You know, all the combination and configurations reminds me a lot of the granddaddy of Transformers- Diaclone.
Lots of manned sub-units combining into giant mecha and parts being swapped out or recombined as needed.

Are we ever going to end up with more of a Voltron-esque "form limbs and a torso" style? Is that a "research this" thing, or is it unlikely for stylistic reasons?
