Hmm, the whole thing about stasis makes me come back to the idea of a sun in the soulscape. Though apparently it's night that's the issue, not day. 🤔 Regardless, it seems Halla is eyeing the stasis as something unnatural that might need to be fixed to fully realize the soulscape. And sunlight is what powers a real-world ecosystem - it creates wind, the water-cycle and so on. Maybe both a sun spirit and moon spirit, to give day/night cycles?

you let the tiniest possible droplet of odr through their Gate. The shock kickstarts the soul and volition to the mind.

(Odr Soul-Shock Learned)

Hey @Imperial Fister can this be done if someone is awake?

If so could this be a way around Disclosure as a form of trail? Give someone a taste of Odr and with minimal hints and certain obstacles, like making your own farm plot, have them figure out cultivation this way?

Explains why it's bad news though, without enough gas in the tank to sate its hunger, it'll eat everything in your soulscape and then probably you.

Also, apparently we didn't learn how to close someone's gate here?

While on the subject...

What's the difference between an animal Hugareida and a Muna?
A Muna (memory) is a special memory. A memory that has some effect on you. One of the effects observed is gaining or strengthening a Hugareida.
A Hugareida (minds oath) is your understanding of some area. An understanding deep enough to allow you to use tricks of that area (and when strengthening makes those tricks better).

But I'm not really invested in which of these goes first. Shopping is mandatory but doesn't need to be first.
Last time Shopping later meant others bought better offers before us. Unless we fear Audrik leaves we should shop first then talk later (even if I'm really looking forward to the Audrik Talk).

Remember when a worry in the thread was that the hearthroot would take Odr every turn?
Looks Like those worries simply were a bit early.

Wait, isn't her saying the Gate wants to remain closed the thing the Enemy influenced here? Don't we know it wants to remain open because Blackhand had to forcibly close it?

That might be case were it not for the fact he only influenced a single word, not the info after, so from what we can tell, the rest of the info is stuff she's seen. I'm under the Impression what happened with Blackhand was the enemy cheating.

Hmm.. It kind of looks like The Enemy's censoring is kind of indiscriminate. If we had learned Odr from the Seeress this would have been intended to prevent us from learning Odr to do anything more than Seidr. Unless there's something more to it, is our ability to detect undertone tied to Charred Soul, something anyone could have heard, something only Odr Cultivators could have heard?

Could it be that at the 9th stage of cultivation you leave The Gate permanently open, or somesuch..?

Wasn't that just the narrative explanation for our low roll?

[X] Talk to Audrikr and play a game of tafl while you're at it

Is that a one time food for Odr trade, or harvest and regrow later?
Anyways, the second thing you learned is that while the blood-quenched length of iron was simply a bit more responsive in your hand, in your children's hands it was like they were swinging a sword underwater.

Hmm...
Hmm...
Should have on of our Huskarls try it.
And then give an explicit order to them and the weapon to do something (Like "strike at the air")
The other kind of house is one of wood. It is the house of the established man, who has been here for years and may have even fathered a new generation. However, you don't exactly have very much in the way of wood here in your soulscape. All you've got is your sealwood tree.
Time to give Ask and Embla their Odr!
Just in case I need crack open the ol' Botanical Society of Constantinople Special.
Him needing to Wildfire/Firestorm the seeds away seems to be a realistic threat.
Teaching Sagaseeker how to stoke his Aspects
You stare at the cat ears twitching on the end of Sagaseeker's head—his saemd in action.

Sagaseeker stares back as his virthing-tail twitches behind him.

You sigh. "I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't that."

"A lesson learned then, meowther-mine." Sagaseeker snickers as you groan, his frami-fur rippling with every laugh.
OK, looks like awakened Sagaseeker is more Charming than the unawajened version. Liking him so far, lets see If it keeps.
Messing around with orthstring
Tryggr laughs as he ducks under a rock guided by your will. He snatches another off the ground and sends it hurtling back your way. Flicking out a hand, you let the rock bounce off harmlessly against Halting Vortex.

Flicking it to your hand, you toss it back at him as you try to tag him with the orthstirr string.
Looks like they are having fun.
Sad that it didn't Work with Drifa... well they are similar in amount of commonsense.
Messing around with orthstring Flicking it to your hand, you toss it back at him as you try to tag him with the orthstirr string. Unfortunately, you're unable to catch him. It seems that that target tracking idea you had will require some more work or greater refinement. It is a pretty vague idea right now, after all.
(While the string stuff is clever, it isn't the be-all end-all)
Good Progress.
Maybe we just need more training with it (vague Idea rather that formalized trick learned to competency), maybe there is something missing.
Obvious so far left to try:
Also try it with an enemy trick like KS, to ensure there isn't something special about those (could work normally, could be a competing diceroll, proximity could affect a theoretical competing diceroll)
Do a "Carrier(galespear) + main Trick (SB)" combo and try to put them both in one string, like baubles in a necklace, to control them together.
After you finished up a lesson on brewing potions—which mainly consists of finding things that resonate well, or, as Blackhand puts it, 'vibes' together—you turn to the Seeress with questions on the mind.
Sounds interesting, maybe we should take a lesson on options to get an idea for initial recipes.
you've got something brewing in your mind
And in your soulspace!

odr that's been filtered through layer upon layer of orthstirr
The property of Odr itself changes when you filter it with Orthsirr. Possibly only your specific Orthsirr.

Odr Soulshock is almost, almost, like the method to conduct True Cultivation. But where True Cultivation is 27 Orthsirr per Odr, Odr Soulshock is 81 Orthsirr per Odr - possibly because it is someone else.

Man, imagine if the Seeress found out that we have enough Odr in our soul to explode it many times over. She would go ballistic.

True Cultivation involves weaving your Aspects together and creating a Soulscape that can accept Odr. Soulshock is just flooding a body with the raw power without any preparation, so you likely need the extra Orthsirr in order to counteract that.

Also I imagine the Seeress would be very surprised. And even more surprised when a horde of rampaging monsters destroyed the tent and both of us. :V

What do you wish to do first?
Well,

Bling for Abjorn of course.
We did come here to chat with Audrikr.
Kyrsvikingr politics would be next

and that's all the 3 timeslots we normally get >.<

If we still have timeslots, uhh

Probably talk with Gary Tuskpuncher. Get magic items.
Headman's Felag would be last place, probably.

I wonder if Gary sells ivory from dead elephants.

That's bling in a lot of cultures even if the ivory trade makes me sad in real life due to the animals being very intelligent. ;-;

Do norsemen get cold, or is even false cultivation enough to protect from that?
Because I'm imagining clothing with little pockets of heated hearthroot oil in the lining.
