Well, for one, this is Bad Time US of A, USA, not our time-line. So the "communists" are squashed down in favor of more nazi's in this timeline.

For two: Why would any respectable AMERICAN newspaper speak about such lies as Unholy Godless Gay Communists within OUR Nation!? Preposterous!!!

The good news is that if America keeps on faceplanting we might get a "based" reverse-OTL situation in which Russian Communism (State Capitalism) "wins" by virtue of limping over the finish line intact, immediately goes all-in on the worst parts of themselves, does a victory lap with bold and arrogant "End of History" declarations and just starts falling to pieces in the 21st century. :V
 
Bad News: In this hypothetical Timeline America invades Canada in a fit of revanchist nationalist nonsense only to get BTFO'd by the Canadian military in the most shocking event of the 2020s. :V

Also, shockingly, the only "minor" nations that had anything crazy happen were india with a bit better economy, and new zealand going down the path of reconciliation with the natives.

I'm not as hopeful. Unfortunately the Klan will probably be fine.

We can probably guess that the Klan line is going to be victim blaming the girl and accusing her of sleeping with a black guy. And as such, plenty of assholes will nod their heads and go "Yup, fitting punishment for a 'race traitor'. "
 
We should set up "Operation Underground Railroad II" as a covert humanitarian action to smuggle vulnerable persons out of the southern states to either northern states, Canada, or to Guangchou.

And if there's some highly educated intellectuals who may be fleeing for their lives and decide to run as far away as they possibly can, well . . .

I wonder if it would be good for Jungmin to visit American and do a 'you didn't do a nuclear Armageddon, good job' media tour, but also use the opportunity to warn the American public of the dangers of cracking down on communists while ignoring fascists, drawing explicit parallels to the Weimar Republic and how the SPDs betrayal of the KPD laid the foundation for the Third Reich.
