[X] Plan Generalist

If the cache is part of a network it could potentially expose a whole bunch of other ones should someone have time needed to find them. Also we should totally pick up the chakra scalpel because doing so will improve Hisana's chakra control, which is necessary as she has far less chakra reserves than Naruto, and pressumably Sasuke.
[X] Plan Cat Person

Crows/Ravens would be a bad choice then. It might alert Itachi that maybe he missed just one more.
Er Itachi already knows, or there is a third Uchiha alive.
She could make out details that she'd never even known were missing. She looked up, and saw a blur of dark clothing and red eyes vanish into the night.

I want summons for social. Those were friends and allies of our clan. Likely ones that has been friends of our family for generations. As far as they know everyone in the family is dead (or they don't know anything has happened, and are probably surprised / concerned why they haven't been summoned for years).
This is inaccurate.
We know that summons come to human territory on their own, from watching Ma Toad come foraging around Konoha during the Pain attack.
And in the anime, they even pay for missions from the village.
The Cats even ran a safe house/arms depot in human space, where Shippuden Sasuke went for weapons and resupply.

They know we are alive. They are patient.
So can we.
Itachi summons crows in shippuden. Even if he has already signed the scroll (not a given), it's still one clan out of four who knows any Uchiha is alive, and might know (only might) what happened.
Also inaccurate.
It was a crow to which Itachi entrusted Shisui's surviving eye; that suggests he's had them since around the massacre, if not before.
Summon animals are intelligent, have agency, and it's been four years.
They are almost certainly all aware of how many of us there are.

@uju32 - Why did you go with explodable shuriken over Chakra Scalpels? Chakra Scalpels are almost certainly needed to actually do anything to the Sharigan.
They aren't.
Rin Nohara did not know Chakra Scalpel, just Mystic Palm, and she performed Kakashi's eye transplant.
Danzo did not know the Chakra Scalpel to steal Shisui's eyes. Pretty sure Itachi does not either.

Huh, I didn't know that. Although I must point out that taking eyes from dead/dying people is probably a lot easier then doing anything involving someone you want to continue living after the procedure.

That aside I'm still curious as to why you see exploding shuriken as more valuable then a safe and precise surgical technique that also doubles as a backup weapon?

This is inaccurate. Some of summons, not necessarily all of them, come to human territory, occasionally, on certain special occasions. So, some of them might know we are alive. It is absolutely not a given. And, even if they know we are alive, contacting us without a summoning scroll signed by us, which enables (reverse-)summoning is far more time and energy consuming.

So, this doesn't actually negate anything I said. Also, it doesn't negate all the other reasons for why it's better to get summons as early as possible. As it was the best to get seals as early as possible.

Okay. Here are my thoughts, running down the list:

x] - Fuinjutsu:
[x] - Reverse-engineering the controllable, detonable shuriken.
[x] - Try to create a basic chakra storage seal.

The control and explosions of the shuriken imply progress on learning how to create anchors for chakra strings, and explosive tags, both of which will be useful. 7/10.

Chakra storage seal. If it works, it's fantastic. If it works. However, even on a failure, we'll likely gain additional fuinjutsu experience, and additional chakra knowledge (chakra transfusions, perhaps.) 8/10.

[x] - Ninjutsu
[x] - Learn the Shadow Clone jutsu, then teach it to Naruto.
[x] - Pay for a mission to retrieve a summoning scroll from an Uchiha weapons depot and sign it. The others will be retrieved but not signed.
[x] - Cat
[x] - Hawk
[x] - Raven
[x] - Crow

If we have the chakra for them, then summons are an incredible force multiplier - not just in combat, but also in training. I'd shy away from the crow contract, given Itachi's whole deal, but any of the other three are promising.

Hawk, in particular, provides aerial surveillance even at a low level, and later on probably has decent Wind jutsu to go with it's flight capabilities.

It's also a big boost to Sasuke - unlike the other options, this will immediately improve his level as well. If we're boosting Naruto, we shouldn't neglect our cousin. In addition to being a dick move, it also increases the chance of him brooding his way into a bad end.

Cat Contract: 8/10
Raven Contract: 8/10
Hawk Contract: 9/10

By way of comparison, the Shadow Clone Jutsu... is probably a trap. We can't use it ourselves for years, yet, and teaching it to Naruto will raise questions we'd prefer not to have asked. This is something we can ask Naruto's teacher about (or tell him to ask about, if we get different teachers) once training proper begins. 3/10.

[x] - Genjutsu
[x] - Learn more Sharingan Genjutsu

Sharingan Genjutsu is the cream of the crop, especially since its hand-free nature combines well with swordplay. 8/10.

[x] - Kenjutsu
[x] - Learn techniques intended to counter ninja from a former Samurai.
[x] - Try to integrate your Wind Release with your kenjutsu

Both of these are autopicks for me. Getting gud is important, we're going to be facing ninja, and Wind Release as applied to blades is pretty fantastic - see Asuma. 10/10 for both.
[x] - Iryojutsu
[x] - Investigate dojutsu specific techniques.
[x] - Learn the Chakra Scalpel

These, on the other hand... "Dojutsu specific techniques" basically means eye transplants, as far as I can tell. And while those will probably become relevant eventually, I'm unconvinced that they're worth a precious training slot now, of all times. 4/10.

Chakra Scalpel is similar, really. We aren't going to get on Kabuto's level with it... well, ever, really. We don't have Sakura's talent for chakra control, and the time it would take to get the chakra scalpel technique up to the level it can be applied to our swordplay would almost certainly be better spent on other pursuits. 2/10.

Going through the list, my top six actions individually are:

[x] Plan: Be Prepared!

[x] - Kenjutsu
[x] - Learn techniques intended to counter ninja from a former Samurai.
[x] - Try to integrate your Wind Release with your kenjutsu.

[x] - Pay for a mission to retrieve a summoning scroll from an Uchiha weapons depot and sign it. The others will be retrieved but not signed.
[x] - Hawk

[x] - Genjutsu
[x] - Learn more Sharingan Genjutsu

[x] - Fuinjutsu:
[x] - Reverse-engineering the controllable, detonable shuriken.
[x] - Try to create a basic chakra storage seal.

Doubling up on fuinjutsu probably maximizes the chances of getting chakra storage going. Additionally, being able to create our own explosive tags means we'll have a ready stock once the fun begins. Having chakra storage lets us get more use out of summons. Hawk summons in particular go well with our Wind Affinity, which we're applying to our swordplay. In addition, we'll also be able to apply hands-free genjutsu in the middle of a sword fight, and we'll have the techniques ready if we need to face ninja.

1)Nekobaa knew Sasuke was alive in the manga.
Also in the anime, where Sasuke and Team 7 walked to the Nekomata's HQ; no summoning required.
You are making the assumption that Summon animals live in different realms, instead of simply hard to access parts of the Narutoverse world.

2) Citation please on contacting us being far more time and energy consuming.
You mean Konoha that Ma Toad used to come to forage for stuff to cook?
Summon animals are chakra users; the idea that they cannot and have not checked up in 4 years is risible.

And that even assumes that summon clans don't talk to each other.

Huh, I didn't know that. Although I must point out that taking eyes from dead/dying people is probably a lot easier then doing anything involving someone you want to continue living after the procedure.
Obito wasn't on the brink of death though.
And Shisui was healthy enough to escape Danzo, seek out Itachi and only after gifting him his eye did he commit suicide.

That aside I'm still curious as to why you see exploding shuriken as more valuable then a safe and precise surgical technique that also doubles as a backup weapon?
We have sealing techniques that put a knife in our hand at a moment's notice.
Same sealing techniques will just as easily store a medic's field kit, or a scalpel.

We're never unarmed and we know enough genjutsu to blind a special jounin for long enough to stab the hell out of him.
Chakra Scalpels require both a chakra supply and enough concentration to maintain the technique; more efficient to use a kunai from the sealing technique we learned a couple turns ago.

The explosive shuriken, OTOH, can be remotely activated, which means shuriken on the ground or in the air represent a threat always for the enemy to worry about. They can't just think about blocking them lest they explode in their face.
It can also be prepared beforehand, which means that you are not using part of your current chakra supply to spam ninjutsu, and can thus stretch your endurance longer. Or use your chakra on big techniques and use the explosive shuriken in lieu of smaller techniques.

Flexibility and endurance.
Won't help against S-classers, but jounin and below, it remains a credible threat.

EDIT
Remember, we already have kenjutsu.
And since we're Wind-natured, we can pick up other cutting Wind techniques.
We don't need everything to be a blade.

Fuinjutsu
[x] - Reverse-engineering the controllable, detonable shuriken.
This will allow us to go deeper into Explosive notes, and the Shuriken are basically turned into close to medium range guided frag missiles. Later you may be able to branch further and use Fuma Shuriken for more range and bigger explosions and shrapnel. This is a low chakra way to engage someone from a distance.

[x] - Try to create a basic chakra storage seal.
Hisana is going down to be a ninjutsu specialist, having a reserve in case of exhaustion is always a good idea. Often earlier in the series you see people run out or low on gas and have to hold themselves back. With her being a medic this is doubly important as it will allow her to fight and heal longer, perhaps saving people.
Ninjutsu
[x] - Learn the Shadow Clone jutsu, then teach it to Naruto.
Not a trap, she has near mid level chunin control and capacity so managing a clone will be useful. Safer scouting along with the possibility of doubling up on book learning.

[x] - Pay for a mission to retrieve a summoning scroll from an Uchiha weapons depot and sign it. The others will be retrieved but not signed.[x] - Cat
[x] - Hawk
[x] - Raven
[x] - Crow
Again, not a trap, she has both the control and capacity to summon normal level animals, just a question of preference. Cats are ground melee and ninjutsu, like her current abilities, they will be the heaviest melee hitters and combat backup, expect them to be most useful in protecting her back, the ones she currently summon would be fast and nimble fighters and the later ones would be very strong, nearly tank like. The Hawks would be mobility and melee also, so think skirmish tactics for them, hit and run largely, it is shown that the largest hawk was ridden by Sasuke. Raven would be long rage support, using ninjutsu to assist in combat, flying artillery. Crows would be genjutsu specialists however Itachi is a current user of crows so it may not be a good idea.
Genjutsu
[x] - Learn more Sharingan Genjutsu
This will allow us to mix it up more in close combat, and Genjutsu is generally chakra light as far as cost goes. It also does a good job of stretching chakra control too, while letter her mix it up as needed while in melee combat, very helpful since it is seal less.
Kenjutsu
[x] - Learn techniques intended to counter ninja from a former Samurai.
This will allow Hisana to easily interrupt hand seal usage in close combat. Very important if she is going to be a sword user.

[x] - Try to integrate your Wind Release with your kenjutsu
Wind Chakra is known for cutting and being one of the sharpest of the natures, if she coats her sword with it, she may be able to cut other materials with it easily. She will likely be able to create cutting blades with her sword, giving her long range without the use of hand seals too. She will also possibly learn chakra flow with the blades which eventually brancehs off to shape manipulation and being able to extend the blade of the sword with pure chakra and eventually shape it.

Iryojutsu
[x] - Investigate dojutsu specific techniques.
Probably allows for diagnostic techniques along with possibly targeting someone in combat to disable them.
[x] - Learn the Chakra Scalpel
Likely allows easier healing after combat, going deeper past this will involve more mental work and control then anything else

I do not, in fact, make that assumption. I am merely saying that they live in hard to access areas, some of them located far away from the Land of Fire.
2) Citation please on contacting us being far more time and energy consuming.
You mean Konoha that Ma Toad used to come to forage for stuff to cook?
Summon animals are chakra users; the idea that they cannot and have not checked up in 4 years is risible.
I disagree. When Shima came to forage for stuff in Konoha, she was using a special artifact that toads had - a special pool of some kind. You can clearly see her going into it on the way to Konoha, and out of it when returning. It's absolutely not a given that other summons would have stuff like that - toads (and slug and maybe snakes) are pretty damn special, we never see any other summon come anywhere close to them in terms of power.

Unless you are positing that summons have "teleport anywhere, globally, at will", without summoning and reverse summoning, travel having to be done physically is a reasonably assumption.

And that even assumes that summon clans don't talk to each other.
And that assumes they all live together somewhere. Didn't you yourself caution my against making that assumption (which I didn't, in fact, make)?

Also, this still doesn't negate the fact that, like shadow clones and chakra storage, summons are definitely something we want as early as possible, as having them opens us to training routes that allow us to accumulate strength and train more.

My biggest concern with plan EXPLOSIVE NINJUTSU is the action spent on sharingan specific medical techniques.

I've thought it over, and Shadow Clones are less of a trap then I thought - they seem quite promising, in fact.

But... what is a Sharingan specific medical technique? And why is it a better choice than picking up an additional form of training and support that synergizes with the chakra seal, namely, one of the summons? Or, for that matter, doubling up on kenjutsu to maximize the effectiveness of our primary combat style?

I do not, in fact, make that assumption. I am merely saying that they live in hard to access areas, some of them located far away from the Land of Fire.
Fair enough.
My apologies for the error.

Do you have any indication that this pool is special?
That other summon clans do not have access to similar fast travel portals to human-populated areas?

We see the Toad Clan in most detail because of their links to the protagonist.
We didn't know until the Sasuke-Itachi-Kabuto fight that at least two other clans were Sage users. Or that Hashirama himself was a Sage.
And that assumes they all live together somewhere. Didn't you yourself caution my against making that assumption (which I didn't, in fact, make)?

Not at the cost of exposing family networks and secrets to a village apparatus that we know OOC is thoroughly penetrated by hostile agents of both internal factions and foreign powers: ROOT and Orochimaru.
That was unable to prevent Orochimaru/Kabuto from laying their hands on samples of the bodies of their first two Kages.

It can wait till we go for it ourself, with an elite jounin.

As for Sharingan-specific med-techniques, there are two possibilites:
1) They are medical techniques for taking care of the Sharingan.
Obvious importance.

2) They are medical techniques that USE the Sharingan.
This is important because the last update outright warned us that our Mystic Palm is not good enough to stop wasting chakra.
We're not Naruto; we don't have chakra to burn, and the more efficient we are, the longer we last. It can be the difference between having enough chakra after healing someone to defend against incoming hostiles, and having to choose between healing an ally and being combat capable.

For example, remember Rin after she performed eye surgery on Kakashi? And didn't have much in the way of chakra left to fend off the attacking Rock nin? I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.

...wait doesn't the Sharingan unlock from the brain starting to emit a unique type of chakra? So Hisana would be able to tell whether, or not Sasuke unlocked the Sharingan by using her own Sharingan, how to safely make him realize he has it should be done by digging through the clan records on how past generations dealt with those who unlocked it, but forgot due to trauma. Although it is probably a simple matter of telling him to channel chakra to his eyes like even an unofficial Uchiha like Hisana was taught at a young age to do.
She channeled a little chakra, a brief crimson glow visible for only a moment as the chakra flowed from the tenketsu in her hands to the paper.
So the fire chakra affinity is part of the bloodline limit of the Uchiha Clan, this makes sense as literally every single named Uchiha has a fire affinity.

I suppose for all the issues the Uchiha Clan had it says something about them that they respected another Clan enough to make their coming of age tradition the ability to preform their signature technique, and repeated it enough times to gain a Clan wide affinity for the associated element.
Naruto ended up learning the Great Breakthrough jutsu, which made spars against him utterly annoying. The kid just didn't tire, and Hisana faintly dreaded facing shadow clones that also a library of ninjutsu to choose from in the future. He just fired off one jutsu after another, and it was all Hisana could to occasionally get in close and win the match.
This is a good thing Hisana, because an OP Naruto makes for a better challenge while training, and can accelerate her own growth. Frankly if Hisana can't overcome someone with loads of chakra reserves, and a moderately sized ninjutsu arsenal she is doomed, because he wouldn't be particularly OP compared what is out there in the Shinobi world.

Also Hisana absolutely needs to make sure Sasuke has the necessary chakra reserves to use the technique when she showing it to Naruto, or make him promise to wait until he has them to try out the technique. Otherwise he'll attempt it, and potentially end up in the hospital... frankly I'm concerned whether Hisana won't end up like that, but a plausible the reason it is listed as B rank are reasons other than it using large amount of chakra.
She sat atop the lake behind the Uchiha compound, practicing her water walking in preparation for learning the basics of the Mystical Palm jutsu. She'd gotten to the point now where she could meditate whilst water walking, and even then her Mystical Palm was likely to be inefficient and wasteful. It demanded a whole other level of chakra control, and Hisana was deeply impressed at Sakura for mastering the way she did with only three years training. Still, at least she'd have some capacity for healing then, which was never a bad thing.
Whats next performing the water walking technique in her sleep? GIving her friends practice breaking free of, and/or noticing Genjutsu by using it on them?
It was only a year til canon started, Hisana realised one day. Only a year. She'd grown strong, but strong enough? No, she'd need to keep training and hope that with the advent of Kakashi as her sensei she'd be able to speed up the pace of her learning.
I suspect Kakashi will only teach them teamwork, and just enough to keep the cycle of mutual self improvement between them sustained, well presuming they're placed in a regular genin team under him.
She and Sasuke had moved back into the compound this year. Most of it was available for rent, after putting every last personal effect into secure storage in the vault. The Uchiha vault was locked with a seal that only opened upon a transfusion of chakra with the signature of a Sharingan-delivered genjutsu.
Ah. Well Danzo already has access to whatever is in the vault I suppose.

Although it is possible Itachi never retrieved his OP sword/shield until after Sasuke joined Orochimaru, and Danzo had no need of them so he left them hidden, which is a situation that might allow Orochimaru to retrieve the legendary sword he has been looking to find.
The one that interested her the most was the one that listed the various powerful weapons, jutsu scrolls and summoning scrolls the clan owned with a location. The summoning scrolls especially intrigued her, with four different animal clans represented. She was pretty sure they were actually Uchiha vassals, technically.
So the summoning clans being vassals is why Naruto won't get one.
My biggest concern with plan EXPLOSIVE NINJUTSU is the action spent on sharingan specific medical techniques.

Probably checking the clan records for any warnings regarding the use, and/or care of ones Sharingan, simply playing it safe as she has noted this world isn't limited to canon nor filler for that matter. Also maybe looking into whether there is any health issues of unlocking your Sharingan, and not using it.

It occurs to me...this hypothetical team seven has two wind and two fire affinities.
The combination jutsu is real, particularly if we can learn one handed seals and thus use great breakthrough and grand fireball at the same time.

I remember it.
Do you have any indication that this pool is special?
That other summon clans do not have access to similar fast travel portals to human-populated areas?
I will be assuming they have no such things until I see evidence that they do. Circumstantially, remember that Jiraya, who was quite adept at sealing, and Minato, who was the time-space user of the era were both toad summoners.

We see the Toad Clan in most detail because of their links to the protagonist.
We didn't know until the Sasuke-Itachi-Kabuto fight that at least two other clans were Sage users. Or that Hashirama himself was a Sage.
And, again, until shown evidence to the contrary, I will be assuming that summon clans don't have global range teleportation as common ability.
They do not have to live together to talk. To communicate.
Humans don't.
They have to have established lines of communications to, well, communicate. And live in areas others can reach. As far as we saw, summoning clans don't have technology for radio communications, so communications would be done by messengers. Which is not a fact that they would use.
If you believe that anyone who truly wanted those things couldn't have gotten them in the four years they were there, unattended, I have a bridge to sell you. We don't have anything (like super-secret trap disarming codes) that Orochimaru and Danzo also didn't have access to since the destruction of the clan. If they wanted those secrets, and scrolls, they would have gotten them years ago.

[x] Plan: Be Prepared!

Voting for this one because it has good arguments, and because it seems to be the only one that doesn't involve teaching Naruto shadow clone.

Mostly I just want to mess with canon. At the very least, if we're going to teach him shadow clone, at least wait until he passes normally so we can watch Hisana panic over having disrupted canon.
