Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

-Its nice to see Mouse has decided Molly is provisionally Good People. High Lord Mister is still displeased though..

-Dresden actually makes good arguments here. Too bad Molly already knows enough about how he operates to dismiss it.
That said, we should get either the disguise charm Black Mirror Incarnation or the spell Disguise of the New Face sooner rather than later, if we want to hide Molly's magical and mundane presence.

-I can hear poor Harry's stroke from here when Clippy addressed him by his full legal name.

And Molly casually admitting to being able to plant demons without number limit probabably gave him a heart attack on top of that.
I suspect Harry is going to dig up Bob the moment Molly steps out the door for reassurance about the likelihood of a demon apocalypse. Dude is going to develop a healthy sympathy for Charity.:V

On the bright side, if we ask Dresden to teach us normal Summoning and Warding, he's going to be heavily incentivized to do so.
If only for the ethics and propriety bit.

-Loling at Molly's Darn there.
Girl is such a teenager at times, in a hurry to be seen as grown.
-Not great rolls here. Fortunately, Harry doesnt have the monster bonus to social diplomacy that Charity gets against her daughter.

-Harry is Willpower 6.
I bet he has feats that give him WP bonuses under some conditions, and probably better WP regen, but it is informative that his base Willpower is 67% that of Infernal Molly.

-That demon roll should have been 2*(Cha 3 + Occult 5) + Stunt 2.
18 dice, not 16 dice.
Not that it matters, but just pointing it out.

-Molly needs better Awareness if she's missing the presence of Bob from inside Harry's wards.
That said, there are White Council wizards who have been inside his wards and missed them too, so she is in good company.

Harry is willpower 8 as seen here

At least if we learn where the assassin lives (as opposed to where they might be laying their head while on assignment), the timeframe to act on that knowledge will be more forgiving.
Even if he is not there often, if he comes back; we will hopefully have been able to put demons in his tech that can then jump to his phone(s).

...There's always the risk of someone seeing the possession and as a result some of the devices may die, but that is a risk I am willing to take.
[X] Still in his apartment, trying to make what you can of the bullet you had recovered from the gunman
-[X] Where does the shooter live?

we aren't getting in their house unnoticed I think an assassins likely to be paranoid, others could live there, and our our stealth is shit. We can find plenty of info there and other crown focuses.

1)Our demons cant hack yet. No jumping devices.
2)Our Stealth is not great. Neither is our Streetwise or Larceny or Investigation. All at zero.
We're much better at getting people to talk than breaking and entering or gathering physical evidence.

I'd much rather go to the countryside.
If nothing else, we can bring Mouse with us on a rural field trip, and Mouse has much better passive natural and supernatural senses than either Dresden or Molly. Makes it more likely we find stuff that our perp is trying to hide.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to get into his systems via the internet when we know the address, or else go there in a taxi and possess from the street.
@DragonParadox What is the max range to use Hollow Mind Possession to possess a new object?
Edit:
1)Our demons cant hack yet. No jumping devices.
Bother. I missed that part of discussion, would you mind linking/explaining what it would take for our demons to be able to transfer themselves?

mouses detection is actually pretty bullshit.

Haryy can investigate though.
He's good at his job.

You're assuming he has systems. Or that they arent segregated.
And even that he's a domestic personality.
Cellphone sure, but everything else is up in the air.
Somehow you manage to swallow a laugh at the last 'revelation' from the vicious, absurd, sad little man. "And what of Lictor, who's he?""He's one of the New Men, but close to the Kaiser, too close Pontifex Gorfel says, warmed us that he might have men in the city looking for the package, I thought you might be one of his with how... strong you are."
If he's working for Lictor, he's almost certainly from out of town, and is probably staying at a hotel, which has lobbies and staff.
Even an apartment building with a front door lobby, and you dont get near his apartment without having to brave guards and cameras and shit.

Can Molly see it, if yes, then yes.

They can't they are become part of the object. They can certainly help with hacking and other tasks thou, once we get more of them. A proper compter that can just sit around spend the hours to find code holes is something they can do.

I quote:
Accessing the internet is native to any demon you put into an internet connected device, but yo give them the power to hack you would have to either buy them as a familiar or if you want a lot of them doing the same thing allies.

Even without hacking looking up things online as long as they are public becomes a free action since it's not like your phone has much else to do when you are not using it.

[X] In a small rural county so different from busy Chicago you could not believe it was only two and a half hours drive following up on a tip Harry got from some Wyldfae about a man who might know something about rage spirits and what it takes to bind them

Haryy can investigate though.
He's good at his job.
Yes, he can. And is.
But I'd rather take the option where both Molly and Dresden are contributing, and not just Molly standing around as security while Dresden does the heavy lifting.

And from the thematics, I have this hazy picture in my head where Molly is saving that bullet for a comprehensive attempt at scrying, once she recovers several more significant items, she can ask several questions in sucession to narrow down the field.

Just noticed this:
Mythological gremlins, nuisances that can nonetheless be very dangerous in the wrong place
"Can be very dangerous in the wrong place" is still loads better than "actively murderous sadists".
The real question isn't if cyber devils can stop tech bane related effects, it's if they know about that property of mortal magic.
Also, even if it means immunity to techbane I would assume that it still isn't immune to tech-hexing.

honestly if we give some orders and have precautions they could be a legitimate improvement over the current status quo. Like police monitoring their a lot more thorough and far less corrupt.

This is not a feudal society and we are not the queen of Chicago.
Testimony from a demon would not be permissible even in White Council court where they know magic, let alone any sort of mundane investigation. And wiretapping random people without a warrant is dead illegal.

This is an urban fantasy setting.
Modern society rules for anything and everything that impacts on mundanes or has to interface with mundane society. You can use magically collected information to find legal evidence, but magic information is not admissible in court.

You can literally see someone commit murder with your magical senses, and it would not be admissible evidence in court.

uhh yeah an improvement over chicago cops. :p
vigilante justice and such not that we should do this just saying. Though I would like to eventually put demons in police records and systems and such.

Buff the police with InauspIcIous benedIctIon of endeavor both removes corruption and deals with Marcone.
I'll note marcones not the only one with moles in chicago police. Fairly sure vampires of multiple types, other supernatural factions, and possibly even black council have people. Maybe nemesis stuff honestly nemesis can be anywhere though.

^^^^
The Chicago PD has always been a publicly owned entity. Every major local faction bought or suborned themselves a representative in the power structure. Marcone's essentially untouchable, Rudolph was owned by the Red Court in Changes, and Lara is so smooth we never saw cops anywhere around their facilities.

Shit, Lara is so smooth she can get the US Navy to send a medevac helicopter to Chitchen Itza in Changes.

I mean, Marcone's predecessor outright vanished a little girl who got shot during an attempted gang hit into a nursing home and had her declared dead; her parents dont know she's alive and in a vegetative state.
Part of the reason I am so much a fan of HMP is that it allows us a hand to identify the players and gives us options.
