Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[o] Philadelphia. Follow Miss Militia and Vista. Work with Chevalier and deal with the upsurge in "Case 53s". You just hope no one confuses Samantha for one.

Am I seeing... a Mass Effect (1) three-locations/missions choice? Or am I reaching?

Anyway. Boston looks like HARD MODO to me. Accord's likely to shut us down hard if we get even a little explode-y. If Accord and Captain outright clash, we could loose Dad to the Ambassadors... Could get very ugly.

Chicago looks like the INTRIGUE/REVELATIONS option, what with the abundance street-level crime forcing us to work past our DESTROY-CRIME obsession. Also, Myyridin on magic discussions.

Philly appears to be closest to the generic Shonen/Mahou Shojo route.

I'm not sure why, but this feels like the right choice to me.

…Even without counting the votes, I'm starting to think I may have accidentally weighted one of the choices.

Oh well. Live and learn, I suppose.

Not really. Or at least, not in terms of difficulty. Each city's quest is a different genre. Boston is political intrigue. Chicago is crime drama/whodunit. Philadelphia can run anywhere from action/mahou shoujo to survival horror depending on how you play it (that being said, to get to survival horror you'd probably have to do something really, really stupid).

:( Nobody enjoys good crime drama/mysteries any more.

Just to prepare for the inevitable, what kind of survival horror are we talking here? Silent Hill psychological type? Resident Evil's limited supplies and janky controls? Indie 'you have no means of defending yourself so run and hide in a closet' type?

More like Resident Evil, I would guess (never played either Silent Hill or Resident Evil, honestly. I like horror, but getting scared and trying to manipulate a game controller at the same time is a little much for me ). What you'd get is something like "I'm alone in the dark, something's jamming my radio, nearest backup is ten minutes away, I've got six bullets in my pocket, and I can hear flesh-eating monsters all around me."

If I wasn't already voting for philli before, saying the genres certainty convinced me to. Don't like political intrigue, don't care for crime drama.

But action/mahou shoujo or survival horror? I like those genres.

Hm, sounds like Silent Hill landscapes then. Seriously, lots of very very dark and/or foggy locales in that series.

[X] Chicago. Follow Assault and Clockblocker. You'll spend most of your time dealing with regular gang violence. Solar Wrath might not be the best spell here.

CHAAAAANGE, VOTE THREE! *cookie if you get the reference*

Nope, I just changed my vote. I <3 crime/mystery puzzles!

[X] Boston. Stick around with Armsmaster, Dauntless, Gallant, and New Wave. Sure, it's stable, but that just means it should be easier to uproot the local villains.

My guess? Because as much as some people on SV and SB pretend that they're steely-eyed, calculating planners, many many many are actually soft-hearted teddy bears who see a little girl in distress and just want to give her a hug and make everything better. And since this is the internet, said girl being fictional just makes that drive even stronger.

Annoyance: It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that big brother is sitting over our shoulder screaming to "Make sure Vista doesn't die". Stupid brother and his stupid obsession!

[X] Chicago

Amusement: Big brother has left the room.

Philly does seem like the one most suited for the way we've been playing so far. Crime drama doesn't really need what Danny and company bring to the table and Taylor's Wide Area Search will trivialize a lot of it. On the other hand Chicago Crime Drama is a big genre in-and-of itself so that could be interesting.

We're not well suited to political intrigue, either the characters in this or SV as a group of players. We've passed a lot of the political hooks that have come up, and Danny and Taylor both have tempers that don't play well with slow and complex political realities.

Think I'll abstain from this one. Haven't got the foggiest clue where to head next.
