Ok, I've written up some... you can think of them as mega-projects, but I see them more as groupings of projects that make sense to do all at once and simplify the amount of information that questers have to keep track of.

Do we know what the effects of taking Suspicious actions are? Is there some sort of bridging action we need first (maybe an electronics institute?)

Weren't we going to do the Generic Submarine idea rather than any specific design put forward so that we could combine all the submarine roll bonuses?

Yeah, sorry for the confusion - I was using it as a generic name for whatever diesel sub we end up building.
(All the names are up for change actually, I was just feeling inspired.)

It's fine, just wanted to clear it up since the Tigerfish is an actual option for a sub design alongside the other two and the write-in in the military action list.

Tigerfish by itself though is a good name and I've got no problems with it being the name of our first submarine class.

  • [X] Plan Cybernetic Communism Plus Education
[X] Plan the Computer tells us we need more food.
-[x] Agri-, And Aquaculture (+2 to Farming/Animal Husbandry (Chinese Experts), +2 to Farming/Fishing/Animal Husbandry (Technocrats))
--[x] Expand Kelp Harvesting Operations (Very Helpful) (-3 Reputation) (+1 People's Opinion): The harvesting process can be improved by allowing the kelp to grow on lines that float on the surface, such that they can be easily harvested by boat without the need for divers.
    -[x] Social
--[x] Find The Tapes (+2 to Counter-Intelligence/Propaganda Actions)
---[x] While we've already personally been "punished" for setting up the cameras, the missing tapes present what could become a serious issue. Best case scenario one of our bodyguards just took and destroyed them to try to protect our image. Worst case scenario video showing the layout the residential wing and our children's room have just ended up in the hands of foreign agents. Not to mention that the... contents... of the tapes might harm our ability to conduct international diplomacy.
    -[x] Secret Project
    --[x] Mingxiang CyberSyn System (Mega-Project - 8/8 Actions) (-15 Reputation)
    -[x] Wei Jungming - (RP)
--[x] Personal Action: Spend time going over reports on the Chinese situation. Try to keep up to date to avoid getting blindsided by whoever wins, maybe see if there is anywhere you might be able to put a finger on the scales to ensure a more favorable outcome for Guangchou, but you aren't planning on actually doing any operations for now, at least until you get a better picture.
-[x] Lover Action: Mai is heading into a very taxing time, so Jungmin is going to be there to make her take time off and relax with him. They could both really use it and Jungmin will hopefully be able to moderate Mai's desire to get back in shape after childbirth to something less taxing for her. Also, Jungmin is going to get a vasectomy. For everyone's sake.

Fortunately, your choice won!

Also, I rolled the CyberSyn actions dice and... well...12.625 Average.

I don't know about suspicious actions, but the electronics institute is Mingxiang.
Suspicious Actions are when you are doing something the nation and people of Guangchou shouldn't be able to do with the tools, equipment, and technical knowledge they posses, or which are using such a quantity of ressources that hiding those for secrecy becomes noticeable for those paying close attention to your nation.

As for what they do, well, they make people suspicious! :V

Wait, aren't you rolling a D12? We got an average higher than the crit threshold???
You rolled 8d12 (3, 11, 4, 8, 12, 3, 7, 5 = 53), with a +6 bonus per dice (48), coming out at a nice, crisp, 101 (out of a maximum of 144), averaging 12.625 per dice.

BTW, after you asked about why Guangchou could design so hecking fast, I decided to make actions that should take longer than 6 months to produce/construct/design, apply retroactively to your nation, meaning you just yanked Stafford Beer out of Chile before the coup and let him work on your CyberSyn for a few years, refining what he already did to a razors edge.

That makes sense! Another way to explain it in universe is that Guangchou - by a mix of necessity, luck, and an open minded work force - has been doing Concurrent Engineering and Concurrent Design and Manufacturing. It would also kind of fit with Guangchou's socially progressive stance and worker councils because you could see how a bunch of people in R&D might get to talking and figure out that there are parts of the process that are independent of one another, and the parts that aren't can be worked on synchronously if the teams are communicating well enough.

Shoving everyone into the IT facility probably just made it even easier to coordinate.

I, I'm sorry, but now I can't help but think about Jungmin just... shoving a bunch of engineers and scientists (which annoyed him) tasked with making a plane into a room, locking it, and saying: "They'll either make a jet out of cardboard, or they'll kill each other. Either way, I win."

My headcanon for our absurd submarine bonus is that the researchers got a case of collective hyperfixation and did that themselves, then threw rocks at anyone who tried to break up their continuous 72-hour-long-and-counting design meeting (they've been sleeping in shifts).

Commie Powers Hetalia Character Profile: Guangchou
Commie Powers Hetalia
Character Profile: Guangchou

Appearance
Guangchou is short and slim person of indeterminate and varying gender, often shown mixing parts of the men and women's uniform. They are often seen wearing a pair of tiger ear headphones.

Personality and Interests
  • Guangchou has a notoriously amorous disposition and tends to get along well with others - they will even flirt with their rivals in such a way as to make them uncomfortable until they go away.
  • They are very tech savvy and always bring the newest electronic gadgets to school, often causing others to express incredulity that they were able to acquire them far in advance of everyone else.
  • Guangchou has a drawer of Anarchist doujinshi that they hide from China and Russia because they'll make fun of them for it.
  • They have a tendency to obfuscate the truth from both their friends and allies, and nobody is ever quite sure of their intentions.
Relationships
  • Japan: Japan is Guangchou's rival, and the two are often at odds. Japan resents Guangchou for stealing their homework and passing if off as their own, but has never been able to prove it.
  • Germany: Guangchou has an unrequited crush on Germany, through later episodes imply that Germany may return the feeling but is tsundere about it (get it, tsundere because of the East/West split :V ).
  • Russia: Russia tutors Guangchou privately in math and science, but maintain an aloof attitude in public because they don't want to be associated with Guangchou's freewheeling reputation.
  • China: China often acts as an overbearing older sibling, and Guangchou is constantly looking for ways to get out from under their supervision.
  • America: Guangchou will often blackmail America into buying them lunch by alluding to an embarrassing past incident between the two.

Misc
  • Guangchou has an incredibly long and elaborate full name that they relish using in its entirety when they are trying to make themselves look more impressive, but everyone else thinks it's the most fucking chuunibyou thing ever.

I'm too tired to write prose, but have some ideas I had for the Hetalia omake. Feel free you yoink these y'all.

Edit: The thumbnail for that video landed on just the most perfect timestamp, lmao.

Holy shit, I just realized that Leonid Kartzev has probably just been dismissed from the soviet army. He's probably bitter as all HELL that his design was adopted but all the recognition and state prizes were awarded to his rival before they drummed him out of the service!

This is the guy who basically designed the T-72 in spite of stiff political oposition and made it so good that literally everyone else had to admit that his design was the best and they should adopt it. We could get a primo tank designer on our side here.

Grab him then. Paperclip the hell out of everyone good and dispossessed.

Operation: New Colossus is a go. :V

What the CIA Expects: Super Robot
What Guangchou delivers: Immigration Reform

Edit:

Okay, thats funny!

@CyberEnby, please choose a bonus. (I also just realized what your username means, fml.)

lol, wait, what do you think it means?

We're going to need social actions soon.
