Right, the dwarf thing, forgot about that. Yeah, okay, sure, we can do that instead.

Especially since Halla's probably going to end up knocked up again at the end of the Wedding. We want to get into trouble before that roll resolves.

We will be able to resolve the Dwarf Event before this resolves, right @Imperial Fister ?

Halla's still nursing and so hopefully won't be making rolls for baby-making as of yet, though a wild enough party could change that. On the other hand, only one wedding has been wild enough and it's one where we made, IIRC, a critical failure to hold our liquor, so I wouldn't call that likely, though it's possible.

What about Solrun? Would give us 3 things we can ask from her.
  1. To learn our first high seidr spell. That should probably be a good intro to working with spirits.
    • Fertility would be... meme-y, and probably good business if we sell stuff from our farm
    • good health would be generally usefull, probably sells good too, if the ingredients are practical, and could make a good gift to a departing friend (*cough*Aki *cough*).
  2. Maybe a 3-pack of "unlock Seidr for personal training",
    1. Eyetalking
    2. ??? Maybe something about finding stuff? (The real owner of our first axe, that bastard we are fated to fight in a live or death fight, a friend like Aki if they have to move away)
    3. ???
  3. ask her about the "and catching glimpses of the future" part of how she described her typical work. Thats something we don't know about yet.

We should get a spell to defend against foul magics and evil spirits ASAP.

My three choices would be

#1: Defensive spell
#2: Question/spell for going underground longer (we'd request a spell, but default to advice if she doesn't have one)
#3: Get some healing/shapecrafting (if she knows the latter) spells to learn on our own.

We should already have eyetalking unlocked, right?

We do, yeah. That and fertility.

[ ] (Seeress) Learn seidr with the Seeress (Only available during Summer)
-[ ] Write in up to 3 things to request of her
This means up to 3 of those time slots, right?

When talking to the Seeress, you have a portion of 'time slots'. You can spend one time slot to learn one seidr spell, ask a question, or get a small selection of spells to practice and learn on your own — which is done through either Researching it or just normal trick, I'm still a bit undecided on that.

You'll have an opportunity every turn in Summer to talk to the Seeress, though I'm still playing around with that.

Also:
Do we already have eyetalk unlocked?
(@Imperial Fister)

Just a reminder if we go to the dwarf war:
We need something to pin our Hamingja in the positive, without the dark underground twisting it.

Wedding is a lock in, yeah, even if it wouldn't be mandatory we would go for it.

So, we gonna chase the mirage or not with Fygla?

Yup. That's why it's one of the three Seeress Topics I'm thinking of.

Wedding is a lock in, yeah, even if it wouldn't be mandatory we would go for it.

I'm not sure we should, honestly, not on a turn when we're already going off to war. I'm thinking just explore the hills?

You know, @Imperial Fister, this talk of Rome and Constantinopolis reminded me of an obscure theory that Valhalla is based on distorted reports about the Colloseum.
Eh, can't say I'm the biggest fan of that theory

Edit: @Imperial Fister, are you going to add searching for the battlesite under exploration as optional or we will need to scout the Hading as a general action?
Good idea, I'll add that in
@Imperial Fister wait, we have to spend an action getting training from the Seeress? I thought that was every turn (during the summer)? That's a lot harder to pencil in and a little weird given we don't for other training.
Good point, I'll swap it around. Probably should still keep the cap on number of things seeing as you've got a lot of powerful things there.
We will be able to resolve the Dwarf Event before this resolves, right @Imperial Fister ?
I typically order my events based on how the plan orders them, but sure.
Also:
Do we already have eyetalk unlocked?
(@Imperial Fister)
I'll add it to your Low Seidr stuff

Good point, I'll swap it around. Probably should still keep the cap on number of things seeing as you've got a lot of powerful things there.

Oh, absolutely. That's sort of what I was expecting: 3 things every round from her (or whatever). The action cost is what threw me.
.
.
.
FYI, with that, I have a plan and will post it in, like, half an hour, but I'm walking somewhere between now and then and will be incommunicado.

I think I would lean towards sparring with Gabrial, wedding, and dwarf war. as the three actions I would shoot for. I think the ship and Eric's wife can be the next turn personally.

When we were talking about landmines in going to stage 2, one thing I was wondering about is people already in the height of their career with high Orth . It's not impossible to have enough Orth to draw at once above (9+81) Odr needed to reach the next stage. heck Blackhand discovered Odr when he was 24, and there a fair chance he was above 2430 Orth needed for that.

Would it be possible for someone to breeze past stage one? would they get a warning that they are about to breakthrough, if not to the possible threat to that. Does Odin throw some cryptic word at them to warn them off?

Would being that level of badass make the scavengers that come to hunt a nonthreat that they don't really need a strong boundary at that point? Would they stunt their own growth because they were accidently too cool for stage one and didn't put the proper foundation?

"Hey Blackhand, do you remember how long you were at Saga Establishment? do you remember if you did any of the preparation we plan to do?"

@Imperial Fister do the Work Dice occur at the beginning of the turn like Training Dice or at the end? It might be worth putting off the Wavedancer thing to make Asva an awesome present if they occur first and we thus have a killer workspace available, but I doubt that's the case.

This does also assume Solrun's Training doesn't cost Training Dice which seems right, but I'd like to check and make sure.

EDIT: Added making a nice present for Asva rather than checking the ship, which involves investing dice into the actual building stats.

They occur at the beginning of a turn

Also, you should probably clarify high seidr or low seidr with your preferences toward spells
So every turn during summer, we can learn a free seidr spell from the Seeress?
You could, if you so desired, learn 3 every turn (tentative)
Could we send our fylgja to look someone in the eye to send a message?
You could, yes
"Hey Blackhand, do you remember how long you were at Saga Establishment? do you remember if you did any of the preparation we plan to do?"
'I do not recall, unfortunately.'

How did Drifa take the felag story and poetry lesson?
I think that section was forgotten and then later when drifa training was written about it was just the standard combat curriculum.
Ah dammit, that's my bad there.

What was the contents of the story and poetry lesson again?
So we could make a crafting action this turn with, like, 10 bonus successes from Workshop? Or would we need to assign the dice differently for that? Probably worth it if we can, and I'll adjust.
That sounds right, though I'm not sure if it really should be 10 bonus successes as that seems a bit ridiculous given all your other bonuses but perhaps

Oh. what the deal about how Tricks and Hugareida and Runes works inside our soulscape, this could help with the farming and building houses and fences, so it's worth a shot. Also Seidr, especially Seidr.

@DeadmanwalkingXI , maybe it worth making a wall warding Seidr a priory and see if we can either place it or even incorporate into when we are building the wall in our soulscape.

Ah dammit, that's my bad there.

What was the contents of the story and poetry lesson again?
(was meant to use cool (from Drifas point of view) raid stories (and that was a poem at the squire fight, not a speech) to get her interested in poetry)
-[X] (Drifa) Teach Drifa some of your tricks (Write in)
--[X] Begin by telling her stories about our adventures, including our inspirational speech before the Squire fight and reciting the poems of our adventures to get her to consider learning poetry as well as combat skills (assuming she's not already trained).

What was the thought process for learning shoot again? If we are looking for a ranged option wouldn't kindle spinner be better? Doesn't it become free once it's perfected?

Ah dammit, that's my bad there.

What was the contents of the story and poetry lesson again?

The story was about when we used poetry to make a difference in a fight on our raid (the pre-Squire Fight pep talk), the lessons were just, y'know, poetry lessons.

That sounds right, though I'm not sure if it really should be 10 bonus successes as that seems a bit ridiculous given all your other bonuses but perhaps

That's fair. Maybe have it be +1 success in a number of areas equal to Building Quality and the Workshop stat adds on top of that? So at Building Quality 5 and Workshop 4, we can get +5 successes in five areas (like Smithing, Weaving, Carpentry, Brewing, and, uh, one other thing)?

Does that sound right?

@DeadmanwalkingXI , maybe it worth making a wall warding Seidr a priory and see if we can either place it or even incorporate into when we are building the wall in our soulscape.

Good idea, but we can do it next turn before continuing to start making the wall.

Drifa was enamored by the story and reveled in the violence. She didn't have much of a response when you reached the field of ruined flowers, merely shrugging and being mildly disappointed that you didn't fight the Knight.

Poetry doesn't seem to be her thing, but since you do it, she also wants to do it.

Yeah, that sounds about right. The fifth one can be masonry

Can one of them be Cooking (not necessarily now, but maybe as our 6th)? Or is that just covered by other stuff?

Well, with that in play we should definitely make Asva a present. What should it be? The easiest thing for us is to make a new set of tools for ourselves and give her our current one, but that's a little selfish maybe? Those are good tools, but we can make something better.

Wait. Why 19? Is that Work Knife + Scythe + Plow + Wood Axe? Just asking so we know which things to enhance to make it better.

A good health Seidr spell?
From Solruns description that seems to be an evergreen.

With tools... Is that something fitting for her?

Sure! I see nothing necessarily wrong with that. Heck, we can swap out brewing with cooking if so desired.

Actually, why don't we have it be 'slots' instead of just a flat thing?

Asva is a very good seamstress.

She would not appreciate hand-me-downs on her wedding day.

It is, yes. I've also updated the tools in your inventory to account for the mechanics shift
