I think one question for what we can buy that will sell best in Denmark might be the way to go...we need to go back to Denmark anyway due to Johannes and we don't want to take forever. One question on that subject seems right, though.

Something like "Of the available commodities in Uppsala right now, which would sell for the most in Denmark, as compared to its price in Uppsala?"

Yeah I'd be down for this. Immediately useful question to be answered. Can even help our crew if they've got money from selling their own stuff.

Have reconsidered on the origin part of the Maarahvas. Estonian Cultivation is a cousin to Norse cultivation, so how they gain power should be applicable for Norsepeople like us as well.

In retrospect though, we probably should have voted for this:

How else will we confuse future historians into thinking that Halla is actually one of Odin's kennings?

"She has one eye - Look, she's obviously Odin dressed up as a woman. This happens all the time in the Norse Sagas."

Presumably this means that 'cindersoot owl' is a kenning for 'raven'.

" 'Bloody great bird with soot-coloured feathers'. Yep, that's a raven. Why couldn't these assholes ever settle on one name for something?"

Other parts of Halla not helping (TM) with the Odin comparison:

Halla-Valhalla, Odin's hall. "Could you be any more obvious?"
Halla wielding an Atgeir, which could be seen as a spear.
Halla being a Seeress/Warrior, like Odin.
Halla being good at runes, like Odin.
Halla being descended from Odin, at it being a point of pride "I think it's pretty obvious when Odin says I have the blood of Odin running through my veins, such an obvious misdirection."

The only part that really detaches her from Odin is her forging stuff really. And people might assume that's dwarves!

Distant future Valhalla has an infuriated Halla and an Odin laughing whenever her legacy comes up.

There is also her being a mother and having a husband. People who actually keep track of genealogy will know that Halla Steinarrsdottir was a historical personage...though, that said, they are likely to ascribe some or all of her more outrageous feats to the 'got confused with Odin' theory, which will not upset her any less, I don't think.

Hey Halla,

1) When you were recruiting crew members, did you check everyone with your Adder Stone?
a) Would this have been impolite to do so?
2) When you 'filter' Odr with Orthstirr Seive, does it become 'less powerful' (being worth 'less' for purposes of powering things), more 'Orthstirr-like', anything of that sort beyond being less dangerous?

Hey Blackhand,

1) Aside from the obvious, do you know of any cool stuff a Seer can do with Sundersight in your travels? Or even Seerisight, generally. If there's a generally about it.
2) Do you know of any reason why my Flygjur flying over the Vittra's herd might have broken the illusion, and why I could see them clearly afterwards with my eyes?
3) Have there been a lot of spirits spying after me lately? The number of spies around me is getting concerning.
4) Where do you nap, anyway? In the Soulhouse I built?

Her biggest achievements just taken away like that? Yeah, it would be a 'yeesh' moment for her.

Since we have already written a book abaout the basics of Norse Cultivation, we should write another abaout more advanced/esoteric techniques.

Like a book abaout Seidr or one abaout Hugareida.

I am also interested abaout writing down this Estonian magical secrets. So our descendants can learn them too.

I think we will need to share at least the spell one with Asva.

You did not as it would be accusing them of lying, which they would have to defend else face nid.

Being less powerful is what makes it less dangerous

'I once knew a skald with scrysight who would use it to peek on women bathing to use as inspiration for his poetry. That's probably not what you were after, though. Most people with Sundersight keep it to themselves as nobody likes knowing that you can just catch a glimpse and know all their weaknesses.'
2) Do you know of any reason why my Flygjur flying over the Vittra's herd might have broken the illusion, and why I could see them clearly afterwards with my eyes?
'The Gods willing it to be so? I wouldn't put it past a Jotun to mess with you in such a manner. They can be quite subtle when they want to be.'
3) Have there been a lot of spirits spying after me lately? The number of spies around me is getting concerning.
'Spirits are always spying, it's what they do. For them, information is power in a very real way. There haven't been any notable upsurge, though, at least not as long as I've been back.'
4) Where do you nap, anyway? In the Soulhouse I built?
'I made a hammock—a sort of sling suspended between two anchors—in your orchard. It took some time, but weaving it was worth it.'

Probably not all of them. The stuff overtly involving fire would stick, for example, as might things like the Hooknails duel, but losing stuff like the riddle contest to 'oh, that's due to being confused with Odin' would definitely still sting.

I think one thing to consider is that the things history considers interesting about historical figures are rarely the things they would consider most important. If Gildas knew that his book of religious instruction for Welsh-Brythonic kings was mostly remembered today as evidence in endless debates over the historicity of King Arthur, for example, he'd probably be quite surprised. Halla might well be most prominent as a figure in debates about how Norse farming or lord-retainer relationships worked, or as part of the argument over the role and status of women landholders.

Another big thing to consider is the importance of written sources in illuminating the historical record, and that Halla is standing under a lighthouse on a hilltop in comparison to the many dark valleys of obscurity around here. If the Hallamal survives into the modern era, she will be immeasurably more prominent and accessible to historians than most other Norse cultivators of her power and status simply because of that. In fact, if Blackhand is remembered, it's quite likely that one of the best primary sources for his life and historicity will be the Hallamal.

as part of the argument over the role and status of women landholders.

That is probably what most historians would know her for. And what the debates abaout her would be mostly abaout.

Her writings abaout farming will probably also be another main argument.

I mean, considering that the Norse mostly DIDN'T WRITE ANYTHING she would be one of the very very few non-Christian historical sources abaout Norse culture, religion and life.

If we also consider all the historical and mythical things she references in the Hallamal, i am sure she put some passages abaout Steinarr, Blackhand and Solrun at least, then she will be one of THE main sources abaout Norse history.

Her name would basicaly be on every schoolbook abaout the Norse and talked in every University related to Archeology or Medival History.
