Could we get a biography if we asked for the story or history of the person who shot it instead of something as specific as who?

It will give you a comparative level of information to the question 'who are Gorfel's companions?' If you actually had the sniper it would give you more as you are asking for one person not many, but you do not have the sniper, you have one of his bullets, that if your subject, your anchor.

guys the shooter may not live in the city on a permanent basis. so live is probably bad phrasing.
We could always ask where he considers to be home, or where he most often sleeps. If we could stretch it that far we could also try asking for his banking information, then use a cyber devil to data mine him through his bank.
Then we can hunt him down, do whatever we want with him, and steal all his money to fund hunting his friends. Dresden does need to eat after all, and so far this hasn't been a paying job.

I think his immediate location is the most actionable version of the question.
We can either capture him immedtiatly or just get close enough to ask a Question about his superiors if he is in a too public setting
Depends on where he is right now.
If our friendly neighborhood sniper is in line at a Starbucks across town he could be gone before we get there and just knowing where he got his coffee today wouldn't help us.

That's where I hope that "immediate future" works, it doesn't seem like too much of an issue with Free Will to look at his current movements and next goal, if he is on the move.

Perhaps not, but it's likely Chicago is their base of operations, if only due to the timing of the attempted assassination.
While they are likely based on Chicago, that doesn't mean they only work locally. If they are in another country on a job and with no plans to return to Chicago for a while, we could get great Intel that we have no real way of acting on in a timely manner.
At least if we learn where the assassin lives (as opposed to where they might be laying their head while on assignment), the timeframe to act on that knowledge will be more forgiving.

This is an awful question though. He could easily live out of state or out of country, to say nothing of not staying AT his home at the moment.

I think a change of scenery would be good for Molly the city girl.
And going to look for people who bind rage spirits means there's a good chance of getting in a fun little punchup.
In rural country with few to no witnesses if we have to cut loose.
Im voting for fun. Pack a baton or a chair leg. And a rifle; a lot of the terrain is flat.
Plus, if Molly meets any Wyldfae on this trip(and given that Dresden got his information from them, its actually possible), Molly can now develop relationships with Wyldfae to expand her ability to collect information beyond the reach of cameras and technology.
Also I dont think Molly is ready to deal with Marcone yet.
She's still an impulsive teenager and Marcone is a problem that you dont solve with a hammer.
Besides, she already has Gard's number.

Random thought on this, would the pollution from molten human fat from the Hell of Boiling Oil being burned as fuel serve as a suitable source of background magic? What if they ate the fat after it cooled? And how hard would it be to redesign an engine to run on molten fat?
