I mean, I'm not complaining, Abjorn is Best Bear, but it's nice to see we can get along with him too.

At least, I hope so anyway.

Didn't know there were other husbando candidates. Abjorn wrecked everyone else pretty much immediately.

The initial husband candidates were Abjorn and Stigr. I think we can all agree that Abjorn makes for a better husband (sorry Stigr) and by the time Gabriel was introduced, I believe we were already betrothed. Likewise with Folkmarr.

Although, to be honest... I would've still gone for Abjorn. Might change my mind on Folkmarr - that's a very big 'might' mind you - since we don't trolly know him all that well, but Abjorn is the better pick between him and Gabriel imo.

FolkmarrQuest must've gotten a nat 100 or something. A shame for them that we're already married.
From their view he got a nat 100 worthy companion with potential to become even better.
If the Nornir (dice) screw Abjorn hard, we might even become single again.
Just give Abjorn high risk high reward offers to get into win win situations for Folkmarr.
Abjorn succeeds: Glory for him and Folkmarr.
Abjorn fails: Death in glory for Abjorn, Abjorns wife is now a widow that remembers Folkmarr as an honorable friend of Abjorn that helped the family by giving Abjorn many great chances to prove himself and earn Orthstirr.

Bet FolkmarrQuest thread is right now planning how to to best make friends with Halla and Abjorn.

Nah, they're probably debating the pros/cons of trying to get Halla to divorce Abjorn.

Heh. As if that'd ever happen.

Sorry, send before having all my thoughts on papere, edit'ed to fix.

Trying to get them to divorce has risk of alienating. It is also questionable from a Drengskapr/Odrengskapr perspective.
But showering him with chances to earn Orthstirr from danger? (Always being clear about risk and reward)
Would be doing Abjorn a favor over and over again, with Folkmarr winning either way it goes.

What do you mean? Like if he doesn't get Halla with child, he'll be forced to divorce him?
If he gets killed in action. It is a fact of life that raiding includes that risk.
And a fact well accepted in the culture.

A funny thing about that is that an offer along those lines wouldn't actually be very attractive to Abjorn, thanks to one of his Flaws

@CedeTheBees is using 3 Reward Dice on Reinforce-Shield
@Constenanto is using 1 Reward Dice on Ember-Winged Cloak
That all correct?

we gotta get that drawback if we can, it seems just too nice....

I mean, we've got like a 2/3 chance per kid just due to how Traits work, and it is a drawback so we don't actually want it. I do think it's probably not worth locking out, though. Honestly, I think most drawbacks aren't worth locking out. We either have 'em or we don't. I'd much rather lock in positive stuff.

It, uh, it has a malus towards orthstirr gain. Sort of the opposite of Bold

Ah. I'll adjust my estimates of his orthstirr down a bit then.

Yikes.

I wonder, is there some sort of coward trait? If there is presume Horra would have it.

Okay, that we'd definitely lock out. But I don't see us marrying a coward, so it probably won't come up.

Certain Flaws and certain Boons cancel each other out. Bold and Content, for example, cancel each other out
That's excellent news, actually. It means most of our kids likely won't have the Content flaw (only 2/9 on average)...most won't have the Bold boon either (again, only 2/9), but while cool that doesn't seem essential. I'm comfy with those odds given we don't have to play as any particular kid. And unlike many other drawbacks, it doesn't make the kid's life worse or anything. Having some of our kids be super chill chill seems fine. We may not want to actually play as the most chill ones, but they can readily exist and live long happy lives.

Lotharinga is our destination, was checking wikipedia and historically they got beaten up by the vikings so bad one became a duke, not as bad as Wessex where they became a danish vassal.

Huh. I wonder if Abjorn had a hugareida? I feel like he got a muna the same time we earned our first muna (when we kissed him) but he didn't seem to have any when we were at Halfdan's farm. I wonder if he earned one when he fought the draugr.

@Imperial Fister can we ask if he does have one?

If I've learned anything about Gavelkind succession from CK2, having a portion of our kids/siblings that we don't choose to continue playing being Content will only help us.
