and vode an means "brothers all".
It's also the name of the ancient Mandalorian war chants. Specifically: the prefered war chant of the Clone Troopers, and one of Jango's favorites. Which is probably why he taught it to them. With a minor change to the lyrics anyway.
The Basic translation of Vode An said:
Glory!
One indomitable heart, Brothers all.
We, the wrath of Mandalore, Brothers all.
And glory, eternal glory,
We shall bear its weight together.
Forged like the saber in the fires of death, Brothers all.
One indomitable heart, Brothers all.
We, the wrath of Mandalore, Brothers all.
And...
Those who stand before us light the night sky in flame.
Our vengeance burns brighter still.
Every last traitorous soul shall kneel.
Those who stand before us light the night sky in flame.
Our vengeance burns brighter still.
Every last traitorous soul shall fall.
Forged like the saber in the fires of death, Brothers all!

Well the battle was realistic (translations - magnificent), so yes, worth the wait. Still If this is - just - the 'prelude' to final, you've cut yourself some chops. Nice
Attack had some CIS 'co-conspirators' Sabaoth, so technically we can consider this both a wake-up call AND declaration of war.

Still this is how I feel about the attack (and my justification, if you catch my drift):
"You provoked Mandalore, attacked the HEART of Council of Neutral Systems.... thank you for awaking the sleeping dragon, now run."

And, with some careful maneuvering on Doku's part, the CNS cuts a swathe through the CIS before they can react, takeing key systems through luck and traitors. CIS ships are captured intact and droid armies are turned. In a Bitzkregg attack the majority of CIS falls to the CNS in 2-3 months. with a final epic (and staged) dual between Cirian and Doku, culminating in Doku being offed by falling to his death into an Epic expolsion, which signals the end of the CIS. (pay no attention to Cirans' new adviser who looks like Doku except for a baddass scar, and is totally not Doku)

You're not thinking like a cunning Mastermind. This isn't so much an attack by a hostile power, but a pirate attack, lead by a charismatic and ruthless warlord with big dreams. With the Mandalorian Guardians fending off the attack and promoting their cause, Satine finds herself sidelined both on her homeworld and the rest of the CNS, as a push for 'Proactive Defense' with a mass militarisation project, lead by a highly skilled strategist... to hunt pirates of course.

In essence we can do a Palace Coup to the CNS without anyone being any the wiser. And begin measures for the final showdown with Sidious. After all we do need ships to carry our Droid Army.

Ruling sounds a lot like boring work. Whyever would Ciaran want to take over? Pacifist opinions aside, Satine does pretty decent job or running the CNS.

Why the hell would we do that? we actually have everything Ciaran needs besides an actual galactic army to be pretty comfortable for the rest of her life and not be board once Sidious kicks the bucket like really the only other things that might be an actual problem would be re-awoken ancient Sith, curious Jedi and Hutt networks.

Oh who said anything about ruling. Ciaran will be unlikely ever taking political office, but it's customary for the megacorps of Star Wars to buy and lobby seats in the centeral government. She's not ruling, she's lobbying for representation on issues she sees as necessary. A sort of Invisible Hand to guide the Galaxy down the path of healing, like we're doing now. There's still a democracy, there's still freedom and if done right no one will know anything was done at all.

Illusionary Democracy: Who decides what is irrelevant. What matters is who has power.

And this was how one episode of AU Clone Wars broke the internet.

> I CALL HAX! HAAAAAAAAAX!
> Actually it's been hinted at a few times that Ciaran was a lot more than she seemed.
> But to the point of taking on FUCKING SAVAGE AND WINNING?!!!! And we STILL don't know why Anakin trusts her so much after they all vanished in that one episode!
> Rumor has it that this season's gonna be a flash back to the previous one, focusing on Ciaran. That said, if that's the case, I'm starting to seriously wonder if the Writing Team actually have enough material to make seasons for other characters as well.
> Plz no, I want to live long enough to finish this series, the fact that I literally grew up on One Piece is bad enough as it is.
> So anyway, Ciaran's got some moves, how was she dodging Savage and striking him exactly when she needed to? I mean, she got some training from Obi-Wan and he mentioned that she also knew Form 2, so where did she pick that from?
> ...are you fags seriously ignoring that she CASUALLY CHI PALMED A FUCKING BRIDGE?!
> Yes. I'm still trying to figure out where our adorable if irritating shenanigan-filled bestie of Amidala went and why she was replaced by the stone-cold, cool as fuck, and incredibly HOT bitch we saw in this episode.
> Ciaran hires shapeshifters? Discuss.

Great, I just got the urge to bing-read the entire thread and the one before again.
Curious thought, If the story ended up with a third thread, I wonder that it would be called?

Huh... that's an interesting dangling plot point.

Did we ever learn who awoke our shatterpoint ability while we were in our coma, after the assignation attempt?

Did we ever learn who awoke our shatterpoint ability while we were in our coma, after the assignation attempt?

Plagueis did some meddling as a Force Ghost/Phantom which is confirmed by Snark (during the Mortis Arc) and me (because I say so and the condescending red text during the turn way back when was Plagueis. Of course, he never expected Ciaran to go so extremely off the rails, thanks to Kreia, as to kick the Sith to the curb in their entirety.). The 'How' hasn't been explained, but going by my own interpretation (back when I was in charge) her connection to the Force is a bit... off.

My personal headcanon is that Ciaran is somehow related to Darth Nihilus on her human side, which is why she keeps having visions featuring him and while also tying in to her Miralukan side.

Say hello to another Chat Board snippet. Today I will be introducing the background for the new Canon. Made with the help of the PHO interlude Wizard. So without further ado ...

As you know, Disney bought out Lucasfilms last year for "Over a Million Dollars".

In all serious, it was for around $4.0 Billion USD. On 27th of February, Disney just sent out word that a major decision had been made in regards to their new cash cow of Star Wars. They gave a date of 11th March where they would be giving a live stream conference to explain said decision.

That decision has just been explained and we have 100% confirmation that Disney is creating a whole new Canon for Star Wars.

Kathleen Kennedy is quoted as saying "Starting from 1977 when it first scrolled up onto the silver screen, Star Wars has been gifted with a vast and deep universe made by various creative geniuses like George Lucas, Lawrence Kasdan, Timothy Zahn, Michael A. Stackpole, and many many more. Right after the transition of leaders for Lucasfilms, we've had to decide what to do with so many wonderful characters, places, and ideas. And finally, after much discussion, the decision has been made to let the past stand on its own with the future being inspired by it but completely separate from it. Star Wars is entering said new future. A new canon is and will be created."

So in the end, Disney decided to create their own Star Wars. The past canon is being called "Star Wars Legacy" (not to be confused with whiny-boy Cade's Star Wars Legacy) with the new one simply being called "Star Wars".

To start off this new canon is an animated television series using material from Lucasfilm Animation's 2008 canceled movie idea "The Clone Wars". It's stated to start sometime this fall on Cartoon Network and Netflix. Nothing has yet been said about what the pilot will be about other than it will be movie length, stars Anakin and Obi-Wan, introduces a new important character, and it will still be made by Lucasfilm Animation.

When they said this was an important decision they meant that this was an IMPORTANT decision.

Alright, the first part of the new Star Wars canon has been released and first thoughts is ... Well, when Disney said the new canon would be "inspired by but completely separate" they weren't kidding.

Here's a quick summary of the plot:

It starts off with Obi Wan being called into a Council Meeting after talking with Anakin. There we find out that Geonosis never happened. (HUGE divergence. ) The cause of this is apparently a new character named "Lady Ciaran" who sent word to the Council through Obi-Wan before he could land on Geonosis. She gets interrogated and she TEARS INTO the council in return. She then leaves after proclaiming her neutrality in the new war. (Caused by terrorists apparently?) After that is a discussion of Ciaran and grumbling about her and her argument. We learn she is a known socialite and a successful businesswoman of a medical corporation if "Karada Medical" is anything to go by. Did I mention that she has business ties with the separatists? The IGBC was name dropped.

Not even 10 minutes in and the ending of The Attack of the Clones has been tossed aside. The rest of it is too but I'll get to that.

The next thing is a look into Anakin who has gone to talk with Padme. They talk about the war. No obvious flirting for two apparently married and awkward individuals. OH BUT WAIT. Padme calls Anakin a "good friend." No husband, no lover, nothing. There's no chaste kiss. They don't even hug! So already we are lead to believe that the marriage and flirting from episode two never happened. The two major events of Attack of the Clones never happened.

Attack of the Clones never happened. We're in completely new territory.

Anakin is called by Obi Wan and the new character Ciaran is mentioned. Anakin seems annoyed with her but Padme seems to like her with exasperated fondness than anything else.

Anakin returns and Obi Wan shares their new mission. With the Council still flipflopping about whether to join the wars as generals, the two are to head to Kalee to deal with the (re)growing conflict between the Kaleesh and the Huk.

FYI: Before being a cyborg, General Grevious was a Kaleesh which is an alien warrior species and the Huk were like the Trandoshans to their Wookiees.

The meat of the movie deals with Anakin and Obi-Wan having to learn the history of the "Huk Scandal" where we learn that two previous Jedi messed up and allowed the Huk to enslave the Kalee. They do not get a warm welcome and have to continuously fight to prove themselves. We're (re)introduced to Qymaen jai Sheelal also known as GENERAL GREVIOUS by his Kaleesh warriors. He's not a cyborg but he does wear a very similar bone mask.

We learn that the Huk have joined the CIS and have used that as an excuse to attack Kalee again. Anakin has to deal with the idea that Jedi aren't necessarily viewed positively while fighting with people who have those less than stellar views.

It ends with the Huk and their CIS loaned general "Whorm Loathsom" getting their asses kicked and sent back out into space where they are then chased off by late coming Republic reinforcements.

Anakin nearly gets into a fight with Grievous when he refuses to aid the Republic in the coming wars but Obi-Wan manages to talk him down. Grievous explains that while the Huk and CIS might be threatening them, the Republic hasn't really helped. The Jedi might have sent aid but it only barely makes up for the Jedi screwing them in the first place. The Kaleesh might be warriors but they do not go to war for those who have no honor.

The Two return to Coruscant disappointed. Obi-Wan explains to Anakin that while the Republic might be the legal government of the galaxy doesn't mean that everyone within it is completely happy. He uses the CIS as a prime example.

Anakin separates from Obi-Wan who goes to report to the council. He rendezvous with Padme again and discusses his disappointments and annoyance with the mission. Padme softly agrees with Obi-Wan and explains to Anakin that there are sadly many who, while not joining the CIS in the upcoming war, don't necessarily wish to side with the Republic. She mentions the growing neutrality movement of the Council of Neutral Systems. Anakin pretty much calls them cowards while Padme chides him and says that they simply wish to protect themselves and their peoples when they're not sure the Republic can. Anakin thinks about this and grudgingly accepts that while thinking of the Kaleesh.

Back on Kalee, Grevious gets a diplomat messenger from the CNS but more specifically from the Lady Ciaran we saw in the beginning. A mention is made to how Ciaran apparently helped him in the past by exposing the Huk! Another divergence coming from this woman. Grevious agrees to look into the CNS.

The movie ends with a side step to the CIS general Whorm Loathsome. Regrouping with a CIS battlefleet, he speaks with Dooku who mentions his disappointment. Whorm cowers and begs for another chance but Dooku cuts him off. From the shadows of the room comes out Asajj Ventress who cuts Whorm down. A little bit of talk about the future war before the credits roll in.

Not to mention that NOTHING could make 'We're tossing the prequels!' less than an absolute, world spanning shit storm. But yeah, this is hilarious.

I would be pissed if Disney did that, but it would be mildly better than the trash they are presenting us now, so meh.
Honestly? I'd be good with it. Throwing out AotC was one of the things that sold me on this quest in the first place. You still have the clone army, you still have the grievances of the CIS, you still have the Sith plot, but Anakin never married Padme, Geonosis never happened. It's pretty much all the good parts of the prequel era, minus the awful stuff.

Also?

Whiny Anakin still ... can't get away from him can we? Padme sure can't seem to ...

So uhhh ... Countnurse?

What happened to that simple "bridging the story between Episodes II and III"? Eh?
End of Page. 1, 2, 3, 4

This was amusing, I look forward to seeing more.

Maybe. But who the hell is Lawrence Kasdan?
I'm not sure who "FlamingSkull" corresponds to, but their ignorance of the man who's like a third responsible for the original trilogy being as good as it is*...it concerns me. Screenwriters are important, and I will die on this hill.

*Another third goes to Marcia Lucas, and the remaining third is split between the cast with 20 percent and John Williams with 13. The rest of the crew is...negligible in comparison, IMO.
