I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Meaning no offense to Dolgi, but due to Soul of the Earth and our other Traits, we can PROBABLY make them better than he can. Also age. Old Dawi = Better Dawi. And as such better crafting.

Also it'd feel weird to have other Runesmith's work on our retainers.

    • Well, now that's happened, I'd like to invite the thread to speculate on something.

    We know that for an organization, at R7, you get a bennie. But we have Karrinzaki already, and the Cult of Valaya isn't too fitting into how our stuff and system works.

    So what you think R7 from Armored Maidens will give us? I've been scratching my brain a bit and came up barren.
     
    Well I don't exactly agree with taking on Brana as part of our Hearthguard(I consider that too Radical for even Snorri) but I will respect it as the voters have spoken so I'll leave it be.

    Might be something for Valayan related orders (not really necessary) or another kind of person for the Valayans.
     
    Could be a chance of a research boost for healing-related and antimagic-related runes and mats? Just a guess, obv.

    Is there even a normal version of Rune of Flight? AFAIK it seems like some Master Runes don't have "normal" equivalents, really. And I'm really not sure what that would look like for Flight; you can throw your (incredibly valuable runic) weapon really well, but it doesn't come back? Yay?

    The problem is Karrinzaki are like, the perfect Hearth Guards, and Priestesses of Valaya don't really Fit. And what else would they have?

    And Valayan related orders would be... odd, given Orders aren't a huge deal, and this is a pretty major cult.

    @soulcake, is it possible for us to order a T4 Hearthstone? I mean, given we were technically the owner of the Hearthstone mime, do you reckon that it's just having the Hold's eldest jewellers or miners to seek one of our specifications?

    Wait, given that there's such a thing as T4 Troll's Heart, would there be such a thing as T4 Oathgold or the like?

    I don't think so. I mean a T4 Troll's heart simply comes from a bigger meaner Troll. Oathgold is oathgold unless someone is holding out on a legendary seam of the stuff.
     
    Crackpot theory: inverting whatever makes the dragon blood prismatic, we could restore the dragon blood's heat absorption capacity.
    I really want to understand that master rune

    I think we'd need to use Alchemy to refine a Hearthstone, in a similar way that we can convert T2 gromril into T4 Adamant.

    I actually came up with an idea for this, Mflight (KotS feathers) + Cold (T2 Frostwyrm heart) + Lightning (Dragon Ogre heart). Using a part of him for the flight rune plus hearts from the type of creature he killed should get it as close as possible to his powers and hopefully give Snorri some insight on making an actual ancestor rune for him. Though given we just got a bit of insight on the fate rune we might be able to use that to discover an ancestor rune the same way Gazul did with the other ancestors.

    The King of the Skies feathers seem more appropriate for something that has more focus on the fact that he's divine and/or a king. We can simply order a T4 ingredient from a flying creature if we want one, it's harder to find something with associations with divinity and royalty.

    Something for the Ancestor rather than Master Rune of Grimnir, in his aspect as a dynamic war leader/general rather than a warrior perhaps.

    On that note, I wonder if you can use multiple reagents for a rune, such as using a feather soaked in Grimnirzan. This may be another use for Alchemy, alchemical reactions between reagents not only to purify them to strengthen them, but to produce novel ingredients with more focused effects.

    Why stop at two reagents? Blend all our reagents into one giant sticky clump, pour the mixture into a Master Rune and see what happens.

    I do agree Dhar is a possibility, but also even apart from that I doubt it would work. As we saw with the funny metal water thing, reagents that cling to too many concepts risk doing all of them less well than one that just does one well. Also the possibility of reducing efficiency by merging conflicting conflicts.

    I'm not even convinced that we will be able to do alchemy improving and merging reagents the way Alratran seems to think we will be able to.
