Then we should ask him for any advice he can give, it's not any day you can ask an old friendly odr cultivator well if he wakes up before we go… I wouldn't want to be the one who tried t interrupt his sleep.
Not really. There are some wisps here and there, but it's overshadowed by Brimir. You wouldn't be able to detect if they are odr cultivators or what, not with Brimir completely drowning out the place

I wanna spar with Kinsmen mostly so we can have a good gauge on how good we are, comparatively. Both to our age bracket and outside of it. I don't really feel like I have a perfect view of how good Halla is.

This is definitely a large part of it, yeah. We need more points of comparison for how good we are. I mean, obviously we're good, but exactly how much so is less clear.
I don't think playdates are the best idea. We don't want to get too attached here when I'm pretty sure this place is doomed. We'd take in refugees, but there's no guarantee the small children ours played with would be among them, and I doubt we can get them to change their way of life enough to not be doomed.
See, I don't think they're doomed in the immediacy, both between their own strength, their defensive positions, and their experience. I think they'll probably be around, and it'd be neat to make ties to them to let our kids know our extended family a little more. Halla knew nothing about most of them, after all. It's kinda sad in its own way, and her own internal narration hinted at some of the sadness of not knowing family. I think even if they are ultimately doomed, trying to introduce the family and mend ties and make sure our kids know who family is is... good?
And it could be an interesting non 'instant Varangian' route for someone like Asgeirr to take - he goes to join family and learns to raid from the Best Raiders in the family, linking up with cousins and uncles to learn the ropes.
I'm sure they will eventually be doomed, and that if we did choose to play as Asgeirr and then go and join them for a few years, that doom would assuredly come in his life so he could try to fight against it with them. That doesn't mean we should plan it all to that.
Well, maybe we can get two spars, one with someone hardcore and the other two on one against the weaker foes? We could use more experience fighting multiple opponents.
Or maybe they're too weak for that. Who knows what the numbers mean.
[X] Perhaps you can spar with some of your kinsmen?

"Wanting to spar, are you?" Hall chuckles as he leads you towards a section of empty fields split into four quadrants. A number of thralls work to mend the damage done to one field while the youth train and play in another. "Come, I'll find you some worthy opponents."
With that, he leaves you for a short while before returning with a trio of large lads in tow.
"So," the largest of the lot, a younger man with a hefty scar under an eye, steps forward with crossed arms, "you're our cousin, then?" He looks you up and down before extending a hand, "I'm Rikard Rockstrong, that's " he jerks a thumb at the next tallest, "Audvin Star-Hunter, and he's," he nods to the shortest of your potential opponents, "Forseti Dandelion."
"Nice to you meet you," you take each of their hands in turn, "I'm Halla Sunshine and I'm excited to see how strong my kin are!"
Rikard guffaws as he beats a fist against his broad chest, "Than you'll find no better battles than us!"

AN: So I, uh, I may have accidentally forgotten that I was going to have you folks roll for the strength of your opponents. Eh, whatever.
The strongest of the three, not quite our match in Orthstirr, but better than us in combat pool. I'm interesting in what Cliffside Crest is, and Muscle Hugareida is... hilarious as an idea.

These people are definitely more Warrior trainned than us. We have higher Orthstirr than them, but are only only barely above the weaker two in combat pool, which kinda shows how much training they likely do.
We are nowhere near strong enough to fight all three of them.
