Can we make some time for learning farming from Steinarr? Since he is supposed to be a genius at farming, he likely has really good tricks for it. I know that we have not had any difficulty with farming, but his knowledge will be lost when he is gone and his time is coming up soon.

This is actually in my plan for next turn along with visiting Asvir (which we need to both start our seidr training and buy new livestock). The third action is a bit more up in the air (we should probably wait until we've got our workshop rebuilt for crafting, and maybe not do the dwarven thing the same turn as the Asvir visit...we could ask the seeress about ways to not have our luck go sour underground first, for one thing), but those two are definite.

Though, as I've said before, I see no reason Steinarr might not live out another 10 years or more in comfortable semi-retirement and die in bed an old man surrounded by his kin. That could also not happen, but his death is not necessarily imminent.

Didn't we have a dwarf friend in the fight?

Also, what were the kill counts? On phone for now.

Nah, he was explicitly just a guide and not gonna fight (basically, he was gonna stay out of it so no matter how it went he could report back to his dad).

Stigr - 213
Stigmar - 238
Eric - 438
Halla - 1230
Gabriel - 1624

Basically, Stigr and Stigmar are solid, Eric is hardcore, we cheated with AoE, and Squires and Knights are apparently specialized in this.

Holy shit.

…,

He's only a squire!

Wha-

…….

They're literally invulnerable to non-magical attacks and taught to fight armies of non-cultivators. They are apparently very good minion sweepers. For additional context, he got a x4 multiplier from all that, so his total would've been 406 without his specialization in this area.

Our own total absent the boulder bombs and other cheating would've been 444, but it actually would likely have been a bit higher since we would've replaced the boulder bombs with other attacks.

Knights being basically immune to peasants is pretty historically accurate, and this translating to Gaberiel getting big bonuses against people that can't fight back makes sense.

Yep. It's anachronistic only inasmuch as plate armor didn't exist in this era and was a large part of that invulnerability, but this is really cool and we're in Xianxia world. It's also obviously more extreme here, but see again regarding 'Xianxia world'.

Joking aside, I think we may as well use our third action for a Gabriel interaction-slash-spar? He mentioned an interest in a rematch, and we may as well drop the whole "Right, I've got a ship, once I've put a crew and cargo together, we should be able to get you back home probably by next Summer." thing while we're at it.

We do need to spar with him in the near future (and propose the trip to Wessex), but I'm a little reluctant to get our armor beat up right before serious combat. We do want to go and help the Dwarves the very next turn, so putting off sparring until after that might be preferable.

Hrm, Wavedancer Check then? Since we're going to be in town anyway?

Huh. He was engaged, wasn't he? Also, he hasn't seen his fiancee in a significant number of years, and she has no real expectation that he'll ever return, while Halla keeps being awesome and age-appropriate and smoking hot and very, very married while in his general vicinity. Like, I could see how that might leave him feeling kind of unhappy about that whole situation.

As for plot hooks... Is the monk dude still around, or has he wandered off?

Oh! Didn't we get a bunch of scary seeds out of that meteor once upon a time and then not ever do anything with them? That seems like an interesting plot hook that we might be better-suited to manage now.

Eric quest must be out of their minds. First they leave home to make their way, successfully rise to prominence, find love, find loss, and return to see home while on official business. Next they see their adorable ankle-biter of a sister utterly eclipse their combat contributions against a horde of troll-men. And she's got some kind of Christian super-soldier???

The supersoldier is Steinarr's fault.

While you were farming I was studying the blade

Yeah, that's probably a large part of what's going on with him.

Gabriel talked with him recently, so he's not too far, but he's not living with us.

I think we need to actually get some of that sweet farming training with Steinarr before doing this, but it's on the list, yeah.

The supersoldier is Steinarr's fault.

Not really. We're the one who freed him, gave him armor and a sword, and got him to actually help us kill things. Steinarr is the reason he's in the country, but not the reason he's out with us fighting Troll-Men.

We could get Eric to check out our ship while he's here.

Eric lives here now (well, in Asvir, but that's also where the ship is, I think), so it's not urgent, but we should bring him along whenever we look it over, yes.

Stigr probably used his spear more than his sword because he can't shapeshift like the others so the extra range is a godsend for a squishy like him.
