Do we have a Boulder Bomb available? I think a surprise yeetsplosion might be fun.

You did, yes

Hmm, we could to try drop Abjorn right on top of the bear.
That's no biggie. I, uh, I got distracted with a game so I'm probably not going to be doing a second updateFYI I'm gonna be out of communication for around an hour. I'm happy to write the mechanical part of a plan (or provide feedback on other people's) once there's a consensus, but it's gonna be a minute.
Sure!@Imperial Fister, can we be assumed to have replaced our three-fold IAT in our fast in the intervening time here? It's part of our standard loadout and obviously useful here, and we've had an hour or so where we were hunting the deer and whatnot.
You have about 6 hours till sundown. You got lucky on the hunting roll. You're not entirely sure, but you think that the shadow has to exist while it is inside it in order to work. If the bear's not there to block the light, then there's no shadow to sink into.IF, important questions: Can the bear use its own shadow for submerging? And how much time do we have until sun down?

Couldn't we just hold it in place with a sufficiently strong IAT, and then us and Abjorn just stab the fuck out of it?
Thats a good point, but lets keep in mind what happened with its arm, we do not need a literally disarmed abjorn because the bear gecided its worth losing some meat to the light if it gets away from the two norseman. We're not sure how it does it shadow porting, but I'm betting it requires it to be in contact with the shadows. If we drop Abjron directly on top of the bear I'm betting he'll be able to latch on and ride it anywhere it'll try to port to or pull it away.
oh! what if we combine the pincer and aerial attacks? Abjorn occupies its attention while we go from above (making sure it can't see us in the water's reflection) and surprise it with the IAT?It seems able to shadow-meld out of IAT...at least partially. We'd need to catch, like, it's head specifically in order to prevent that. We should definitely try, but we shouldn't put all our eggs in that particular basket.
Did it shadow-meld out of IAT? If we didn't cut off the shadows that lead it to getting portal cut I assume the bear would have been stuck for as long as IAT kept it there. It seems able to shadow-meld out of IAT...at least partially. It didn't shadow meld out of the IAT, it got banished because the sun we spawned pushed the shadows back, which in turn pushed the bear- who happened to be bound to the shadows at the time - back too. The arm happened to get cut off because it was stuck in IAT, so it couldn't follow the bear.

Reading back to the update where the bear lost its arm, it appears like our IAT wrapped around its arm... which was the one it left behind to flee. So whatever shadow-melding it can do, our Standstill appears to be able to hold onto it.
That means that an IAT to the head or torso would instantly be fight-ending, and honestly, getting another of its limbs would effectively be fight-ending as well, because with two limbs lost, it isn't going to be able to run away or honestly fight for that matter either.
Hmmm. Fair point with it losing another limb probably making it unable to flee effectively...maybe just shock and awe it with a very high dice immediate Standstill and then help Abjorn finish it off once it's trapped, then?
