have solid relations with The Master of Laws, the Master of Coin, and the Grand Maester. Pretty worthwhile investment. Especially since he'll be in charge of Viserys' health.

We're talking to Orwyle as a two birds one stone kind of thing. We want more effective treatments for Viserys, which Orwyle can provide, and speaking to him gives us a possible justification for Mellos's replacement beyond "I'm the heir, and I want him gone."

Very technically speaking Mellos is elected by the Citadel rather than being appointed by the Iron Throne like the rest of the Small Council, and is stated to only be able to be unmade by the Citadel. And given that Viserys is very concerned with the idea of peaceful rule, he is unlikely to really raise of fuss with a semi-independent body that is needed for the Kingdoms to function without a very good reason.

Which would be an excellent reason to speak with Otto, since if any clan has influence in the Citadel, it's the Hightowers. But replacing Mellos is probably a multi-turn campaign, and opening it by speaking with Orwyle first isn't a bad move by any means.

[X] Plan Doctor Visit and Girl Talks

The right order here is to talk to Orwyle this turn to learn more about dad's illness and perhaps collect any useful tidbits to use against Mellos. Then on a later turn we talk to either Otto or the king to try to set things into motion based on that. Talking to Otto about Mellos before we actually have some sort of ammunition to use would be premature.
