A very large smug looking copper dragon sticks its head into the thread. "He's not pining for the fjords just yet."

From somewhere offstage, one can hear Clock's response. "Damn straight I'm not! Those fjords are cold!"

"See! Everything's fine!"

Sinister Jack, umm, technically, yes. Don't worry though, he's going to get better real soon, we promise. Only thing is he's gonna be undergoing a few changes. A bit of a growth spurt, a new, rather more toothy, smile, that sort of thing. Oh and can't forget the new appreciation for teh shinies, can we.
So, technically he died and then coming back to life but with different changes?

Those are not actual princesses, just people acting as princesses.

Now there's a lot magical shenanigans going around... what if, one enchanted night, those actresses magicly became real princesses? Not the characters they portray, but princesses in their own right.

Though the local RenFaire would be closer than Disneyworld.

@XenoTekker : Updates are every saturday, barring familial obligation or real life interruptions. From 15 - 29 May I had to take care of my mom, who was recovering from surgery. She still is, but no longer needs every little thing helped with. I usually know a month in advance when I'm going on vacation, having health issues, surgery, or are having computer issues (which are very few and far between, thank God).

However, at the pace I'm going, it might be a month before everyone here finds out Dennis' ultimate fate of ultimate destiny...

Understood. Here's hoping he ends up better. I mean, he WAS dead but he got better. Judging by your little joke snip earlier.

Well guys and girls, at least Dennis can now reliably quote good old Monty Python and truly say "It's just a Flesh wound." In fact, knowing Dennis the first thing he'll say upon waking back up will be along the lines of "What's wrong guys, it was just a flesh wound." Then everyone else will be hoping Ethan (Assault) isn't around for them to do the whole skit.

Both Taylor and Amy are right next to him and are likely to still be so whenever he wakes back up. He'd get smacked upside the head by a Gold and a Silver if he did that. Then get glomped by Hlal of course.

I'm not clear on if Clock ever actually died - I don't think so, since it doesn't seem like Amy or Taylor used Raise Dead, but either way this world is operating under D&D rules, so death by ensanguination with an allied cleric 2 minutes away is a known revolving door, draconic interference or otherwise.

Hell, most of the people since Taylor the dragons have turned didn't actually need to be turned to survive - Taylor could (or even did) have it handled. The dragon gods just appear to be activating a very old very dusty contingency plan now that Tiamat is on board, and are using near-death experiences as their In, in much the same way Shards use traumatic experiences. Apeing that is probably making it way easier for them, since generally gods do have certain rules for interacting with mortals.

(Hlal is just taking advantage of the situation to turn Dennis into a dragon, since he's worthy of it and even if he doesn't forgive her... worth it)

The only real cliffhanger is what kind of dragon he'll end up as, unless for some strange reason he chooses to die.

Er, not sure what you're reading @Byzantine. But I don't think that's the case.

Amy: bled out, body had cooled, she was dead before Taylor got on the scene. In fact, she died pretty much instantly. She still could have decided to stay dead.

Dragon: The hardware running her as an emergency stopgap failed, she was dead. Go directly to the afterlife, do not pass go, do not collect $200. The fact she had developed an actual soul means she would have actually had an afterlife. Amy and Taylor had nothing to do with her resurrection. Dragon was given a choice to return or not.

Emily Piggot: She took an RPG to the face. By the time anyone capable of healing her arrived, she was dead and gone. Taylor had to try casting Raise Dead, and Emily was given the choice to return or not.

Clockblocker: He was evicirated and his throat torn out by Hookwolf, and probably bled out in seconds. By the time Amy arrived he was also dead and given a choice to return or stay in the afterlife.

Now, it's distinctly possible that Tia and her brother can't bring back the dead unless they are a dragon. With Taylor, she died in the ambulance. I think it's mentioned that she was on the verge of soul death, in which case there wouldn't have been an afterlife either. Thus her getting merged with the spirit of a dragon who had died young. If she hadn't accepted Tia and her brother's offer, it's quite possible that the EMT would have been unable to revive Taylor.

EDIT: Also keep in mind that Raise Dead requires the person be willing to return. Naturally, player characters are generally willing to return to life. But it's possible for someone to opt not to return.

In theory having died Clockblocker 's parents could claim death benefits.

...

Not that doing so would actually succeed.

Least it wasn't a dwarven throng - or Gimli in a thong - and now that mental image will never go away... :D

@Jadesteele : Thanks for that, now I have to go to the Kitten a day website and look at cute kitties for a while to get that image out of my head...

What image are you talking about? Why would the idea of a dwarven gong distress anyone? Let alone a gong owned by Gimli?
Like the intentional misread and have one from me.

It's probably a good thing I have no idea what is the problem with that, unless they are ment for males. *shudders*
