Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

From an outsider's perspective, Calamity Witch was resting peacefully with an ice pack on her forehead. Inside her mind was a different story. Needing to vent her frustrations, Taylor had created an empty copy of the Boat Graveyard and was preparing to lay waste to beached freighters. Breathing deeply, Taylor pointed Perfect Storm at a medium sized ship and shouted "Rust Shooter" before watching another series of green balls slam into her target. Taylor smiled slightly as the ship began to disintegrate. Seeing one of the primary symbols of the rot that had plagued Brockton Bay for years literally melt away was highly cathartic.

Slowly flying until she found a ship precariously resting on another ship. Grinning widely, she pointed at the ships, summoned a series of rust shooter orbs and fired. With a thunderous crash, the supporting ship collapsed. The ship that had rested on top crashed into the beach. Taylor flew closer to observe the destruction as saw a massive crack running lengthwise along the hull.

Turning away Taylor stared at the rest of the ships. As fun as using Rust Shooter was, she really should practice with her new spell. Breathing deeply, she pointed Perfect Storm at a lone ship. Immediately she felt power flowing through her in a way that didn't happen when she used Flare Shooter or Rust Shooter. A ball of energy appeared in front of Taylor before it was surrounded by a spinning runic circle. Similar circles appeared around Perfect Storm and at her feet.

Feeling the energy reach a breaking point, Taylor shouted "Solar Wrath". A massive beam of fiery energy slammed into the lone ship completely obliterating the rear part of the ship. Taylor let out a whoop of joy at the successful first attempt. Looking at the remainder of the Graveyard, Taylor started laughing as she set to work destroying the rest of the ships.

----

Danny looked up from his book as he heard his daughter give a truly maniacal laugh worthy of the worst Saturday morning cartoon villain. Looking over at Samantha who had the same concerned look on her face.

"Is she okay?" Danny asked.

"I…don't know." Sam responded slowly. "She said she was going to be practicing a new spell. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that things are going well." Danny looked over at her smiling daughter and could only nod his head in agreement as Taylor let out another cackle. Looking down at his book, Danny smiled slightly. He was going to hold this over Taylor for a long time.

A/N: Continuing to try to get Solar Wrath up to non-lethal setting. I also probably overpowered the spells, but I handwave that as Taylor setting the scenario to make everything extra fragile for extra destructive satisfaction.

[X] Philadelphia. Follow Miss Militia and Vista. Work with Chevalier and deal with the upsurge in "Case 53s". You just hope no one confuses Samantha for one.

Awesome, awesome, 2/6 on Solar Wrath. And the omake tickled my funny bone to boot. Kudos to you, sir.
@Silently Watches, does this mean Taylor can toggle the 'stun' setting on SW now?

Nope and we won´t have a stun setting for quite some time (or at least 4 more omakes). For the stun setting we need to get it to Adept.
Here the information :
Solar Wrath (2/6 Novice) – Powerful bombardment spell. Unleash a beam of fiery destruction that is capable of destroying several barriers or walls before being stopped. Currently set as lethal by default.
Tiers
Novice: You know a given spell, but you can't use it particularly well. Attack spells are lethal by default.
Adept: You know a spell well enough that you can modify it on the fly. Attack spells can be used without worrying about killing the target, and utility abilities become more effective or faster to cast.
Master: You know a spell backwards and forwards. You can cast it at decreased efficiency even when your Device is in Standby mode, and because of this, you can use multiple spells simultaneously without worrying that one of them will fail unexpectedly. Trying to juggle several of them at once will still strain your concentration, however, so don't go around trying to cast every spell you know all at once.

While Skjaldir is right that you need to be Adept for a stun setting, you don't need 4 more omake if that's all you want. 1 more for Adept and nonlethal, 4 more for Master and being able to cast it without PS's help.

*grumbles* I did a thing back on page 113... But I can't quite think of how to expand it that isn't out of line of the character we're developing in this quest.

No, all my ideas are for Airwolf-esque acrobatic stunts that fit better over in the MGLT thread. *grumbles*

It's calculation-based if I understand correctly. It has to make sense.
You're absolutely right that it makes no sense. They're also absolutely right that spells that blow up buildings (or cities in Starlight Breaker's case) only knock their target out at most.

As for the how, my best guess is that there is a subroutine in the spell that applies what is essentially a low-level Barrier Jacket to living targets so that only so much force actually affects them. It also explains why Nanoha can do things like blast Quattro from across the Saint's Cradle and avoid accidental crushing her beneath the tons of rubble left over from the walls.

Ragnarök doesn't have this setting, by the way. It's all lethal all the time. Just wanted to remind everyone of that fact.

[X] Boston. Stick around with Armsmaster, Dauntless, Gallant, and New Wave. Sure, it's stable, but that just means it should be easier to uproot the local villains.

I wish there was a good video showing Ragnarök off. I think Hayate has used it once in the entire series. She seems to prefer Diabolic Emission. May I ask why Rag doesn't have a non-lethal setting when Starlight Breaker does?
